"Thanks for the coffee, Della!"
Della smiled and continued to her class after she gave one of her mother's coffee orders to the driver. Della went back as fast as she could because she didn't know what her mom would do in her absence. Della felt worse the closer she got to her classroom. Della tried to stay calm, as she hoped her mother wouldn't be too angry this time.
Since the queue at the coffee shop was quite long, Della was late to return and could only stay outside the classroom when her homeroom teacher started talking in front of the class. Della looked at her mother with worry. The woman's expression was not good, signaling that something bad happened when she went out earlier.
Della already knew what caused her mother to be so surly. Her mother already knew she liked to play games. It was all over for her.
