4-Early Complications

I spent a good portion of the remaining school day just exploring the system, that was until a familiar and unexpected visitor along with two other officers appeared in the building, looking as though they are looking for me as the man in question tracks me down with his eyes and locks onto me.

"Detective Tsukauchi?" I mumble under my voice.

"Excuse me there little sir, are you Raiden Mishimoto by any chance?" The man in a tan hat and trench coat says with a friendly disposition as he approaches me with the principal by his side.

"I'm sorry if this is about this," I say as I summon Emperor in my hand, startling the man who can see the aura outline of the gun in my hand.

"I...*ahem* no, that's not why we are here," Tsukauchi says as he kneels to my level, looking as though he is struggling to say what he needs to. His reaction piques my curiosity as my mind begins to race as to why three cops would be trying to talk to a preschooler, not even bothering them with the fact I have a gun-based "Quirk". The realisation hits me as I think of my "Parents" just as he confirms it.

"Your parents were in a..."

"Accident and there dead, aren't they..." I say as my expression dampens. I didn't have any feelings for them, but it still hurt to hear for some reason, most likely a response due to the memories I had that were those people's baby boys. Because of me, he wasn't able to cry for them.

"My god" The detective whispers to himself as he massages the bridge of his nose. "Tripple check for any next of kin. Do you have any family to speak of little guy?" Tsukauchi

"no, not that I know of," Raiden says as he stares at the ground with a dampened expression.

Sometime later, most of the children begin to get picked up, including Momo who doesn't want to leave out of concern for her new friend.

"Why, why don't you want to leave sweetheart?" Momo's father asks his daughter who stares at Raiden sitting in the hallway.

"His parents passed away daddy!" Momo says as a teardrop runs down her cheek, feeling terrible for her friend.

"What's the boy's name?" Momo's father asks out of curiosity.

"Raiden Mishigoto," Momo says, slightly forgetting how to say his name.

"M-Mishimoto..." He says with a shocked look on his face.

"That can't be..." Momo's mom says as she stares at her husband who is doing the same.

Momo's father walks over and past the boy to Detective Tsukauchi who is talking with the Principal.

"Excuse me, are you an officer?" Momo's father asks.

"Thank you for your time. Yes, I'm a Detective with the NPA, is there a problem?" Tsukauchi responds as he finishes talking with the principal, turning his attention to the businessman infront of him.

"May I ask what is happening with this boy?" Momo's father asks.

"Are you a next of kin?" Tsukauchi asks.

"N-no, I was his parents boss, Kenji Yaoyorozu, CEO of Kiwi Electronics. Haruto and Akari Mishimoto were the best workers I have ever had" Kenji says.

Tsukauchi's Quirk 'Lie Detector', does presisely as it says he can sense even the smallest mislead from the truth. The Detective couldn't sense one ounce of falsehood from this man's words.

"Well, we haven't had any luck of contacting any next of kin. They don't seem to have any family to speak of within a reasonable distance and who could pass the requirements.

"Would it be possible for him to stay with us?" Kenji asks.

"It's a tricky subject. We would need h..." Tsukauchi tries to speak, but is suddenly cut off.

"I accept!" Raiden calls out.

"Even then, it could take a minimum of three months to have a background check, court date, and other legal dealt with before a decision could be struck with the supreme court" Tsukauchi finishes saying.

"And where will he stay in the meantime?" Kenji asks.

"That part hasn't been decided yet," Tsukauchi responds.
