Interruption

"Can't we forget what happened in the past?"

Xu Lina looked surprised.

"We? Who are you talking about? It's just 'you' and 'me'. It was never 'we' or 'us'."

"You! you had already forgotten all that and lived your colorful life."

"As for me....."

*Knock* Knock*

She was interrupted by the door knock.

Both looked at each other. Xu Lina raised an eyebrow and pointed at the door with her chin.

Mo Zhang wanted to hear her answer but now it seems like he wasn't going to have one.

"Come in." Mo Zhang spoke in a grumpy tone.

The door opened with a creak and three heads popped in. After seeing their parents in bed and especially their Mommy sitting awake, the kids showed no hesitation and immediately ran in, toward the bed.

"Mommy!" The three kids shouted in union. There was undoubtedly excitement in their voice and joy in their eyes.

Xu Lina immediately smiled brightly.

Mo Zhang was dazzled by it. He had been talking with her for so long but there was a cold aura emitting from her with not so good expression on her face.

But now after looking at the kids, her cold aura immediately melted and she gave off a very warm and affectionate felling. Also her smile was really happy and beautiful.

Mo Zhang felt jealous that this smile and warm feeling was not from him but for the kids.

But he himself didn't realize the reason for his strange behaviour.

The kids climbed into the bed, one after another. Xu Lina opened her arms and took them in. She kissed the forehead of each and asked.

"Did you miss me?"

The kids nodded vigorously.

"Are you okay now? You made us so worried, last night." Mo Guang asked worriedly. With that he also stretched out his hand and put it on his mother's forehead to check her temperature.

Xu Lina smiled gently and grabbed his hand.

"I am fine, my dear. I was just tired and nothing."

But the kids didn't let her go.

"What about the bruise on your forehead? Why are you hurt? How did you get hurt?" Mo Huang asked a series of questions.

Three pair, no, four pairs of eyes looked at her eagerly. Mo Zhang had his ears fully erect.

"..." Xu Lina. "Well, I just got slipped and fell."

"No big deal, It'll be fine after some days."

She casually waved her hand and said lightly.

"Okay....!" Before the kids could asked her any more questions, she hurriedly changed the topic.

"Have you guys had your breakfast?"

"No...." The kids shook their heads in union.

"Then, let's hurry! Go to your room and freshen up. Let's meet at the breakfast."

She hurriedly made them get up from the bed. The kids obediently went out and they didn't forget to close the door of the room.

"sigh....." Xu Lina closed her eyes and took a relieved sigh.

Mo Zhang looked at her relieved face. He didn't believe her lie nor did the kids. But to find out the truth.... He has to gain her trust, which he doesn't have.

He didn't want to continue the previous conversation as he knew it wouldn't go right. He was very thankful for kids to interrupt at that point and also a bit regretful too. He wanted to know her thoughts but at the same time was afraid of hearing them as well.

He hurriedly got out of the bed.

"I am going to bathroom." He told her without any eye contact and hot into the bathroom quickly.

Xu Lina opened her eyes when she heard the door being closed.

Her expression changed in to a painful one. The wound on her back hurt.

She just took a breath and tried to bear it.

She looked around the room. Every thing was same. Nothing has changed. Just that her expectations and his behavior.

They got reversed.

Her gaze fell on the photo frame on the bedside table. Their wedding photo. It should be in the drawer. She put it there and the servants wouldn't open the drawers of their employer's bedroom. So unless, he himself brought it out, it was impossible for it to be out on its own.

She involuntarily picked it up.

She looked at herself in the picture, which was completely different from her now. Maybe not. She didn't know.

She got out of the bed. By this time, Mo Zhang came out of the bathroom wearing only a towel around his waist and one towel drying his hair. Xu Lina looked at him and felt a little shy but she didn't give him a chance to look at her or see he shyness. She quickly got in the bathroom and locked the door with a click.

Mo Zhang looked at the locked door with his eyebrows raised and a sly smile appeared on his face. He casually humming a tone got into his, no sorry, their walk-in closet and looked at the neatly arranged ladies and gents clothes.

Some days ago, since he had thought of living together with Xu Lina, he had already arranged latest designs for her and remodified the walk-in closet.

Mo Zhang dressed up and sat down on the sofa, waiting for his wife.

Xu Lina came out in a long bathrobe, with her hair tied in a towel.

She paused for a moment seeing Mo Zhang sitting there.

Mo Zhang pointed at a door and said, "Go get changed. There are clothes ready for you. Just for you" He emphasized "just for you".

Xu Lina, though, began to walk in the pointed direction still kept looking at Mo Zhang with a strange and complicated expression on her face.

She got in and was surprised to see the walk-in closet. The ladies clothes were of latest collections.

She looked around and selected a casual half white and half light blue dress with white flats.

After dressing up, she combed her wet hair. She didn't have habit of drying her hair with a hairdryer. She just let them dry naturally.

After looking at herself in the mirror she finally stepped towards the door.

she held the door knob and took a deep breath. She still didn't know if Mo Zhang had left or was still sitting there.

Finally she turned the door knob and opened the door.
