Chapter Ten

Julie's POV

After I left Mr Harrison's room in a flash, I headed straight to his parlor to continue working. I was able to schedule some appointments ,made few overviews of  the documents and work on a couple of documents. I was summarizing them up when I heard a knock on the door.

"Coming",I said as I stood up from the couch heading towards the door to the entrance. I opened to reveal Ann. I wasn't surprised to find her in here though since I figured her having a thing with Mr Harrison.

"Hi Ann",I said happily allowing her to enter.

"Hi",she responded with a look of  displeasure on her face as she eyes me up and down then brushed pass me about to head towards Mr Harrison's room upstairs.

"Uh Ann, Mr Harrison's still sleeping,he's not too well today",I said stopping her midway but she ignored my comment and proceeded to walk further to Mr Harrison's room.

"Mr Harrison's still sleeping",I said again but she was gone paying deaf ears.

I sighed unhappily and confused as to why Ann was giving me a cold shoulder this morning. I sat back down on the couch about to continue where I finished of work when I heard footsteps approaching me at the parlor.

"Julie?",I head Ann call me from behind where I was seated.

"Yes?",I said standing on my feet to face her. Ann was in a  white plain T-shirt and a very short jeans shorts which had me wondering if this was the kind of clothes she puts on whenever she hangs around Mr Harrison's home.

"I'd to tell you something",she said still with a look of displeasure plastered on her face.

"Ok".

"Look Julie, I appreciate all your efforts while I was starting out with Harrison but now, I want you to understand that I'm now his girlfriend and you shouldn't get to decide how or when I see my boyfriend!",she said

"No, that's not what I'm trying to do and I'm sorry if you felt that way",I told her vividly. I had no intentions of doing that and I had to let her know.

"Better. Now, do you know why Harrison prefers a knock on his door every morning?. Do you know?",she asked.

"No I don't".

"Very well. "You don't because you are not close to him. "He hardly sleeps at night or rather he takes his time to speak to Damian. Damian? . "Damian's his ex-girlfriend's  eleven year old son. Look, Harrison's a very dedicated person but he doesn't want that boy to luck guidance even though he and his mother are no longer together and because I'm causing his heart to race, he prefers a knock on his door and a voice most importantly he doesn't want to start his day late",she said.

"Why are you telling me all this?",I asked her confused.

"Yes, just to let you know that after all these that I have mentioned,it doesn't stop me from walking into his room whenever or however I want to. Please don't do what you do, it's stupid. "Don't ever tell me he's sleeping. "Let me go and find out for myself!",she yelled irritatedly and there was silence, with all her words sinking in my brain.

Then she moved a step closer to me.

"I'm I making sense?. "Do you understand what I'm saying?!",she asked scrutinizing her at me.

"Yes absolutely",I said swallowing hard with her words still hitting me hard. I was left devastated.

"Good", she said without any word ,eyed me up and down and left to Mr Harrison's room again.

I was stuck in my position for sometime reminiscing about what I just heard from Ann. Annoyed at myself and disturbed. I felt like someone had poured a bucket of iced water on me .

The next morning in his car..... Oxford street

We were on our way to his office.  Ann's behavior yesterday left me sulking and I still can get her words out of my head.

It hurts so much after Ann behavior on me this morning.

I felt someone's gaze on me but I was too lost in my thoughts to pay attention,just focus put the window since I was seated beside him at the backseat on his car and his driver at the front.

"Is everything ok?",I heard a deep voice say thinking that voice came from afar .

"Julie",I jumped out of my skin upon hearing my boss's voice calling out my name.

"Huh, uh well I mean..sir is everything ok with you?",I asked  not tell you making eye contact with him of which I had no idea why I couldn't look at him in the eye at the moment.

"Are you asking Julie". I'll redirect the question back to you then?". "Is anything the matter?",he said still having his gaze on me.

"N-no sir",I said and there was silence. I still couldn't get the fact that Ann had to say hurtful words like that to me yesterday. I went home worried and thinking. I didn't understand why she thought that way. What did she think of me? From the look on her face,it was like I was a disgust.

"There you go again". "Something's not right with you",Mr Harrison said pulling me out of my trance.

"I'm fine boss",I said quickly.

"Ok..if you say so", he said like he couldn't believe me.

Then a call came through from him. He laughs checking his caller ID then answers.

"My man!". You know right?". "If I'm in a relationship,I'm there. "That's what you keep telling me I know...",I heard him speak over the phone while I sat there glooming and checking on my watch wanting the day to end quickly so I can get home to catch some air .

"Oh you think I'm like you?"." I'm on my way to the office. No one's keeping me at home",I heard Mr Harrison say again continuing his conversation over the phone until the line went dead.

"That was Persus, he's still at home",he says laughing but because I was lost in my own thoughts, I wasn't giving him the attention.

I felt him sense it too .
