Leo closed the door behind Madison and Rodney, who had just left his office. During the past few days he had invested so much time and energy into this case. He simply wanted to get this over with and also was proud of them for speaking up and confronting their abuser, knowing people had so much faith in him made him feel good.
He checked his watch and realized he had another appointment. He walked to the reception area, where he saw a young man sitting on a couch, looking nervous and scared. He recognized him as Jake, the new witness who had contacted him a few days ago. He said he had also been abused by Father Charles when he was a teenager, and he wanted to join the lawsuit.
Leo approached him and smiled warmly. "Hi, Jake," he said. "I'm Leo, your lawyer. Thank you for coming today."
