Sarah POV
Looking at Rose exchanging a vow with the same man she has been waiting for all her life, proves to me that some people love stories that s are tougher than others. I can't imagine myself waiting for the same man for decades and I respect her for waiting for him today they are exchanging vows to start the journey of forever. The wedding went smoothly I was the chief bridesmaid and Ella served as the other bridesmaid, Rose doesn't have many friends in her life apart from the people she met while working, she doesn't communicate much with other people that is why we are the only one here with her. At the reception, I noticed the heavy security around the place and the same thing with the church, I don't think either Steve or Anna will be stupid enough to attack with this kind of security.
This security reminds me of what our wedding will be like if we decide to host a big wedding, but am more comfortable with the simple wedding knowing the danger lurking around, there is no need to slack. At first, George's mother was against the simple wedding cause she want to celebrate the wedding of her only child in a grand style but after explaining but not telling her the details why we decide to have a simple wedding she approved it. As for my mother, she is down for anything so long they are wedding.
After the toast from George which was very funny, I started looking around the hall to locate my mother to ensure that she is comfortable, I know this is not her kind of gathering and I know that she will be finding it difficult to adjust in. I saw her standing in a corner with a bottle of champagne in her hand, she looked so lost. I stood up from my seat and walked toward her, to know what is going on and if she is in anywhere uncomfortable with the place, I won't mind taking her home. When I approached her and inquired about what got her in such a foul mood. The answer I got from her was not what I was hoping for, instead, she told me what I suppose to be good news but my mother don't look one bit happy.
I can already guess why she is like that, which always makes me wonder if my mother can't understand that Jerry is not anything like my father. Yes, Jerry was never a good father or a good husband from the beginning but he never beat his wife or his daughter rather the only thing he is doing bad is that he is not giving them enough attention. I tried to make my mother understand that Jerry is not my father, but I remember that we are at a wedding and such discussion should be done at home. I left my mother there and approached Jerry and informed him to take my mother home cause I don't think that she will like to stay there for the next ten minutes. Jerry discharged the man he was talking to immediately and headed to where my mother is standing. That's what am talking about, he cares about her and that is enough for me.
