Perspective: Conrad Garnier

I don't know what the hell was happening to me, that night every mundane thing looked exceptionally "extraordinary".

Ever since Regina fed me,

Nope, that wasn't it,

Maybe my fatigue was getting worse, my hands and legs were sore.

Yeah, That's it.

So, after telling Emilia "Good Night" I decided to go to sleep.

I silently walked towards my carriage,

Then out of nowhere Thor Gild stopped me, by extending his arm in front of me.

With an annoyed expression I asked,

"What do you want?".

He replied with a gentle voice,

"Look can we talk?".

I didn't want to ,

But still I decided to listen,

get it over with.

He said,

"I didn't knew that I would ever say this to you .... but I am saying this anyway .... thank you".

I was confused, so, I asked

"What .... what did I do?".

He replied,

"Look man I know you helped me ... If you hadn't shown Patrick where I was .... I would have been dead from all those wounds .... due to my stubborn ascetic pride".

As soon as I heard that, I felt a sudden twinge of pain in my head,

I tried to correct him,

"I didn't do anything .... I left you there to die .... why would I do anything to save you .... I hate you".

But he refused to believe that,

"I know you did that .... you don't have to hide it .... and I am greatfull to you ".

A sudden twinge of pain enveloped my whole head, It was excruciating,

He shouldn't have said that ?.

"I hate him".

"I hated him".

"Didn't I ?.... ".

I placed both of my hands on Thor Gild's shoulders and looked into his face, even though I was feeling a bit dizzy,

I said,

"No you have got it all wrong here? .... Listen to me .... okay .... I hate you ..... I .... Hate .... you".

As I said that, the gentle expression Thor Gild had on his face changed, now he had an concerned and curious look on his face,

He asked me,

"Why is your nose bleeding?".

I was completely caught off guard,

My reaction was,

"What! ... what are you?".

I gently rubbed my hand towards my nostrils, as I checked my hand, I saw blood.

Thor Gild looked worried,

He started saying,

"What happened to you?".

"Are you hurt ?"

Then I shouted at him with the frustration of him not listening to me,

"I hate you .... Thor Gild .... now, go get the hell out of my face".

Thor Gild without saying anything he left.

As, I no longer had the energy to stand, I sat on my carriage.

My head was aching, I started having Completely stupid thoughts like,

"I hate Thor Gild .... Don't I?".

"Yes, I hate the kind of person he is?".

"Then why did I bother saving him?".

"Why .... why ... why ... why .....".

"That's right .... we need him .... remember what Kyle told me .... every person is crucial to our survival".

"Yes, I am completely justified here".

"No ... that's not it .... ".

I clenched my fists, and punched myself to get out of my ridiculous thought cycle.

My right cheek hurt, It hurted like hell, but now atleast I was focused on my pain. Screw what he thought of me, I still hated him.

Then I heard a voice,

"Conrad ..... Conrad ....".

As I lifted my head, I looked towards the voice, It was Regina, she was running towards me, but for some reason, she looked absolutely stunning, it was as if stars were twinkling on her, Once again I could hear my heart beat.

I felt something stupid and meaningless that I shouldn't feel.

She was, was like my sister after all.

She came near me, with a worried look on her face,

"What happened? ... are you hurt ... where did that blood came from?".

"Conrad".

She gently came closer to me, the closer she came, my head started to ache more.

I shouted at her,

"Go .... go away".

"It hurts .... It hurts".

While I held my head,

I shouted,

"Don't come any closer".

"Stay away".

She widened her arms,

as she said,

"Don't worry I am here ... your pain will soon disappear".

"I am always here for you".

While I kept telling her to go away, she kept coming closer, and closer, At that moment I felt as If she perceived me as a child,

"No one would hurt you".

I shouted,

"No ... No ...".

I resisted, I kept resisting. But she persisted and embraced me with a hug, she felt warm and comforting.

My mind screamed at me,

"You shouldn't do this .... this is not right .... this is not your will".

But I couldn't lift my head away from her embrace,

She gently placed my head in her warm bosom, while I kept murmuring, "Go away.. , go away ..., Go away".

She said while petting my back,

"No matter how much you say .... I won't leave you, because I love you ...., you need me .... I am the only one who can comfort you .".

My head was still hurting, but I felt a sense of security, as If, It would really stop hurting, that felt comforting.

Soon, my pain was gone.

And,

I was sleeping beside Regina, while facing the other side.

I sensed her head gently leaning against my back, followed by a warm and moist sensation.

Was she crying?

I turned, facing towards her, I embraced her.

Didn't know why she was crying,

But yet I comforted her,

She cried, Cried on my embrace,

while she said,

"I love you".

She was saying that she loved me as her brother,

So, I replied,

"I love you too .... as my sister".

Then she again said,

"I love you".

I replied,

"As your brother right".

She said,

"No".

I knew she loved me as her brother,

So I replied,

"You are my precious family .... and I will always love you".

She cried,

"No".

For some reason her tears were not stopping.

So, I comforted her on my embrace the whole night.

Next day,

I woke up, peeked out of my carriage, everyone was getting ready to move again, the day was bright, yet, Regina was still asleep.

So, I left her be.

Once again we were getting ready to go into that dark forest. But this time there was no snow storm.

But for some reason I sensed everyone's gaze at me.

Then Thor Gild approached me,

"Are you doing alright today?".

He looked genuinely concerned about me for some darn reason,

I shooked him off by saying,

"That's none of your business".

Afterall we were enemies,

So his asking me was really strange,

I bet he was half asleep.

Without giving much of an reaction he left,

He wasn't even offended.

I washed my face, dawned back my armour and attached the horses to my carriage.

Fed them a little oat, and began our journey once again.

Yuna woke up and sat beside me,

"Good morning". She greeted.

I replied,

"Good morning".

She asked me,

"Did I miss something yesterday... ?".

"Every one is talking about something ..... that I don't remember".

I replied,

"That's right you were out cold the whole night".

She asked,

"I think so".

"So what happened?".

I answered,

"You probably didn't felt that but, after you all fell asleep .... we were attacked by giant spiders ..... ".

"With the help of Kyle and Emilia we all barely managed to escape".

She replied,

"That's not what they are chatting about?".

"Did something else happened?".

I tried to recall, but I wasn't able to remember anything that she could have been referring to,

So I said,

"If that's not it .... than I don't know?".

Then I heard Yawning coming from inside our carriage.

It was Regina she had finally woken up.

I peeked inside as I said, "So you finally woke up".

When I looked inside, I was taken aback to see tear streaks on Regina's cheeks.

So I asked,

"Were you crying on your sleep?".

"Did you had a nightmare?".

She said faintly,

"Yester ... yesterday ".

I didn't understand what she meant,

Had something happened Yesterday?

I didn't remember?

So I said,

"Sorry Regina I don't remember anything ..... yesterday since we ate dinner ... but I reckon we went sleeping soon after".

"Had something happened yesterday?".

Regina hesitantly replied,

"No .... Nothing ".

Then she took a water bag to wash her face.

After a while we all heard,

Kyle's voice,

"Remember adventurers .... the snow storm is no more .... so we can spot monsters clearly now .....

stay vigilant to avoid any ambushes".
