He wasn't healing up fast as per his usual and the star of salvation was to be blamed. With one forced deep breathe and a groan of pain, he tried to use some of his inner energy to heal up some of the wounds he had on and in his body before the bird thought of making them worse again.
He didn't remember when was the last time he had gone through such pain in his life. Physically, not mentally nor emotionally. Right, he had never gone through this kind of pain physically and he didn't want to feel that kind of pain in the near future again.
He had faced and fought hunters, a few dragons, vampires and even zombies before but he always had the upper hand during the fights, this time, he had none. Well, he had it but he chose to hide behind the ice wall instead of fighting back.
If his Father came to know about it, then, he'd be so disappointed in him. Lucky was so sure that if his Father became aware of this, then he'd never talk to him again let alone look at him even a single glance.
Anyways, wasn't that what was going on at the moment?. His Father was not his Father anymore but Akaya's husband. He was being shut out and if this continued, his Father would forget about his existence. He wasn't sure what had transpired between the witch who was his mother and his Father for him to change in such a manner and in such a short span of time but whatever it was, it wasn't good but it piqued his interest. He wanted to know why his Father was a complete different man from the person he had been months ago.
'It's time for us to be selfish'. Plutonic's words echoed in his mind over and over again like a stereo tape making him wonder what his Father had meant by that statement.
Had he meant that it was time for 'them to be selfish' or had he meant that it was 'his time to be selfish' instead?. Life wasn't fair at all. He was here fighting this battle alone for the world's benefit and his 'selfish' father didn't even care if he'd return home safe and sound or not!.
Ferlio's eyes widened with surprise as he watched the blood on the boy's face draw back into the wound cleaning up it's trail and the injury closed up nicely as if it hadn't been there from the very beginning.
This wasn't fair. He couldn't heal up even an ounce and that made his insides burn with jealousy. The pain in his hind and leg injury felt numbed all of a sudden as he flew forwards towards the boy with full force in the attempt to stab the boy with his beak.
Lucky having noticed the sudden movement from the bird got ready for the attack as he dropped the whip in his hand while clenching and unclenching his fist.
He created a fireball which he used to burn the bird's beak at the tip once it got closer and punched him hard enough that his knuckles cracked and hurt.
Ferlio let out a gasp of surprise as he quickly flew backwards when the tip of his beak melted down thus his beak became deformed from that of a falcon shaped to that of a finch's.
Ferlio was in so much pain and this was one thing that would never heal or go back to normal. What was done was already done and that fact hurt him a lot.
How dare he?. How dare he defile and deform him?. Ferlio was going to avenge his beak no matter what.
It was his turn to hurt Ferlio. Lucky quickly followed Ferlio's backing trail and targeted his abdomen before punching him severally earning groans from the bird.
Punching the bird's abdomen felt like hitting a stuffed teddy bear due to the way he was soft. The bird indeed had turned soft when locked up.
'He's not like the typical villain who trains for so long just to remain in shape so as to take vengeance easily. Seems like he was to depend on the star for it's multiple power, energy and strength for vengeance instead. More reason for me to keep the star away from him'. Lucky thought as he punched Ferlio's abdomen one last time and kicking it but earning an attack from Ferlio in return.
Ferlio had scrapped his chest to his abdomen using his claws thus drawing blood from the boy.
The remaining tattered remains of his hoodie and t-shirt fell off his body as Ferlio pulled his claws out of the boy's body by force so as to worsen the injury. He was using the good leg and it was high time to put it into good use. Moreso, that did not mean that he wasn't feeling pain in his injuries and abdomen as well.
The younger male surely had some indefinite strength in him.
'But not for long'. Ferlio thought. He was going to shut the boy up forever and take what was rightfully his.
Fantasies of him having the star in his hands well his claws since he didn't have hands yet made him leap with anxiety inwardly.
Lucky spat blood out of his mouth. His insides felt as if they were burning and all he could taste in his mouth and throat was blood.
Ferlio hit him on the face with his talons before digging again in his chest using his claws to make his scraps on the boy's body deeper.
"I will kill you today". Ferlio muttered out, his voice coming out hoarse due to the strangling he had received from Lucky earlier on while pulling his claws out forcefully and Lucky spat out more blood.
He was never going to fight a five hundred year old bird again. Lucky decided as he watched Ferlio's talons get closer to him to attack again. He raised his hand to protect himself but Ferlio got hold of him by tightening his hold around his chest and abdomen to dig in his claws like before.
Lucky let out a groan. He formed a brick of ice through magic which he used to hit Ferlio's injured leg resulting to him breaking free. The bird's shriek of pain caused his headache to worsen. His whole body was in pain and at this rate, he was not going to heal properly.
Ferlio being angry decided to use his last strength to attack the boy. He span like before though not as fast with the attempts to create a fire sword to attack Lucky.
Without second thoughts, his hand that held the longbow tube raised in the air, it was giving out a red orangish ray of light. He had no idea of what he was doing until the longbow tube retracted from both sides thus making it whole expect from two things missing, the string and the arrow to use.
He wasn't using his own mind, that he could tell as he raised his other hand and positioned it close to the longbow as if there was an invisible string and arrow that he was holding onto but he couldn't see them.
If someone saw him doing this, they'd opt him of being insane but the matter of the fact was, he wasn't sure of what he was doing but something deep within reassured him that only through this way, would he be able to afflict so much pain in Ferlio.
Once Ferlio had formed the fire sword and sent it his way, did he pull harder on the invisible string and suddenly let it go.
The sound that emitted from letting go of the longbow was like that of two universal galaxies colliding together.
The only thing he could see was a very huge ball of fire heading Ferlio's way which morphed into the head of a golden fiery red Phoenix. It let out a majestic loud caw before hitting Ferlio with so much force. It burnt out his wings and all of his feathers, boring a hole in his chest that didn't bleed out. It was as if it had dried up Ferlio's blood before pushing him down towards the path of the Mountain Water Channel. Ferlio's voice couldn't even be heard. Lucky wasn't sure if the bird was dead or not as a good warrior, he was supposed to go check if his opponent was still alive or not and finish up the job but whatever would come later, he'd sort it out. He was too tired to follow up on Ferlio's attack at the moment.
If Ferlio was going to raise again he would be there waiting for him.
The yellow light coming his way was what reminded him of Ferlio's last attack.
How could he have been so reckless to forget this?. Everything had happened so fast so he had been in the afterglow of victory to remember such a thing as the fire sword attack made by Ferlio.
