Chapter 63- The Edmondo's new Place.

Raina's POV.

The Edmondo's new place was more magnificent than I thought, I didn't see it well from where I stood at the car, but Bas taking me out of the car and passing the little pathway that was like a garden made me realize that we were just at the outskirts of the place.

I sighed as the place came into view, I must have missed a lot when I slept in the car.

The place was like a castle with many houses built around.

I could feel water rush and I stretched my neck and found a water fountain in the middle, it was round and designed with marbles, the water was running in circular motion, it even created different shapes and they were colours in it.

I looked around and saw the other houses, they were up to fifteen houses built, some were small, and some were larger, the one in the middle which faced the corridor we came out from and the fountain was the largest, it looked like that was the main house.

The houses were all painted in creamy colours, but they had different designs.

The biggest house has a different design in front, the stairs were also marble stones, each other houses has little pathways and marble walls, but no stairs, the biggest house was higher than the rest, hence the stairs.

"That's my own place over there," I turned to the direction of Bas hands and I saw his house it was at the last end at our right.

"Oh wow," I paused taking in the house, "so we'll stay there after the dinner?" I asked.

"Yes, we'll spend the night here, if that's okay with you." He said.

"Yeah, I'm sure I'll be fine with staying here, as long as it's just you." I replied.

"Yeah, I'm the only one who stays there, Lyn house is also close,  Gabriel stays with his family at the house close to the big one." I nodded at his explanations.

"Okay, that's fine," I pointed to the house in the middle, "I believe your parents stay there right?" I said.

"Yeah, they do, and some of my cousins and other close vampires, that the other houses couldn't contain, I didn't want anyone staying close to me or with me, so some have their own places with their families and some stay in the big house." He explained.

"We need to enter the house now," he said as he took my arms, " I believe they are awaiting us at the dinning hall." He added.

"About the food?" I turned to him and he smiled.

"I prepared half of the food we'll eat today and don't worry, I made yours too." He said.

"That's better, I don't want to be selective in front of all those people there, it'll look weird." I said.

"Nothing about you is weird, so just earnestly be yourself, we'll be sitting together." He said as we walked together into the main house.

I held my breathe for a while as we walked inside, I didn't know how to feel, I can remember the last time I went to a gathering with the Edmondo's and I was hurt, it was going to be a house filled with vampires, I was going to be the only human sitted there among them.

I could feel the air leave my throat and lungs totally and I tired breathing but it didn't work, I faltered at the entrance and Bas held me tightly, he must have felt my discomfort because he hugged me and patted my bag softly.

"It's okay, it's okay baby, you're fine, I'm with you, I'm close to you, nothing will hurt you." He said softly.

"If you can't enter, I could tell them I'm we're not coming anymore, all that matters is you being okay." He said.

"No it's okay, I just needed to catch my breathe a little, I'm fine, we should not keep them waiting." I said with a small smile.

"You're going to be the most gorgeous person in the room, so you shouldn't loose your confidence or anything alright, and I know you can take care and defend yourself, I've seen it first hand," he said with a smile and I laughed, "so get in there alright, and we'll sit together." He added.

I straightened, taking his hands and tilting my head, telling him I was ready to go inside.

"Now that's my girl." He said and I laughed.

"And one more thing, I'm sorry for making us delay, I'm sure they'll be annoyed with me." I said.

"Nah, I'm not upset, you're the most important to me right now, so as long as you're okay, then we can go." He said.

"Wow, the house is so..," I paused still lost for words as we went inside, there was a long corridor, and two passage, he took my hands to the left, we walked for few seconds and I gasped as the dining hall came into view.

It was really magnificent, extravagant and huge too.

I felt everyone's attention turn to us, when we walked into the dinning hall.

The dinning hall was large and it has up to fifty chairs with a very long table, the were pillars at the sides and chandeliers hunged around each middle part in the ceiling.

I gripped his hands harder and he held my tighter, "good evening everyone." He said.

"I'm sorry we're late, we just had a little thing to talk about." He added and I saw several mumbles and nods from them.

"Good evening everyone, I'm pleased to be here." I said softly taking my seat with Bas immediately he sat down he gestured to the seat close to him, I sat down and heaved a sigh of relief, I could still feel the stares, but I raised my head up and offered a small smile.

"Welcome, dearie." I smiled wider as I realised that I sat facing Lyn and Gabriel, I nodded to both of them and they did too with a smile.

"Can we now start the dinner, I've been waiting for Sebastien and a his human girl to come in for ages, I'm tired of waiting, I was also tired of hearing you convince her to come inside." I stilled immediately I heard that, I turned to the person who said that and mate a pale looking guy raising his brows at me, I saw Lyn glare at him.

"You've been itching to say that, I could hear you loudly, before you worded it, keep your nastiness to yourself." Bas said and the smile left the guys face.

"Wow, Sebastien, just wow, you're already attacking me because of a human girl." He said.

"Grow up Victor, can't believe you're still childish." Bas replied.

"Can we start the dinner already." I heard a voice say and everyone turned to the voice.

I noticed a man sitting in the middle, "welcome Grandson, though we've been waiting for a long time." He said.

"I'm sorry, I didn't come early, we were busy at work and I also had to make sure she's comfortable." Bas said.

"Well, I'm happy we can start eating, without nuisance and side talks." Lyn said with a mischievous smile,I saw Victor glare at her but she kept smiling, blinking like she was oblivious to his glare, Gabriel back out a laugh.

"I see you're still the same Evelyn, jumping at everyone with every chance you get." Victor said.

"I see you're still not out of your diapers yet, boy." Lyn retorted.

"Now that's enough, let's be cordial," I heard another voice say, I noticed the man I met when I went to the Edmondo's old house, Sebastien looked a lot like him.

"Welcome dear Raina," the man said with a smile, "we've met, though briefly when you came to our old house." He said.

"Yes, I remember, Good evening once again." I bowed slightly and he nodded with  a smile.

"I hope you're comfortable," the woman close to him said, I figured she was his mom, Lyn had her looks too.

"I am, thanks." I said.

"Oh, wow, Sebastien mate is a fragile egg, I'm sure Grandfather won't want that for him." Victor said with a smile.

"Yeah, he won't, mates are not that important, you can choose any life partner, it doesn't have to be the one the mother destined you to be with." A voice said and I turned to her, she smiled at me venomously and I stilled.

"Grandfather doesn't choose, who I want to spend my remaining life span with, no one does, that's my choice." I heard Bas say.

"Are you just saying this because she's your mate and you feel like you have to marry or end up with her." The girl said.

"Nah, I was way attracted to her the first day I met her , and I didn't even know we were mates, being mate isn't the main reason she's with me." Bas said.

"Diana, you suddenly care about who he chooses because Grandfather promised that you'll marry Bas and you've realised you won't." Lyn said and Diana turned to her with a glare.
