Depending on your level you can start using a ranked spell. 0 Rank spells are mostly used by Early, apprentice, or higher-level mages. 1st rank spells are used mostly by Primary or higher-level mages. 2nd rank spells are mostly used by scholars, graduate, perfect and higher-level mages. 3rd rank spells are mostly used by first, magister, adept, and higher-level mages. 4th rank spells are used by Archsages and sages. 5th rank spells are quite rare and barely found since the only ones that can use them are sages. 5th rank spells are spells crafted by the sages.]
