Oddball within Oddballs

The ball goes up the steps, fighting against the gravity pulling it down.

Defying physics, the little ball continues to break the laws of the world.

Not even its master could accomplish what the unassuming ball could.

It's a truly incredible sight for all.

The crowd of other balls stepping down, this ball steps up.

They all stared at him as the distance between them heightens.

Those who fell faster down the steps lost sight of the little oddball.

One step at a time, the raggedy ball reaches up till the heavens.

Angelic balls used to look down on every oddball in the land, laughing at their inferiority of starting their journeys from the bottom of the steps.

Eventually reaching the bottom of the steps and falling into the pit of death, the inevitable end for every insignificant oddball.

Angelic balls were given the opportunity to start their descent from the heavens.

Yet, none of them wielded the power to defy the rules of the land.

The oddball feels as if the angelic balls knows something the regular descendants don't.

After all, they had made a personal contact with God.

He feels as if there is much more meaning to the descent that he was forced to do.

The only one who could answer his questions are at the peak.

The angelic balls rolling down at this point were astounded by the ball's skill.

Skill that could only be wielded by the gods.

The ball eventually makes it up to the peak, meeting the god of all oddballs.

The lack of more steps beyond, the little ball stops his climb and stares at God.

God stares back with an astonished expression.

Only he could have the power to climb up the steps of the land, how could a mere oddball attain the same ability as him?

"You've finally made it."

His gaze softened, as if he had been waiting for the little oddball's arrival.

God can't take his eyes off the oddball.

"Why did you decide you climb up?"

The oddball smirks with his non-existent face.

He answers, "..."

God, who bestowed upon the world the five commandments which every single ball had to live by.

[Commandment 1 - Worship God] Kneel down and pray upon God

[Commandment 2 - Praise God] Bestow down upon the most beautiful of words

[Commandment 3 - Do not speak] Silence of the mouth

[Commandment 4 - Prove your faith] Follow Commandment 5

[Commandment 5 - Descend] Fall

Within the commandments, nothing said that you could climb up.

Yet, every single oddball followed through with their descent to death as they feared climbing would be seen as an act of rebellion.

Every single oddball had their fate written and waved in front of their faces and still did nothing about it.

As he was fell down the steps, the little oddball questioned the purpose of his descent.

Why are we forced to fall down to our deaths?

Why doesn't God do anything to cover up the pit of death?

Does he want us to fall down there?

He revised the 5 commandments, and realized the loophole that was hidden.

Thus, he started his climb.

God was now within his reach, he could finally ask the burning questions ingrained in his mind that initiated his climb to the peak.

Heaven surrounded the two balls.

Though he had never broken any rules, it was impossible for him to reply back to the God without doing so.

"I wanted to ask you a few questions."

God smiled.

"Ask me, you deserve your answers after coming all the way up here."

He asks the first question, "Who are you?"

The smile widened, excited to answer.

"I'm..."

After a ruthless questioning, the little ball feels as if he had been enlightened.

He had garnered the knowledge of the universe.

With this newfound information, the ball spent the rest of his days falling back down.

"I'll reach the pit before anyone else, thank you God."
