Sudden Arrival

The atmosphere was getting hotter. In the dimly lit room, the only candles around and their scent made a perfect candlelit dinner for them. 

Jin blushed along with his ears getting red. Eunji observed his discomfort, so she thought to change the topic.

"Which desserts are you referring to? I mean the dark Chocolate Creme Brulee or the icing brownies ?" she batted her eyelashes in order to prove that she wasn't teasing him earlier.

" ..... " He couldn't speak for the moment, he bought that she was talking about the desserts and not some 'desserts' that he always had in his dreams.

"Um, icing brownies first ? *Hollow laugh* " Jin scratched his head realising how dirty his thoughts were.

"Sure" Eunji was disappointed with his behaviour of how he bought what she said. She didn't like the way he dealt with her.

~I think we are not compatible at all. I don't think he is the one with whom I will spend my life forever.~ she sighed and picked up her fork to resume eating her meal.

They both finished up their dinner, and were about to head bed when they noticed that the room has only one king-sized bed. They looked at each other with surprised faces but Jin turned away first getting embarrassed again.

~It looks like I've to think of something, because senior is all flushed with red cheeks.~ Eunji sighed and walked to the left side of the bed.

"Senior Jin, it's okay to sleep on the same bed, it's not like it's the first time anyway." she laid down on bed facing away from the right side of the bed where Jin is supposed to sleep, "but please make sure to keep a distance while you sleep."

His mind wandered back to the day when he held Eunji in his arms on the same bed that night when nothing was forbidden for him.

But he shook off his thoughts and laid on the right side of the bed next to Eunji.

𝘙𝘪𝘯𝘨..... 𝘙𝘪𝘯𝘨 ..... 𝘙𝘪𝘯𝘨 !! 

"Eh? ..." Eunji was awakened by her phone. Her eyelashes fluttered and she opened her eyes just to realise she was wrapped in someone's arm. The strong arms holding her in place were of Jin who was sleeping safe and sound.

𝘙𝘪𝘯𝘨..... 𝘙𝘪𝘯𝘨 ..... 𝘙𝘪𝘯𝘨 !! Her eyes flickered as her phone rang again. She moved Jin's arms and got off her bed to take the phone call, "It is 4am, who could call at this hour of midnight?"

Upon checking her call history, her eyes bulged "Mom called me?"

𝘙𝘪𝘯𝘨..... 𝘙𝘪𝘯𝘨 ..... 𝘙𝘪𝘯𝘨 !! Her Mom's name popped up on her phone's screen and she picked up the call this time.

"Where were you? Why was it so late to pick up my call?" her mom barked through the phone immediately after receiving her call.

"Hey mom, it's 4 am in the morning here? What's wrong? Why are you calling in the middle of the night?" She asked in a hushed voice making sure not to wake Jin.

"Apologies, actually I'm so excited that I couldn't resist myself from calling you." She sounded cheerful, "I'm coming to Tokyo tomorrow evening, you must come to the airport."

"Oh, so soon? Is your work over in Seoul ?" walking over to the couch, she slid the curtains and looked at the night sky where the moon was about to set, bringing the dawn of the new day.

"Are you disappointed about that? You should be happy that I'm visiting you early this time leaving my work." Her mom fired back.

"You are leaving your work and visiting me? Why mom?" Eunji got worried but still asked in a hushed tone.

"I have something important to do with you in Tokyo. It's very important." Her mom coughed before asking, "by the way, why are you whispering through the phone? Is there anyone else with you?"

"Ah— no mom! Actually, I'm at a friend's place and she is sleeping on the bed next to me, so I don't want her to wake up." Lying to her mom hurt her feelings, but she considered it was a small white lie.

"Don't mess up things! I must see you at your apartment when I arrive tomorrow. I'll send my arriving details on WeChat to you." 

"Alright mom, see ya!" she smiled looking at the sky that had numerous stars but none can be seen.

"Have some sleep, goodnight. Mommy loves you very much."

"Take care and love you too." She was calm before she hung up.

"Why did your mom call this late at night? Is everything alright?" He woke up and overheard only the later conversation, so assuming what he heard, he was concerned about her.

"Yeah everything is good, mom called to inform me that she will be arriving tomorrow and I need to go to the airport to pick her up." She was still watching the sky.

Jin walked over to the glass window and stood next to Eunji. "I'll drop you at the airport tomorrow, you and your mom can hail a cab from there or I'll send a car. Just let me know the time and which airport she will be arriving."

"Sure Senior." she smiled seeing Jin's reflection on the glass window.

"What's with her sudden arrival here ?" he asked looking over at her reflection on the window.

"She said she has something very important to do. It's still a mystery why she is coming so suddenly —" she was cut off in the middle.
