49. The Games we Play...*

I kept my eyes on him inside the wagon. But he was sleeping soundly by the looks it. Anna played with his hair carefully, not to wake him.

I fixed my eyes on his expression..but nothing. He was sleeping like a baby. Is he sleeping? Or does he listening may..

" Stop staring sis.. it's creepy."

I turned my face away quickly.

" I wasn't staring..I always do that. " - I denied and confirmed it with a single sentence.

" Yeah..my previous statement still alive and well." - Eli laughed with Dem and my mother.

I pouted but forced my attention to the others.

Then next to me, Zephyr stretched and locked his arms around Anna who laughed loudly and pulled her in for a kiss on her hair and kept his eyes close.

He went back to sleep!! IS HE SLEEPING?Or.. It's like he ..no that's insane. He was sleeping!..or ..no..he slept, not teasing me.

" You doing it again. "

" Shut up Eli.."

I looked at my sister and sister in law with those grins. They saw me losing the battle of wits against my sleeping?..fiancee.

I tried my best to keep up with the conversation they had, about last night and how hopefully won't affect our trip too much going forward but kept glancing if he is up listening or ..

I maybe losing my mind over the most stupidest thing ever.

The ride was uneventful we made excellent time and at the end we arrived to the city gates. Alexander came and told us something that put another dent on our little trip.

" The city guards are checkin, for a blue haired individual..is Zephyr awake?"

I turned and nudged him a little to wake him, I can't believe I haven't touched him in like..12 hours. It felt uncomfortably long and it made my mind calmer the second I reached him.

He opened his eyes looking right at me with a slight slime. He reached up and removed some hair blocking my view.

" Why they want me Alex? "

" They didn't say. What do you want to do?"

He didn't answer letting his hand linger on my face. Then unfortunately did got up and walked outside

" We came here to have fun...let's have some. " - he stepped forward and talked to Alexander close behind. " If need be prepared to flee ..I cover. "

Before anyone could protest he was already moving and walked the front of the line with Alexander.

Lucian stayed with the wagons and told the Emils the situation.

I couldn't stay put and went outside and up until I saw them in conversation with two armed guards in the city's colours.

I walked closer until I heard them.

It wasn't hard the people in front of us heard and now knew who the guards searching for, so seeing the culprit standing in front caused quite a commotion.

" .. d what reason would you want me to follow you ? "

" Several reports came in this morning, about someone matching your description with supernatural abilities. A blessed by Ehlite. " - some huge individual talked to him slightly intimidated and kept his hand on his sword. " I assure you it's nothing serious. Our Lord Mai have one such individual as yourselves under his command. I'm sure you would be well compensated for your time."

They sounded polite considering, but it wasn't really a suggestion. They ordered him in front of the city Lord. I was afraid he will do something rash..but, what's even the point predicting him?

" It will my honor to meet him. Please give me a second to inform my companions so they can proceed without me. "

They nodded politely and let him walk away with Alexander. We needed to leave!

I went back to the wagons and waited them there. And waited..weren't they like 20 seconds behind me?

Only Alexander came back though. I could've sworn, I saw them walking here...both of them.

" Zephyr is being invited to see Lord Mai Sakarai the feudal Lord. He said to move along like we planned too. " - he looked terrified but, kept only looking at me. "I- I told him ab-about the Jobil Inn. He meet us there when he is..wait Lylly.!! "

I stepped closer and pulled his ears down to be at my eyesight.

" He left !!? Without telling ME!! Is that what you telling me Jartok!?"

" ..I told him you'd be like this..Ehlite!..he- he said .. said ... Good."

Good?

Ohhh...I felt my head pounding. He saw me watching and running back, then he just turned around..and said GOOD!?

Lucian smiled at the situation and shook his head stepped up and tried to separate us. " Calm yourself Lylly..perhaps let Alex go. He will be fine probably just gonna turn him down and..ou ouch ..Stoopp ok, ok noo..Eli?! .. a little help!!"

Lucian called his protector and fled my kicks.

" Sis..don't lose your composure, I bet you anything that's exactly what Zephyr wants."

I took a few deep breaths and it helped nothing!!..in effect it made it worst, but my sister words carried wisdom.

Stupid idiot..I'm gonna hurt him later.

" You are right... I'm marrying this winter. I'm a grown ass women. I have list and plans. " - I turned and left for the wagon. " Let's go pay those monkeys and let's get this blessed day begin in earnest. I'm gonna spend every coin he has."

" Yeah..isn't that what he told you? "

" Shut up Eli..."

We arrived finally and the city was busy but, not as it was last time or in November.

I went and lead the others straight to my favourite food stalls. I spent a fortune in five minutes just for sweets.

Eating them calmed me down better than any words, with actual good intentions behind them.

" You look better sis..."

" Frighkin Amahbazing.. want some? "

She just her shook head and showed her own.

I ignored the pity in her eyes and wiped off the peach jam from my face. I still had 45 buns with them..and yes I gave some to others already.

The shop owner almost cried when I paid for them...and no, I'm not gonna say the total number of buns purchased.

" When is dad coming back? "

Anna was with her grandmother and feed her some of her bun.

" I'm sure he will be before dark honey.."

We waited for Alex and the Emil brothers to sell the momba fruit a little away from us with hand gestures and angry frowns.

I saw Priests of Ehlite in their light blue robes with two circles one big and small intertwined with each other signified the two moons in the night sky, hurried away giving arrogant looks here and there to those they passed.

" I haven't see those robes in ages. My late Miles wanted to be one when a boy. He loved those colours. I wonder how he greet Zephyr."

I smiled gently at Miranda telling stories about Lucian late father.

He would love him of course, not just because his hair colour. Like most he would be drawn in. Pulled by his charisma, strength and loyalty. And his looks.

Inner beauty was great..but let's face it. We love beautiful things. It's nothing wrong with that, it's just the way things are.

For these reason sometimes I wondered, why would someone like him want me?

But then those thoughts washed away by his love, his kisses and scent. The way he looked at me..eyes full of passion and ..ughh.

Hurry back my love.

I lost all my resolve just by letting my mind wonder.

I ate some more buns to distract myself, from my somewhat dirty thoughts..
