SURVIVING

"What is that?!"Henry gasped as he looked at the distance in the woods.Everyone could see a huge dragon in the forest,which gave them horrific thoughts.With its size, they were sure the thing would destroy the whole kingdom.

"Kim,Jack,come with me.You are the only reliable ones.We must stop that thing,"Henry spoke with fear,"The rest go back to the palace and report.The two boys and I will slow it so that it won't follow you back!"

Glen never knew what to do in this situation.He had knowledge about dragons,so he knew that this was an Amphiptere.These type of dragons were supposed to be extinct.He learned that the species was eliminated by someone known as the supreme being.The reason was unknown to them.But with how Glen was smart,he knew that someone would do anything to destroy something that is a threat to the world.But due to the demon attacks,and the supreme being not heard off,he analysed that the Amphiptere were a threat to him.

He also clearly understood what these creatures could do.They had a variety of skills and abilities according to how much energy they consumed.The more they consume,the stronger they get.This brought about a fact to Glen that maybe these beasts were able to consume the supreme being's energy.

The two stared at each other,no one making a move.Glen realised that when he moved,the eyes of the dragon would follow him without even blinking.He became confused as to why the beast would be so calm.He disregarded the idea of being the attacker.

"Are you okay fingerling?!"A hand touched his left shoulder and when he turned,he saw it was Jack,Kim and Henry.He twisted his shoulder freeing it from Jack's touch.

"What happened?"Henry had to ask as he was unable to look at the dragon in the eye.Glen didn't give an answer to this.He knew if he told them, they will end blaming him of bringing the creature to life.

"Those will be questions you'll answer in King Arthur's court."Glen didn't have a good feeling of what Henry just said.He didn't know anything about the king's attitude and his level of madness.

Without a word,the shirtless boy,Kim,drew a sword from his left sheath.He held the hilt so tightly with his gauntlet and pointed it at the dragon.

"Is he crazy?!"Glen was shocked by this,"The dragon had not attacked yet!You will make it angry!"

"Whether it's angry or not, it's a threat to humans,"Jack spoke as his fists started to ignite in flames."This thing must go down!"Kim was the first one to attack as he ran to the dragon.Jack was throwing punches in the air from his position directing them to the dragon.When his hand stretched,balls of fire were shot to the creature.They hit its skin,but nothing more happened.Not even a scorch.

In striking position,Kim leapt into the air shouting,then he slash diagonally making a slight cut on the creature's huge foot.So far the dragon had not reacted to the flames because it had thick scales,but the boy below it was somehow special that he was able to make it slightly bleed.It raised the foot causing Kim,who was on it to fall on the ground.At a perfect height,it launched the foot downwards aiming to stomp on Kim.

Henry moved from his position as he used his special boots to improve his speed.He picked Kim by the stomach landing him on his shoulders then dashed backwards from the targeted surface.The foot had hit the ground so hard that it caused Earth shake and creating a large crater.Though Jack could see that his flames did nothing,he continued to shoot.Suddenly out of the blue,the dragon's eyes began to glow brighter,then all of Jack's flames that were midair stopped.They spiralled and then mixed up together.

"What the hell!"Jack screamed,"That reptile can control my flames?!"Before he said something else the flames had condensed then divided to hundreds of hand size solid fire orbs."This isn't good,"Glen was backing up as he tripped on a twig causing him to fall on his back.The hundreds of orbs were shot towards them with great speed each leaving a trail of flames behind.

"Everyone get behind me!?"Henry shouted as he took the shield that was always on his back and held it foward.He twisted a type of hand lever and the shield's size increased twice covering everyone.The fire balls hit the so intensely. Unexpectedly,after an orb would hit the shield,it reversed and then hit again with a greater force.It was as if they became strong after each hit.

The shield caught fire as it was breaking down and dispersing."The shield won't hold us for long!"Henry strained as his hands were becoming numb,"Everyone is now on his own.Run away from here!"Though some people would say 'rum away I'll slow it down ', Henry knew this was not the type of case.He dropped the shield that was now burning and ran for it.The others followed behind in the intension of saving their lives.It would seem to be stupid of them,but with how strong the beast is,they had no other idea.

The balls followed them behind.They had to go separate ways and see if the dragon will be able to trace the balls behind each one of them.And that is what it did.The group of orbs divided in quarter,each number of quarter following one person.

Glen was able to outmatch the attacks on speed.But dew to how drained he was,from all the fighting then 70% of his energy stolen,he had become slower.The twenty-five or so fire balls hit him from behind causing him to fall on the ground.He turned around laying on his back and he blurry saw the balls hovering above him.Then from the corner of his eyes he could see the dragon flapping its large wings, lifting itself from the ground.Glen collapsed.
