The Debate
The auditorium was packed with reporters, supporters, and spectators, all eager to witness the clash of two political rivals. Congressman Hills, the Liberal nominee, arrived late, escorted by his security team and his campaign manager. He wore a navy blue suit, a red tie, and a confident smile. He waved to the crowd as he walked towards the stage, where his opponent, Governor Smith, the Conservative incumbent, was already waiting.
"Sorry for the delay, folks. I had some important business to attend to," Hills said as he reached the podium. He shook hands with Smith, who gave him a cold stare. "Good luck, Governor. You're going to need it."
"Save your luck for yourself, Congressman. You're going to need more than that to beat me," Smith retorted.
The moderator, a well-known journalist from CNM (Cable News Media), intervened and asked the candidates to take their seats. He explained the rules of the debate and announced the first topic: health care.
