Power from beyond the stars
Cael couldn't let it. But the strength of the Starspawn… Would Cael's own power be enough?
He looked around. Below, the flames of the Starspawn's magic spread wider and wider, catching the decorative plants that grew on the streets. Some of the guards put them out with ice magic, but most were too busy nursing their wounds.
An entire regimen was devastated just like that—but not all of them. More brave souls rose to fight, and more mages arrived from the other ends of the city.
"We won't let you, monster!" an unknown noble shouted, charging into the fray on a pegasus. He shot a volley of crystal spears at the Starspawn.
"Yes!" Cael joined the sentiment. "Rise, mages of the Bear Kingdom, to protect our city and our king!"
More shouts echoed from the surroundings. More and more people peeked out of the bastions of their homes to meet the common threat.
