Befolx shook his head.
"That was one… vicious spell," he said as he turned his eyes away from the sight of the slaughter and toward Leo's face instead. And as he did, he revealed the sparks dancing around the long slits he had for irises, a sure-fire hint for the rare race he came from of actively using mana-sight.
"You were in such a hurry for me to act, so why are you stalling now?" Leo asked, squinting his eyes a bit in a bid to express his displeasure not only with his voice but also his expression.
"Does it really matter now?" Befolx asked before rolling his eyes and… waving his hand a bit, as if he was trying to swat an annoying fly.
