In a world made up of four divided races, there is one girl who has the resolve to unite the four of them. But will she succeed with threats hanging from the corner or will she prevail in her quest? This is NOT a romance novel
Sleep-filled eyes fluttered open due to a disturbance in their sleep. The fair skinned female with bright orange hair and yellow eyes rose her head up as she could see a faint golden light coming from somewhere in her room.
She tried to wipe the sleep off her eyes and did so with her hands but then something shocked her, the light was emanating from her hands.
"Ah.." She wanted to scream out loud but she used her other hand which wasn't glowing.
But soon after, it started to glow as well.
"Okay, this is freaky." She thought as she looked at her hands from her fingers to the back of her palm.
"It's kinda cool once you get used to it." She said to herself.
But then, another unexpected thing as a white pulse of energy was expelled from her hands, pushing her back a bit and making a noice as loud as someone using sticks to hit a drum but sounded like fairy dust.
"Are you alright, my precious sun?" A manly voice said from the other side of the door that led to her room.
Soon after, two figures came in. Her mother and father and both their eyes were blessed with a strange and glorious phenomenon.
There were balls of light floating in the room in different locations, at the top of the ceiling, by the door and one was floating in Arina's hand.
"Mom, Dad. What's happening?" She asked them.
In her world, On Earth, there were four species or divisions of the beings that lived on it. The Humans were the first to exist and used to be the only Race. The Humans had no form of magic, power or special abilities but created technology with the application of science. They had all types of hair colors which included black, brown, red, orange, green, blue, purple and the rest. They made up 69% of the population.
"Humans aren't capable of doing this. Am I not human like you guys?" Arina asked her parents, splitting ehr attention between facing them and the floating ball of light in her hand.
Her parents were just heart struck as if a big secret they had been keeping just got revealed and if there was one thing Arina hated the most, It was secrets.
Secondly, there were the Casters. They along with the two other Races had appeared around the same time, a few hundred years ago. These people had special abilities such as the ability to create things such as objects, living things or elements which were limited to the Casting trait they were assigned with which could be something like Fire or Water. They also had a special piece of jewellery called Charms which appeared in different forms and helped in the use of their magic and was necessary for all of them. They were all like humans until they're Casting ability would appear, most especially at the age of 15. They had all colors of hair.
The third race was known as the Seraphs. They had similiar qualities with the Casters. They had the ability to manifest objects and elements and they weren't mostly limited to one kind. But they used Spell Magic which was done with the help of wands. At a particular Stage, they would gain small wings which would grow from their backs.
They also used Charms and required it just as much as the Casters did.
"You're a Caster, sweetie." Her mother replied to her, looking like she was holding in tears. But it was hard to know if they were tears of sadness, guilt or joy. Her Husband held her shoulders to indirectly support.
"But how?" Arina asked and the ball of light in her hand released another pulse of magic and it shook the room.
Their relationship was quite funny, Casters and Seraphs usually disliked each other greatly, at least most of the population for an unknown reason but it could be because of the rivalry instilled in them after birth. The two races also looked down on the Humans as weaker than them due to their lack of power or special abilities and the Humans tried to stand up by themselves and prove themselves by creating advanced technology far superior than anything most Casters and Seraphs could ever hope to make.
But not so long ago, the three banded together to battle with the fourth and last race, the Demons.
The Demons were comparable to the Humans like the other races with the exception of a thin tail appearing from their posterior at a particular stage. They were known to have mostly black or a darker shade of hair than the other Races. They were more known for their hand to hand combat and physical growth which was the best among the Four Races.
The Demons were a violent race capable of multiple powers such as Conjuration, Transformation and even Mind Control. They considered themselves stronger than all the others especially due to the fact that they didn't require the use of any special jewels. A superior race whose wish was to rule over all the others, that was their sense of reasoning for a while until they decided to act by declaring a war against all other races.
But the other three Races, the Casters, Seraphs and Humans managed to stop them and banished them to a realm known as the Underworld where they could do no more harm after five years of constant suffering and fear produced from their actions. The Underworld was a small pocket dimension which was still on Earth but seperate from it.
Like everything though, the seal was not permanent and required as much powerful magic as possible to keep the seal from breaking. The way to do this was to move up the stages of power for each race except for the Humans.
There were 12 known stages in total with the higher the stage, the stronger the person. This made the Casters and Seraphs to employ the use of institutions to teach their kind, in order for them to get stronger and carry on the legacy in hopes to be known as the strongest race of them all. And also to keep the Seal from breaking.
They were known as the Academies and they were at least three in each nation. The banishing of the Demons also caused some implications. For every major battlefield that the great war took place, they would be a distortion where one could make a portal to free some Demons.
"We adopted you." The last words her father no.. adoptive father had said left her in a state of shock.
She imagined him saying it three times over, in slow motion.
"I'm a Caster? I'm a Caster? I'm... a Caster."
She had no idea the adventures, both thrilling and shocking that would await.
