Latrice Evans

I knew he was a bastard but did he have to act like one right after our wedding took place? Did he have to act like that in my PARENTS House???

It made me wonder if servants were his cup of tea. Did he enjoy having SERVANTS help him? Gosh!

Why am I angry at him? I don't even like him!

"Latie?"

I turned my head to see Rissa running towards me. I stopped walking waiting for her to catch up with me. When she reached me, she hugged me. Her hugs were warm and nice.

"I'm okay." I tell her as I break the hug.

"I know, in just hugging you because I need the hug." she responded.

It was a lie but it didn't matter, because she had good intentions.

"I can't believe that bastard though!" she stated angrily.

"He was adamant on getting married yet his acting like this!" She adds stomping her foot on the floor.

I giggled at the sight as her foot made a light sound on the tiled floor.

We walked to my room to get me changed out of my wedding dress, but with my current foul mood , I didn't feel like going to the reception. I had to dance with that bastard and I didn't want to want to dance with him. He is a bastard that I needed to punch. Just thinking about him made me angry.

"Do you think Nic is like him? " Rissa asked me, fear was lingering on her words. No... They were lingering on every vowel and consonant that came out of her mouth.

"I'll kill him if he is such a bastard!" I voiced out getting more angry than before.

Rissa walked to me and hugged me tightly. We stood there hugging each other for a while before she broke it. She walked to the couch in my room and sat down. We were silent with only memories that filled my room making noise.

Thirteen years ago...

"Latie? What do you dream of?" Five-year-old Rissa asked me as we drew in our books.

I hummed as I thought about it. What was it that I wanted in this life? Everything I had was enough for me and would be enough for me.

"I want to be happy my entire life until I die." I answered as I smiled at her.

That day was a complete disaster which we still talk about from time to time.

"Do you remember the time that I told you that my dream was to be happy until I die? And you shattered into tears thinking I was dying because I was happy?" I asked laughing.

"Hey! You were very happy when you said that!" She argued.

"I was happy because you were in my life." I added.

"Don't make me cry." she whined as she pouted.

I laughed at her as I stared at my room.

The beige walls were filled with doodles Rissa and I had made when we were younger. The doodles were things we wanted and things we cherished. My wardrobe had been the same hazel-brown wardrobe from my childhood. The dark brown embroidery duvet that decorated my bed that I made with my mother a few years back... I was going to leave all this to go to that Bastard's house!

"Let's not think about that Bastard!" I said as I slapped my cheeks.

"Don't slap yourself!" Rissa said shocked as she got up and untied my wedding dress for me.

"Thank you and sorry." I replied as I grinned at her.

She shook her head and walked towards the mannequin that was dressed in my reception gown. She undressed the mannequin and brought the dress to me.

"You should step on his feet when you dance and you should also dance with Theon." Rissa said out of the blue smirking.

I nodded my head as I felt a shiver down my spine. She is a scary person when she comes up with a plan

Reception Banquet

Everyone was already in the hall waiting for us to enter. And I was waiting for her to arrive. Her best friend Marissa had already entered and also kicked me on my legs calling me a bastard.

***

Moments earlier...

Nicholas was waiting with me for the girls to arrive, but only Marissa arrived. She saw me and scoffed. Nicholas and I stared at each other shocked and he whispered.

"Don't offend her."

I nodded my head in agreement when I felt a sudden pain in my leg. I looked down to see Marissa kicking me twice!

I bit my tongue shocked, confused and in pain.

She then stared at me in the eyes and said.

"You are the worst bastard to exist and I hope you know that."

"Let's go, Nic." were her last words before she walked into the hall.

***

Her kicks were ferocious for a lady of her build. I felt scared for Nicholas. If he annoys her in the future would she kick him like that?

"Let's get this over with."

