Chapter 3: A Moonlit Dilemma

Niha's POV

The message from Kabir flashed on my phone, pulling me away from my notes. "Meet me at Café Serendipity at 5 pm. Important."

I frowned, wondering what had caused such urgency. Kabir was a busy man, the owner of a renowned publication house, and usually, our meetings were scheduled well in advance.

Nevertheless, I agreed to satisfy him, curious about what had him so worked up.

The day, which had started with my journal entry about family and friends, had taken an unexpected turn. Now, as I pushed open the door of Café Serendipity, the familiar scent of freshly brewed coffee and the soft jazz music in the background greeted me.

I barely noticed the man walking in just as I was entering. Our collision was a soft one, no harm done, but my heart skipped a beat. I looked up into the eyes of a stranger, a handsome one at that. His eyes, a deep shade of brown, held a certain mystery, and for a brief moment, time seemed to stand still. It was as if the universe had conspired for our paths to cross.

"I'm so sorry," I murmured, my cheeks turning a shade of pink.

He offered a charming smile, his voice a rich timbre. "No harm done. A minor collision in the grand scheme of things."

I nodded, a bit flustered, and moved past him to find a vacant table. I couldn't shake the strange feeling in my heart, as though this chance encounter held some significance.

Kabir was already waiting, his face lit up when he saw me. He was dressed in his signature attire, a tailored suit that made him look every bit the successful publisher he was.

"Niha, you won't believe the news I have for you," he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

I settled into my chair, eager to hear what had him in such high spirits. "What's going on, Kabir?"

He leaned in, his voice hushed. "Niha, I've been following your work as 'Aria' for a while now. You have a gift for storytelling, a unique voice that's been missing in the literary world. And I have an offer for you."

I felt my heart quicken. An offer? I had never expected this. "What kind of offer, Kabir?"

Chapter 4: The Stranger and The Offer

The message from Kabir flashed on my phone, pulling me away from my notes. "Meet me at Café Serendipity at 5 pm. Important."

I frowned, wondering what had prompted such urgency. Kabir was a busy man, the owner of a renowned publication house, and usually, our meetings were scheduled well in advance. Nevertheless, I agreed to meet him, curious about what had him so worked up.

I felt my heart quicken. An offer? I had never expected this. "What kind of offer, Kabir?"

He smiled, placing a folder on the table and sliding it towards me. "A book deal, Niha. A chance to publish your work under your real name. I've read your latest manuscript, and I believe it's a masterpiece. This could be your breakthrough, the recognition you deserve."

I opened the folder, my eyes scanning the details of the offer. It was indeed a dream come true. But as I looked at the contract, doubt gnawed at the edges of my excitement. What would this mean for my studies, and for my family's expectations?

Kabir noticed my hesitation. "I know it's a big decision, Niha. But remember, opportunities like this don't come often. You have the talent, and I'm here to support you every step of the way."

Kabir leaned back, his expression serious yet encouraging. "Niha, we believe in your talent. We're offering you a flexible timeline to work on the book, and we'll provide you with an editor to guide you through the process. This could be the opportunity of a lifetime."

My mind raced with possibilities. A book deal was a dream come true, but the weight of the decision pressed upon me. It would be a significant commitment, one that could potentially change the course of my life.

As I left the café, I felt a whirlwind of emotions. The encounter with the handsome stranger lingered in my thoughts, but so did the offer Kabir had presented. I needed time to think and to weigh the pros and cons.

That night, I stood on my balcony, gazing up at the moon. Its serene glow bathed me in its light, and I couldn't help but speak to it as if it held the answers to my uncertain future.

"What is written in my destiny?" I whispered to the moon as if it were a silent confidante. "Should I accept this offer and chase my dreams, or should I tread the path I've always known?"

The moon offered no reply, its silvery presence a comforting yet enigmatic companion in my moment of contemplation.

But as I turned to go back inside, a soft rustle in the bushes below caught my attention. Someone was there, lurking in the shadows, watching me. A chill ran down my spine, and I couldn't help but wonder if this was a mere coincidence or the beginning of something far more complex.
