Hage was a small village on the outskirts of the Clover Kingdom. It was mostly undeveloped with several houses randomly located within a wide grassy plain. One of the notable landmarks within Hage was the huge skeleton of a demon, which was located slightly outside the village. A statue of the first Magic Emperor, who defeated the demon, was placed on top of the demon's skull.

Additionally, the villagers were also able to gaze toward the Kingdom's Noble Realm unobstructed because of their lower altitude.

Most of the villagers worked as farmers where they had patches of land, which they cultivated for agricultural purposes. As they live in the Forsaken Realm of the Kingdom, most of Hage's residents have low magical powers. Due to this, rarely were any of them able to join the Magic Knights. Instead, they remained in the village. Furthermore, because they lived far away from the Kingdom's main population, the villagers were often discriminated against by those who lived closer to the Royal Capital.

In the morning outside the only church in the village, Father Orsi, the chief priest of the only church, opened the door after hearing some strange sound coming from outside. But he didn't find a shadow of any living thing as far as he could see, except for the two newborn babies lying in front of the door.

"Oh my, who left you two little fellows here?!... Let's first get you two little things inside and warm you up." He quickly picked them up and took them inside as it was freezing outside due to the winter season. He gently placed them on a bed and lit up a fire to warm the place.

"Hmm, let's see now. They seemed to be twins... no they are not!" Orsi observed the two babies and saw that they both had different features. One was black-haired with a calm personality while the other had grey hair and seemed to be quite playful.

"So, you're Yuno, huh." Orsi checked the tags on their clothes and read the name of the black-haired one.

"And this one is Asta."

Father Orsi smiled as he said, "You don't have to worry anymore. Starting today, this is your home... Asta, Yuno."

But the middle-aged man didn't know that little Asta could understand his every word very clearly...

A few minutes before the event.

'Umm... is this the place that god sent me to?'

'Huh, where is this place?' Alex tried to look around but to no avail. Aside from an old-looking building in front, he could not see at his sides because of his small frame.

'It seems like a... Church!'

Suddenly, the gate of the church opened and a middle-aged wearing a black robe with wide, white bands at the hem and cuffs. He also wears a high-collared, white mantle and a gold necklace with a cross.

'Hmm, he is the father of this church.'

And when he saw the old man generating fire out of nowhere, he was slightly dumbfounded.

'What the... Is it magic?!'

And after a few minutes, he heard him calling his name.

'Asta? I seemed to have heard this name somewhere... but where is it?... Ah? Isn't it the name of the main character from the Black Clover anime? So, this must be the world of Black Clover then.'

[Yep. You're correct.]

'W-What the... I seem to have the hallucination of a voice echoing in my head.'

[It's not a hallucination.]

'Ehh, I heard it again. Just what the hell is going on?'

[Will you be quiet? I'm the most advanced life form created by my Master. He sent me with you so I can assist you and help you entertain my master.]

'And how are you going to do that?' Alex called down a few seconds later and asked.

[Finally, you ask a good question. Here, check your status first.]

Suddenly, a holographic screen appeared in front of Alex's eyes.

(Dragon Slaying Magic - Acnologia: A Lost Magic which allows its user to transform his physical body into Acnologia. Immune to all elements. Dragon Slayer Magic is the only way to kill, or even hurt Dragons, who are shown to be mostly unaffected by other forms of Magic.)

'So, it's true then. If I had gotten a decent skill aside from this "Ultimate Chad", it would have been the best.' He signed, feeling somewhat satisfied...

A few months passed and one could see a small child in the corner of a room, sitting in a lotus position with his eyes closed.

Alex took a deep breath and could feel the trace of energy entering his small body through his skin pores. He then slowly channeled it inside his body, creating a complete path before letting it enter his heart. 

His heart was going through a certain form of evolution as a small fragment of red crystal had formed inside it alongside another white seed while a circle of mana rotated around his heart creating a small protection barrier.

'So, this is mana, huh? I can finally feel it clearly.'

A smile found its way on his face as he repeated the process again and again

[Good kid. You're finally getting the hang of it. You really have a thing for magic since you've mastered that complex technique to convert a part of your body into a mana organ. Here is your reward.]

*Tti-ring!*

*Your mana has increased slightly.*

Alex grumbled since he was practicing for a few months and yet his mana always increased by a small value, barely letting it reach E- rank.

It's a really tiring and time-consuming method. But Alex was diligent in his training, practicing around 3-4 times a day.

'I have to practice more and become strong soon.'

Determination flashed on his small cute face as he continued the training.

[Great, kid. You need this much hard work if you really want to reach the apex. Anyone who says that you can do it by being lazy is just a loser.]

(What a strong-hearted person! I have never come across someone like him in ages. All the others always try to find shortcuts to strength. No wonder my master chose me to help him because I'm the best of my kind to help people like him. I can't help but anticipate what he will achieve in the future.)

Unaware of his system's expectations of him, Alex continued to hone his mana capacity and body limits.