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked in front of me to see Treece staring at me with a stoic face. She had a dress on that brought her bodyshape out. It fitted her like a glove. The cream-white colour of the dress made her look like a blank canvas on which the night ocean was drawn on it. Her hairstyle was somehow different. It was a half done ponytail in front with the back of her curly hair loose.

"You look beautiful." I told her.

She scoffed before staring at me and asking.

"Is that what you tell them?"

It caught me off guard because I've only told one woman throughout my entire life that she was beautiful. The biggest compliment a woman has ever received from me was 'you look proper.' that was my way of telling them you only look nice in this moment but I'm still not interested.

She scoffed again before hooking her hand with my arm.

"It's not like that, let me explain." I stated.

"There's something I want to talk to you about later." She added pushing the doors open.

Everyone was looking at us. Some smoked while others had scowls on their faces when they looked at us.

The reception banquet was decorated wonderfully with white lilies almost everywhere. The marble white floor looked decent and the decorations were white, blue and gold. White chairs with blue ribbons on them and gold glasses and played decorating the white covered tables. The colours somehow complimented each other. Everyone was enjoying their conversations and people came to us congratulating us on our marriage. Treece had a smile plastered on her face as she spoke to people. It was a fake smile. Her eyes were not as bright as they usually were when she spoke to people she liked. Her lips didn't curve up all the way like she usually smiled, and the tone of her voice... The tone of her voice sounded like someone who was extremely bored and annoyed.

"...it's time for the bride and grooms to dance first." a voice announced.

Everyone clapped their hands we walked to the front from where we were.

"May I?" I asked, extending my hand.

"Only because of the people." She answered through her fake smile as she accepted my hand.

"I didn't do anything with her." I explained as we danced.

"Whatever you say." she responded.

"I only believe what I saw." She added as I pinned her.

We were dancing the traditional wedding dance that existed long in the Aegis Empire.

I pulled her close by the waist after her swirl.

"I really did nothing with her." I stated as we looked at each other in the eyes.

Our lips were inches away from each other. Her beautiful brown eyes made me feel lost in a desert searching for them. It felt like she was enchanting me with her eyes...

"And I said that I. Do. Not. Care." she said stepping on my feet.

The music stopped and everyone applauded as she smiled before whispering,

"Don't bother me unless it's important." in my ears.

I nodded pulling her by the waist closer to me.

"We will have to leave in two hours. So I hope by then we have done everything we have to." I whisper in her ears.

She nodded her head smiling before she walked towards her best friend. She can avoid me for two hours but She will never be able to avoid me forever. I'll make sure of it.

"You messed up dude." Nicholas said shaking his head.

"If you're not careful you will probably end up the same way." I counterattacked.

He gasped, horrified by what I said. I chuckled before sticking my tongue out.

Somewhere in the garden of Marquess Richardson...

The servant girl who had been thrown out of the Duke's room had found a cloth to cover herself and waited for the person to come find her. When the person arrived she had teleported them to the garden where no one was. The garden where no one would see them.

"What happened? " she asked.

"He threw me out, but the bride saw me." the servant answered

"How did she react?" she asked calmly.

"She laughed and said I'm sorry before walking away." the servant answered.

"Good. You have done a good job." she said

She smiled at the servant before she grabbed her by the neck. The servant stared at her confused. She couldn't comprehend what was happening.

"Unfortunately I can't keep you alive." she said drawing out the life forces of the woman.

Her skin tightened to the point where her skeleton bones could be seen through her skin. Her eyes turned white and her lips became dry as though she had been starving for a very long time. Her skin was pale and her body became colder than any Northern Duchy had ever been.

"You would talk and I can't let them know about me until I take what's mine." She explained to the lifeless body of the woman she had used.

"I'll give you another life in the form of soil for your good work." She added as she used her powers to dig a hole 10 meters away from a tree.

Once the hole was dug she crumbled the lifeless body and threw it into the hole. She covered it and made grass above it.

"This is only the start." She said to the grass before vanishing.
