Me vs The Soul Reaper (2)

From the unexpected blackout, I woke up not long after in a black room, surrounded by the prior darkness aura. The atmosphere was heavy with vapor from my sweat. I could normally breathe for the first time, but my lungs felt a lot of pain.

NARRATOR

Aoi looked left and right to check her surroundings. It was like she was in a black, empty theater with a giant LED screen in front of her, perceiving her body's surroundings.

It seemed like the doctors had reached the room after the alarm, and they rushed to bring Aoi's body inside. They were running like athletes, like their lives depended on her.

"Hey, doctors, slow down! It's getting dizzy in here, ya know?" She shouted.

Still, the doctors didn't respond to her even with her loudest scream. Aoi then dropped dead on the mattress and clapped her hands. "What if I'm dead? If I'm still subconscious, then I'm not right?" "Well, you kind of are dead." a voice answered.

"But what is this place? Why am I not seeing from my body's perspective? That means that I'm fainted, I think." "No, you are dead, but your brain is still conscious for 10 minutes. You've got 6 more minutes, girl."

"Then I... Die? Wait... Who even are you?" She asked. "Oh, no, I'm just a soul reaper. My name's Rach Noleine. Well, I guess in your language it should be Rakku Norein." "So when my time is up... You take my soul?"

"Not, you'll be transported into the Castle of Araris, where God will determine if you go to heaven, hell, or the 0,001 possibilities... Reincarnated... and even a 0,000,000,001 percent of being reincarnated into another world... Only 3 people have succeeded. You'll never get the chance."

Aoi put her eyes back on the screen. It seems like the doctors are trying their best to keep her alive. Aoi could feel the adrenaline rushing through her body even beyond the screen.

"There is also a chance that your heart beats again, and you get to stay alive." Aoi's breaths were getting more and more clear, as her body began to levitate, heading towards the screen.

"What's this? Rach? Rach? RACH!" Aoi was beginning to be pulled towards the screen.

AOI

I was scared at that time; The first time in years, you know. I pushed onto the ground and looked at Rach. He was a hooded handsome young man, but I felt what I felt with Artar. Rach is a psychopath. Then, I saw him pull out something from his pocket.

"No--no--Don't you tell me that's a--" Yes, Rach pulled out a giant scythe, about 7 meters in length and 3 in height. His hand glowed a blue color, addressing his job to take my soul. "I'm sorry, but it's the time," he said, probably in an assessed and joker-like voice. "For what?" I asked, but I knew that he was going to kill me for the second time, and I knew that he was the darkness who made me faint the first time I died.

Out of nowhere, a sword fell from the sky. It landed just in front of me, causing a banging sound and black dust to emanate a black cloud between me and Rach. I have read many fantasy books and fantasy games, but even using a sword exceeds my can and can'ts.

Despite that, I had the literal courage to pick up the sword and fight Rach. My heart was blazing aflame with devotion to life, but never cared about myself. Then, my eyes turned a shade of green. My body had become significantly fit and taller, and I felt like I could fight Rach.

Rach blew away the black clouds as he pulled off his coat. His spiky yet flowing red hair, which I thought was dyed, was wiped with a tissue by him. It turned white because the red was the outcome of his victims.

"Aoi Tsukiko Nachigimi... Your 14-year-old body is my FEAST!" He shouted while chuckling. I imagined the dark landscape as a field of viridescent weight that determined the fate of the land. The fields were surrounded by tens of thousands of people like this was the finale of a tournament.

Rach's psychopath side appeared as he lunged at me with his scythe, hitting the ground. I then ran towards the scythe and kicked it away. If I was still in my original human form, my leg would break apart.

Just then, a voice appeared.

"PHYSICAL STRENGTH, APPLIED, ZERO."

It spoke like a robot, and the sound was coming from a white sphere at the top of my vision. It didn't seem like Rach heard the voice. Suddenly I felt super de-energized, with my abs gone and my body slim as a stick.

I could barely walk toward Rach who was pulling his scythe out of the void. Then I fell down onto the floor, but not feeling any pain or dizziness. I opened my eyes again. Rach pulled it out and was running at me. About 60 meters away, I estimated.

The sound spoke again.

"VISION POWER, FIFTY"

Still, I didn't know what that meant, but my vision then became blurry. What if this voice is setting my... Stats, I guess. I've read about these "systems" in isekai light novels and manga. I've also used these stats in action games.

So, I tried messing with it. I purposely shouted "Magic, shoot!" to maybe set some stats for my magic so I could fight Rach.

"MAGIC POWER, SEVENTY-THREE POINT NINE HUNDRED AND FORTY-FIVE."

73. 945? All that mattered was it was 73 percent, and my physical abilities also improved. Then I tried shouting a magic attack, which I've also seen. "Umm... Fire... Ablaze!" Just as my mouth finished, a ball of fire came from my fingertips and small cinder rocks raged at Rach.

The aftermath of the explosions caused Rach to lose his defense mana, opening a thread for me to attack. I gripped the sword and ran at Rach, my speed going miles a second, as flames followed my steps.

In a final slash, I cut his head and all of the blue blood came out. It was a refreshing activity once in a while. His head gasped and tried to say something, but I already kicked it out of the arena.

The crowd applauded, as I was victorious. I set my sights on the screen, grabbing the scythe that was still stuck. Blood came out of my mouth, and I felt that I wanted to puke.

"Shit!" I shouted. I wiped the blood off and my vision went a bit better. I took two deep breaths, before I walked like a celebrity on the red carpet, toward the portal that was disguised as a simple LED 4K TV that was previously in my hospital room.
