Trying To Heal Her Broken Heart

As All Might wasn't able to sustain his form much longer, he sadly shrank back into his old and frail form.

Inferno's wife was surprised at first, but after being silenced by All Might's warning she didn't care about it anymore.

"After that, I chased after the villain and I... Executed him," Toshinori said. He still wasn't satisfied with what he did.

Monsters appeared 300 years before quirks did. However, only a handful of them had appeared on the surface of the earth.

While, normal people knew that monsters existed, most of them didn't even see a single monster their entire lives.

Police and scientists from all around the world were researching, where the monsters actually came from. What they found, left them dumbfounded, as it appeared that monsters arrived to the earth through some weird gates.

Numerous squads of soldiers were sent through the gates to investigate, but they never returned. Government officials from different countries held a meeting and decided that they would seal off those gates since they were too dangerous for humanity as a whole. Currently, Japan, had 4 confirmed gates which were sealed shut. All of that was before any quirk users appeared.

If, by any chance, there was a gate that wasn't discovered or even worse, appeared recently, then heroes might not only have to fight villains, but monsters as well. When All Might was in America, he fought with tons of monsters which escaped from a secret lab. Most of them were weak but some of them were pretty strong.

A scientist in Korea found out that a human could turn into a monster if certain conditions were met. It was unknown what those conditions were, although there is a possibility that the Korean government just didn't want to disclose such information.

All Might learned about Human-Monster transformations from an American scientist and even though he didn't know what the conditions were, he explained to All Might all about monsters and partial monsters. Even though Sludgenator was a villain, he was already a partial monster. But still, All Might felt conflicted.

'Villains shouldn't be killed, but locked up. I will never ever do something like that again... I thought I promised myself that after I dealt with All for one.'

Inferno's wife stood up and angrily kicked down a table, cutting it in half in the process. "How fucking bad can my day get," she mumbled and stretched her joints.

"May I ask madam?"

"Just call me Lilian. I ain't a madam. I am more like a widow now."

"Okay... Lilian... I am on the brink of crying... How are you so strong? How are you holding up?" Toshinori asked.

She looked at him and saw that tears welled up in his eyes.

'Look how much he cared about you, you fool, and you said you had no friends.' she thought.

She sat back down on the sofa and replied, "I am holding it in. Trust me. I can't fuck up my image in front of strangers. Tonight, my pillow gotta take one for the team haha." She laughed but All Might could tell it was all fake.

"When do you plan to have a burial?" All Might asked.

Her face turned sour immediately when she thought about it.

"Probably next week. I need to prepare myself and my daughter as well. Come to think of it, who the hell was that little brat that you brought with you?" Lilian asked.

"Ah, he is my potential protégé and apparently, he is your daughter's best friend. His name is Izuku Midoriya, a promising future hero." Toshinori replied.

Lilian widened her eyes and said, "So that's him. He was our topic every day for the last few years. She likes him but I know that he has another girl which is his childhood friend so, in my opinion, she stands no chance at all. Childhood friends always win, I won at least." She smiled as she thought about her school days.

"Ah, my youth... How I wish to return in time. I would try to save him." Lilian lamented.

"Our generation will eventually die, we need to nurture the younger generation for a better future, just like your husband chose to sacrifice himself to save civilians and his son." All Might replied with dignity.

"I agree with that. I tried to nurture my baby girl, but I didn't expect her to awaken another quirk. That's simply amazing. I am so glad for her. She would have many more opportunities as a hero with a fire quirk. My size expansion isn't as good."

Hours went by and All Might went home after parting with Izuku and Lilian. He still had to write a report about the whole incident that took place today.

As Inferno's corpse was still in Izuku's inventory, All Might told him that he would call him when he needed it.

Izuku agreed and planned on heading home, but Lilian persuaded him to stay the night in her daughter's room.

At first, Izuku was reluctant and didn't want to stay because he was really afraid his stay would inconvenience Itsuka, but he agreed and received a futon right by Itsuka's bed.

Of course, he had to call his mom to inform her that he will be staying at a friend's house.

His mother was crying out of happiness because he finally planned on having a sleepover at a friend's house and she completely agreed to it.

He spent his night in the girl's room, quietly thinking about stuff.

Once in a while, he heard muffled moans and cries of Lilian. At first, he didn't care, but she didn't stop so he came to check on her.

He opened her room and saw her, lying in a black nightgown while hugging a pillow and crying into it.

He took out some tissues, a cup and a water bottle from his inventory following which he placed all of those things on her table.

"Thank you Izu-kun."

Izuku nodded and quietly left the room.

He somehow managed to fall asleep and mentally prepared for another brutal day. He still needed to figure out what to do with Itsuka. Calming her down won't be easy.

Since Izuku was an early bird, he woke up at 4 am.

He wanted to go out for a jog to clear his head since he wasn't sure what to do with Itsuka, but his plan failed the moment she woke up 3 minutes after him.

Itsuka sat up and looked around her room in confusion.

"How are you feeling?" Izuku asked.

She looked at him with clouded eyes and replied,

"I feel really bad. My head is hurting and my whole body is hot and sweaty."

"Do you want me to clean the sweat out of you?" Izuku asked.

"Sure, go ahead." Itsuka agreed and took off her pajama top.

'Yeah, she is definitely out of the place. She would be too embarrassed to say yes, much less agree immediately.'

Izuku sighed and grabbed a nearby towel to wipe her back.

He slowly scrubbed her up and down, while trying not to stare much since she was completely defenseless.

' It's only her back Izuku...her front is safe... I won't do her front... I cannot take advantage of this situation. Especially not after what happened to her father.'

"So... It wasn't a dream... my father had...died..." a weak voice brought him back from his dreamland.

He didn't know what to say, so he just nodded.

"I see. I thought I just hit my head really hard and I had a bad dream. But after I woke up at night, I saw you leaving my room and I heard my mother's weeping, I knew that wasn't the case."

"So, you were up... I am not even sure what to tell you if I am honest. I just want you to survive this. I want my happy Itsuka back. I know that she won't be back so soon, but I believe you can do it. We are here for you, I am here for you." Izuku tried to reassure her.

He continued scrubbing her back until she calmed down.

"I-I can't scrub your front... Please, scrub it yourself... Here is the towel." Izuku's face was completely red and Itsuka found that relaxing. He handed her the towel and she began scrubbing her front.

"Say... Who do you like more? Me or Katsuro? Because I certainly like you more than Katsuro." Itsuka felt like teasing him. She loved all of Izuku's awkward faces.

She thought that if she teased him a bit, she might feel better. She wanted someone to heal her broken heart and figured that Izuku was fit for the job. Itsuka was smart and she understood her situation pretty well. Although she felt this kind of sadness for the first time, she figured that to fight the pain in her heart, she will have to accept an equal amount of love and happy feelings to compensate the sadness in her heart.

Izuku knew he would have to answer this kind of question someday, but he didn't have the answer yet.

"I-I like both of you the same... I cannot choose, I am sorry." he replied with some difficulty and apologized.

"I understand. It's fine. I am off to sleep then. Thank you Izu." She put her pajama top back on and went back to sleep.

Izuku was wondering why she even asked such a thing right after her father died. He knew that she was really hurt and it will take a long time for her to get back to normal, but as long as it helped her recover, Izuku would gladly do anything.
