Chapter 6 Missions and arena

"Missions" I said to check the available missions.

And then an interface of system appeared in front of me. There were several missions available. I saw main mission section.

Main missions

1. Survive in the upcoming Arena match.

Details- In two months, you will fight in a very dangerous Arena match. You will have only one goal in that battle, to stay alive.

Reward- EXP 1000, STAT POINTS 20.

Completion Rate-

100% if you survive with all limbs attached.

70% if you loose any working limb or one eye and ear.

30% if you loose two working limbs or any other internal organs.

With black face I saw the details of the mission. "System what kind of mission is this."

[Ding]

[The current conditions of host were so poor that if host would participate in the arena with his current stats, then the chances of host's death were 80%. That's why this mission of survival was generated.]

Now my face became pale. I was really scared shitless. Although I died once and it was a horrible experience but atleast it was quick death. Seeing the mission details, now I assumed myself going through a slow death with my limbs detached, then eyes dug out, ears cut with sword and finally my organs sprawled on floor.

Waving my hands in the air to erase those thoughts in flustered manner, I said to myself. 'Calm down, I'll definitely don't die. It's time to practice, yes, yes always stay positive Max. You will survive.'

Encouraging my self again, I want to start my training as fast as possible. But let's check the other missions first.

2. Escape from the hell hole.

Details- This beautiful looking place is no less then hell hole for you. So escape from the Holy Land Marie Geois. Get rid of slave status.

Reward- EXP 1000, STAT POINTS 10.

Completion Rate-

100% if you escape without making anyone alert and remove the hoof mark on your chest.

50 % if you escape without making anyone alert but can't remove the hoof mark on your chest.

20% if you were noticed during escape but still somehow managed to escape and get rid of your slave mark.

Comprehending on the second main mission I thought about how to escape and how to get rid of slave mark. But first I need some more clues. Like where is the pass of reverse mountain or how many guards were placed in Marie Geois, where is the lift that to took people from base of the mountain etc. There were just too many questions. It's really hard to get out of here without making anyone alert.

I'll ask Jon next time. Maybe he knows more about this place.

Let's see the Side missions and daily missions too. After clicking on the pannel I saw all the available side missions too.

Side missions

1. You can consider yourself a sword master.

Details- Reach atleast beginner level sword proficiency in two months.

Reward- EXP 50, STAT POINTS 5.

2. You can consider yourself a Martial artist.

Details- Reach atleast beginner level Martial art proficiency in two months.

Reward- EXP 50, STAT POINTS 5.

3. You can consider yourself a body builder.

Details- Reach atleast beginner level bodybuilder proficiency in two months.

Reward- EXP 50, STAT POINTS 5.

4. Do something unbelievable.

Details- Although Holy Land Marie Geois is nothing but hell hole for you but there are many possibilities hidden in here. Infiltrate Marie Geois castle and find more secrets about this place.

Reward- EXP 10000, STAT POINTS 100.

Completion Rate-

100% if you can unveil every hidden secret of Celestial dragons.

80% if you can find the five elders treasures.

60% if you can find the celestial dragons treasures

50% if you can find the CP0 secrets and treasures.

Noticing the odd 4th side mission I asked system, "how did system generated this mission? It's quite odd mission."

[Ding]

[From the memories of host, System concluded that if host could infiltrate Marie Geois palace, host could get his hold on many valuable information. Host just need to investigate more and find something valuable in the mentioned positions.]

I yelled at system, "are you crazy, I can't even see myself escaping from this hell hole and you want me to investigate. Haha, very funny."

Well it's a side mission, I can ignore it for now.

After that I checked the daily missions and they were all simple missions, giving 5 EXP each. Like

1. Train in martial arts.

2. Train in sword arts.

3. Do exercise properly.

Excepting the daily missions I started my training.

Now that I have some goals to achieve, life became one directional. Waking up early, exercising, training in simulation, eating 3 time meals, some times discuss things about martial arts with Jon and sleep again. Time gradually passed and two months went like breeze.

2 months later

Morning.

