Why did this happen?

"We all know you're strong Kallista, but we don't want to hurt you." I say while gripping my sword.

"You just don't understand Sevarian." Kallista responds as a bright light begins to form behind her.

I watched as bright light began to form around her, it was one of her forms of power. I remember seeing her use some of her power awhile back when we fought against the mobs.

Come on Kallista, please come back to your senses. Aren't you a hero?

{Firewall}

A wall of flames formed in front of us and began to cover us as a beam of light blasted the wall. Booom!!!

I couldn't make out what was happening on the other side but I knew the flames were starting to give way to the light. Her attack is too strong to withstand the amount of damage she's inflicting.

A small cube formed in my empty hand and I just instinctively held it up towards the flame wall. I've had this in my inventory for some time now and haven't had a chance to see if it does anything, nows the chance.

Swishhhh!!!! The flame wall broke apart as the beam of light pierced through, but it stopped right before me.

The cube was holding it back, what is this thing capable of?

"Rika get Elizabeth out of here! I got this!" I shout while holding back the beam.

"I don't want to just leave you behind!" She shouts back with worry in her voice.

I'm glad that she feels the way she does but I don't want anyone to get hurt anymore. I've had enough of this day already.

"It'll be okay, I'll meet you up top." I say with a slight smile on my face.

Best way to reassure her, showing that I can smile in tough times like this. I need her to get Elizabeth out of here so that we can battle this out without restrictions.

Kallista doesn't seem to have any issues using her full power against me.

"Fine but don't do anything stupid Sevy!" Rika shouts while picking up Elizabeth.

Bam!!!!! Shatter!!!! The force holding back her beam fell apart as it made contact with me after so long.

"Kallista stop this already!" I scream while in pain.

It felt like it was piercing right through me and the pain was going throughout me once more. I might not be strong enough to stop her if this keeps up.

The beam stop dealing damage before long but I could tell that she didn't realize it just yet. This is the perfect opportunity for a surprise attack since she doesn't understand what's happening yet.

New spell learned, "King of Souls Fireball".

Infused with the undead king and the keeper of souls I have created another version of the fireball. The damage from this has to be pretty good for the amount of power I've poured into it.

Instantly the fireball formed within my hand but the color was completely different from the infusion of power. The fireball had turned completely black, this was definitely a lot different.

I'm sorry Kallista, you should be okay after this hits.

Swish!! The fireball went flying out of my hand, right through her beam directly towards her.

"Huh?" Kallista questions to herself.

In but a few moments I could see a flash of black flames exploding upon impact. The explosion took up half the area, leaving smoke everywhere.

I couldn't see Kallista or even identify how much health she had left. Did it even connect?

Kallista's POV.

I don't know what happened, did he really survive that attack? I never took Sevarian as weak but somehow he survived and managed to attack me back.

The entirety of the area is no longer visible but yet it's suddenly bright here.

Why was I fighting against Sevarian again? Did I even have a good reason to begin with...?

My head is killing me, all the memories from my past are coming back.

{Years ago, In the world of Azeth}

Zombies, skeletons, adventurers, and more were common in my world. I wasn't always a hero though, that took a lot of time for me to reach.

"Elzi are you ready to go? We have an opportunity to enter the dungeon today." A boy asks with a bit of excitement in his voice.

"Of course. This is the best way to prove ourselves." I respond while picking up my sword.

Originally I wanted to become a knight for the kingdom of Menthez, but that changed when we met the monarch. He showed up after the completion of the first two dungeons.

"Zeke let's show how good we can be as knights!" I shout with excitement in my voice.

[Outside the dungeon of Menthez]

A massive gateway was before us, this was the dungeon of Menthez. The first dungeon to be found in the world, thanks to the hero Kami.

Kami was the first hero to save the world against the danger of the demon lord, it's thanks to her that we are here today.
