Chapter Three

After detective Marcus Parks his black mustang outside of Club Coco Cabana, he walks out of the car and rushes to my side. Detective Marcus is already opening my door for me. I blush for the thousand time tonight and I get out of the car. I take a final look at detective Marcus. He looks uncomfortable outside of his element, but he looks amazingly handsome, too handsome.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes but wait a minute, we have to get a few things straight before going into the club. First you are not a detective tonight, you're just Mark having a good time in the club. If anyone talks to you and they ask you what you do for a living, you have to make up a lie. You cannot tell anyone you are a detective."

"So I pretty much have to make up a false identity for tonight?"

"Well yes I guess you do, accept you can keep your name."

"I see, since I'm not a detective tonight and we are both going into the club together, would that mean you are my date."

"No, it wouldn't, because that would mess my up my plan if people thought I was anything to you." Jenifer said, but felt sad about it because she would more than anything love to be his date tonight. A sad look passed across detective Marcus, but was easily replaced with a smile.

"That's right, I completely forgot about this mystery plan of yours for a minute. I guess I got too excited. Alright then let's go shall we?"

"Yes, but also, once we are inside the club you have to act like you don't know me." We started walking after that in complete silence. As we walked closer to the club I see a neon colored letters that spell out, "Coco Cabana."

Jenifer P.O.V

This club looks huge on the outside with black walls. Looks a little too dark if you ask me, I don't know how teenagers come to this club, what brings them here. Because, one glance at this club and I'm ready to run away from it. I ignore my gut that tells me this is a very bad idea, and push myself through the clubs doors and walk into them.

It may have looked big on the outside but it is freakishly huge from the inside. This club has at least three bars, but there could be another one somewhere upstairs. In the middle of the club there are what looks to be a couple hundred people on the dance floor, with the three bars around each corner making it look like a big circle around the dance floor. To the corner of each bar are a ladies and a gentlemen restrooms.

I wasn't expecting the club to look massively huge, I don't even know how to look for the guy who is holding all the missing teenagers in some cold basement. The basement I need to get myself into, in order to save those girls. I walk over to the bar to my right and sit down to observe everything and everyone. I order a coke while I watch everyone on the dance floor.

After what seemed like an hour I finally just gave up. As I was about get up from the bar Detective Marcus comes and sits next to me and orders a beer.

"Any luck finding the guy?" Detective Marcus asks without looking at me. Anybody near us wouldn't think we were even talking to one another.

"No, what about you, have you had any luck?"

"No, this place is huge for a teenage club. I just don't get it, what's so great about this club, and then they sell liquor to teens. Everyone here is lucky I'm not a detective tonight." I start to giggle a little.

"So what do you want to do now? Do you want to go home now that we are not having any luck finding this guy?" I say, hoping we don't have to leave. I like being near Detective Marcus and it would suck to have to say goodnight to him.

"Hmm, I have another thing in mind."

"Whats that?" Without saying another word Detective Marcus stands up and holds out his hand in front of me. I blush and look side to side, then I take his hand and let him lead us to the crowded dance floor. My heart starts to race very fast, because I'm about to dance with a very sexy detective. As we were about to start dancing a slow song came on, I blushed even deeper. Detective Marcus pulls me into him and we start to slow dance.

"Are you still in high school?"

"No, I graduated last year, I'm actually turning nine-teen tomorrow."

"Why didn't you tell me, we were just at the mall I could have got you something for your birthday."

"I think the dress is enough for a birthday gift."

"What about your parents? I noticed the times I came over your parents weren't around." I stayed silent for a while just thinking about my parents.

"They both died when I was seven-teen years old. I have been living on my own and working since I was seven-teen.

"I'm so sorry to hear that. Im surprised the child protective services never came to get you or another family member to take you in."

"I had no other family members I knew of, so I ran away to Missouri, I'm from Florida." Detective Marcus pulled me closer into him to the point we are practically hugging. We stayed like this, so close to each other, swaying our bodies together to the music. We didn't talk about anything else, we just got lost in our self and in the music to notice the kidnapper looking straight at me from upstairs.

As usual he's dressed in a black suit and as easy as that I was swept into a vision. This time I wasn't strapped down about to get my throat slit. I was in the dark cold basement. I waited for my eyes to get adjusted before I started to walk around. This place gives me the creeps and it's always too cold like I'm in a freezer. Right then I see the table I was on in my last vision, and then it hit me. This isn't a basement, this is an underground private morgue. I start to walk to get a little familiar with this place to find an escape in here but there were none.

What I find instead are small doors that would hold a dead body when a doctor would do an autopsy on. I walk towards those doors and open them one by one. Each body I find is of a teenage girl and they all have their throats slit except for one. This body, instead of a slit throat, has her face cut off. I started to throw up and just like that I was back at the club laying on the dance floor with Detective Marcus giving me mouth to mouth CPR. I coughed and tried to stand up but got dizzy and fell back down. Detective Marcus picks me up and carries me out of the club and into his car. Every light we pass feels like a huge blast inside of my head. I didn't notice my body shaking till Detective Marcus put his suit jacket over my shoulders.

"What happened back there in the club. I was holding you and the next thing I know you fainted and wouldn't wake up." Detective Marcus asks me while driving.

"I had a vision."

"What was it about?"

"This whole time I thought the girls were being kept in a basement, but they aren't. They are being kept in an underground private morgue. I found at least a dozen teenage bodies that all had slit throats except one. The one that didn't, had her face cut off. That's when I came out of the vision."

We stayed silent until we got to my house. Detective Marcus rushed to my door, he opened the door and in no time at all picked me up again and carried me into my house. He gently placed me onto my bed and pulled the covers over my body. He went to turn around to leave but I stopped him.

"Don't leave, can you please stay with me tonight? I don't want to be left alone." Detective Marcus looks around my room to see where to sleep but found nothing.

"I'll sleep on your couch down stairs, is that fine?"

"No, it's not fine, I want you in here with me beside me, I'll feel safe if you were close to me." Without saying anything detective Marcus gets in bed with me and holds me, I. Instantly fall into a deep soundless sleep.

I woke up to the smell of eggs, bacon, and toast. I got out of bed and walked into my bathroom to brush my teeth and wash up. I put on a pair of jeans before heading down stairs. When I get down stairs I see that the table is already set with two plates of eggs, bacon, and toast. Two sets of forks and two glasses of orange juice. I sit down at the table with Marcus sitting across from me. "What is this, my birthday breakfast?"

"Hmm it's to start your birthday off to a good start today, but I have other plans as well for later."

"oh? Like what?"

"it's a surprise Jenni." I start to smile while eating.

"Jenni?"

"yes?"

"Do you have a boyfriend?" I asked bluntly.

"No I'm single, most guys won't be able to handle me having visions. They would think I'm weird or crazy, so I just stay single, I find it easier."

"I'm not most guys, and I don't think you're weird or crazy, I think what you have is special."

"what are you trying to say?"

"let me take you out on a date tonight Jenni. You got to have fun some times right?"

"I guess you're right, I would love to go on a date with you."