A rhythmic voice could be heard if someone listen closely.

981, 982, 983, 984...

In a closed cell, a person is performing push ups with one hand. His body is developed properly and there is a hint of masculinity.

Max trained well without wasting any time in these 2 months. Even though there's no massive difference in his build, his fist now carried unbelievable power. Ending his daily training, Max called the system interface which displayed his current attributes.

After confirming his attributes Max was really happy.' Tomorrow I will achieve the beginner in 3 of my occupations.' Max thought.

System Start simulation. I said

In the past two months, I could only practice two moves to actually change them as skills. First was 5 kick combo. It's the combo of 360 degree fast kicks from Mui Tai and taekwondo, kicking a person 5 times in row. And other move was one inch punch, famous punching technique from Bruce Lee. I also learnt other martial arts, as I can't always fight with just these two moves, but I am not proficient in them. Plus one cannot become master with just two months practice. It needs years of hard work and training so as real fighting experience to make fighting moves as a part of natural body reaction.

As for the sword proficiency, I can atleast swing sword properly and maintain my sword motions right. Noob sword's man training, only include how to swing sword properly and how to maintain your postures right. I need to find a master to train me in sword practice. Maybe I can go to East blue once I escape from here to find master Koushirou to train me in the way of sword. Atleast that way I can create some foundation for myself in kendo.

Max practice for two hours in simulation. After that he took a small rest and thought about his stats. He noticed that his INT, WIS and WILL were higher compared to other states and for some reason the CHA stat never changes even when he was now in much batter shape. So he asked these questions to system.

[The INT and WIS stats came from the nature of his present and past life habits. In both life Host like reading.]

[The WILL stat is high because of the current body host possess. So as because of reincarnation, there is a increase in spiritual energy.] Maybe it's related to the D clan I thought.

[Lastly decrease in CHA Stat, because currently host is a slave and had a slave mark. Host just need to get rid of his slave status to return it to normal.]

During this time I also talked with Jon about the guards positions. Jon went out of this place during his time here as he needed to carry a celestial dragon as mount sometimes. It was humiliating but what can he do. He just gave me general position of guards. I remembered those positions, so that I can't come in range of device which they use to control collars. It will surely help me during my escape.

Next day after completing my daily missions and finally leaving noob and officially joining beginner in martial artist, sword master and body builder, i decided to take rest whole day and prepare myself mentally for tomorrow's arena fight.

Maybe it's going to be a permanent mental scar for me as people in arena were going to fight for lone purpose of killing, so that they could live for another day. As I came from much civilized place I never seen any massacre, so I was kinda worried.

I have done everything I could, and tried my best. So let's just eat well, rest well and sleep well today. That way my body will be in top condition tomorrow.

After completing the three side missions, I just distributed my stat points equally and put last 5 stat points in Luck. But after that luck stat got locked. I asked system why did LUK got locked. System just replied that I need to get rid of the slave status first to unlock this stat again. So following are my attributes now.

9 am morning, next day. After the breakfast.

The guards came and gathered all the slaves, who were going to take part in today's arena match.

Tied with iron chains, all the slaves were taken to the arena. As our group walked slowly toward arena, I also observed the lift that took people in and out of Marie Geois. From the nice road we were all took to the arena of Sabaody Archipelago.

I also noticed the special numbered mangroves of Sabaody. They were producing bubbles. Such a fascinating plant. I didn't saw any people in our way, maybe they all hid themselves cause they new that many celestial dragons were touring the city today.

Finally we reached the arena and then we were guided to a big hall. There, slaves were being registered in similar ways from my memories of Dressrosa arc when Luffy participate in Arena.

After being registered they can choose an armour and weapon of their liking. Scanning and finding the best sword, hand gloves and armour, I was just standing peacefully with Jon. We didn't talk as we already discussed to fight together in arena.

The announcement of fights going to be start very soon, were continuously told on mic. All the slaves were then divided accordingly as per their owners.

With some nervousness and worry in my heart, I waited for the announcement of entering of our group in the arena.
