Whilst they allowed the advance force to get their distance, Vol attempted to convey to the Syndran men under him that he wanted them to loot the corpses of the fallen raiders. Though that took more effort than Vol had thought it would, and the rewards were minimal, in the form of just a few rather light coin purses – Vol could see why it was that they'd been so desperate for a raid.

Soon enough, they were following along behind after the advance force once more, this time at an easier pace than before. Vol supposed, at the very least, Blackwood should have been capable of slowing the enemy that he was pursuing, even if he wasn't necessarily capable of defeating them outright.
