Chapter 160- Their Dad and Mom.

Kathryn's POV.

The journey back to the castle was really fun, I laughed till we reached the children's House at first, Matteo kept making jokes and Daniel and Daniella were really fun too, I couldn't even help it, I kept laughing when Bas parked the car near the description sign the children gave.

"If you are fairies," Bas turned to Daniel and Daniella, "then why can't you fly home?" Bas asked and Daniel frowned.

"Well, mother said they are dangerous things here, so we shouldn't fly, so we won't be captured." Daniel replied and I nodded, they were really dangerous things going on, but it left me wondering why they were in the Arena in the first place, it surprised me.

"Why were you both in the arena earlier?" I ask them, I was genuinely curious, I wanted to know how they got there, or who would send their kids there, if it was out of curiosity or something.

"We were taken in a bus with other kids, we were playing outside and we felt our nose being suffocated and we found ourselves in a bus, then we found ourselves in the arena." Daniella replied with teary eyes.

Daniel reached out to her, cleaning her eyes immediately, "it's okay, don't cry, if I know how to comute to our house, I would've taken us out of there, and the guard kept refusing us, we couldn't leave." Daniel said and we all nodded.

I wondered who would walk around picking kids and dumping them in dangerous places.

"I'm glad I found you guys." I said and they stared at me, I'm still shaken about that place as an adult, so I wonder how it must feel for you kids." I said and they smiled.

"I'm happy you found us." Daniel said and blushes and Matteo whistled making everyone laugh.

"We've been here for ten minutes and no one has opened the door." Bas said eyeing the gate at the entrance, I stared at the gate and removed my eyes facing the kids.

"You said your parents would be home right?" I ask and they nodded.

"So why aren't they there yet?" I ask again.

"I don't know, they should be there, let me go press the latch." Daniel said and Matteo jumped out carrying him down.

He ran to the entrance staring at the gate for five minutes, he kept looking ahead.

"Why is he looking ahead?" I turn to Daniella.

"We have a recognition camera, that can open the gate." Daniella said.

"So you were both playing outside?" I asked and she nodded.

Daniel hit the latch and waited, but the gate wasn't open, Bas went down and squatted close to Daniel, he whispered something and Daniel nodded and hit the latch again.

"What's wrong?" Lyn asked staring at the gate.

"I don't know, it's supposed to open, I don't think there's anyone at home." Daniella said sadly and I sighed.

I wondered where their parents went to, Bas came back with Daniel who came inside the car and sat down with a frown.

"Are there home?" Daniella asked with so much hope in her voice it broke me.

"No, no one is there." Daniel replied.

"Well, I'll be damned." Matteo said and leaned back on his seat.

"Let's just wait, we have to drop them off safel." I said.

"If they are dropped here, whoever drugged them out of here, can do it again, they are not safe, and they are not even taught how to defend their selves." I added.

"Let's just wait for them." Bas muttured and we all nodded.

The waiting felt like hours and hours but it was just past 30 minutes since we waited.

I heard footsteps, I think we all did, we turned immediately, I sighted a man and a woman that looked like I knew them, I realized Daniel took after his mom and Daniella took after her dad, they looked like their parents, Daniel and Daniella stepped down and I went with them.

Their parents paused when they saw them and ran to them, hugging them and taking them from my hands, I stood there watching the exchange, I wasn't a parent yet, but I was sure I would feel this empty if something like this happened to someone I knew, I almost joined them in the heartwarming tears they shared, but I didn't, I just smiled at them.

The woman stood up facing me, making Daniel and Daniella stand behind her, I knew she was being protective, that's why I didn't say anything, I offered a smile and she didn't return it, I wasn't surprised, I wasn't even shaken, I understood how she felt that way.

"What are you doing with my kids?" She asked immediately and Daniel frowned.

"She isn't doing anything wrong." Daniella said quickly.

"I said you shouldn't follow strangers, and you let them pick you and we've been looking for you for a long time." The woman said angrily.

I felt Bas walk up and stand close to me, I'm sure he could hear her, her voice was pretty loud.

"We didn't follow anyone anywhere." Daniella said.

"Please don't walk around taking people's children." The woman said to me and I could hear Bas growl, he was upset with the way I was treated by her, I held his hands slowly and shook my head, he sighed waiting.

"They didn't take us, they…." Daniel said but was cut off by his mom.

"Just keep it shut." The woman said to Daniel who was now glaring at her.

"Mom, if you would let me explain and stop accusing her without hearing me out first, then maybe you'll get to know what happened." Daniel said and the woman gasped.

"What did you say?" The woman said to Daniel, I felt the man walk up closer, he held her hands and shook his head.

"You should be thanking them, for bringing us back here safely." Daniel said and the woman scoffed, I sighed, this was going to he harder than I thought.

"Brought you back safely, didn't you leave with them, " she said and rolled her eyes, " "they took you both from here, and they brainwashed you both making you think they saved you." The woman added.

She now annoyed me to the highest, before I could say something I felt Bas walk closer to her, "see, we came to drop them because your kids told us where to find your house and you weren't home, so we've been waiting here for about half an hour, now you're both back, we understand how upset you mayb be,  we know we can now leave,it wasn't our fault to begin with." Bas said quickly taking my hands with his.

"This is what I've been trying to tell her, but she isn't allowing me." Daniel muttured.

"We were taken by those men you told us the day Mrs Scarlet came, we found ourselves in a bus and in an arena, this pretty lady found us there and stayed with us, they offered to take us home and we came home without seeing anyone." Daniel said and I saw realization enter their mom's eyes and whatever anger I felt towards her for talking to me that way disappeared, I now understood that she was just being a mother, that's why she did that, she was being protective in her own way.

"I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry." Daniel and Daniella's mom and dad said at once.

"I'm sorry for what ever she said." The dad said once more and I shook my head.

"Nah, it's okay, I think I understand." I replied and she looked down.

"I'm so sorry," the mom said again, "please let me get something for you to eat." She added and I shook my head.

"I'm sorry but that can't happen, I would love to do that, but we were much yunno, " I adjusted making her see Dylan, Matteo and Lyn waving from the car,and she waved to them, "I just wanted to make sure they reached home and their parents got to see them, and that had happened, so we'll leave." I replied and they nodded.

"Thanks a lot again, we'll like to send something still." The mom and dad said in unison.

"It's okay, you don't have to stress yourself okay." I replied quickly.

"But please train your children from small to learn how to defend their selves, even the smallest." Bas said and they nodded.

"Bye dearies." I said to them and they waved.

"I'll miss you Lady Kathryn." Daniel said and I smiled.

"I'll miss you too dear.", I said with a smile and I joined Bas who went inside the car immediately.

"That was something." I muttured immediately I sat down.

"We really did a tour today." Matteo said and we all laughed.

"We can continue next time." Lyn said and I nodded.

"Yeah, I second that, I want to rest, it was such a day today, but it's now complicated, it's okay now." I said.

"I just want to rest." I added with a sigh, leaning my head on the chair.
