Born Queen

Meanwhile at the Li Mansion...

Ivan had cooked breakfast, he waited for his sister to come down but she showed no signs of coming, so he decided to go to her room.

He was now in front of her room. 'Is she still mad at me?' he thought before he summoned the courage to knock on her door but there was no response, he tried a few more times but there still wasn't any sign of her opening the door.

"Xiao Lan?" he called out, after which he reached out for the doorknob, but before the tip of his fingers could touch the door, it flung open.

His mouth was left hanging when he scanned her beautiful slender but curvy body.

She was dressed in a peach-colored blazer and trousers that enhanced her curves, her sleeveless top that was inside her blazer revealed her cleavages, she had a small white purse hanging on one of her arms, and her other hand was filled up with important files and documents as she struggled to tie her hair in a bun before she spoke up.

"Really?! You're just going to stand there and watch me?" she asked frustrated which made him instantly wake up from his trance.

"Beautiful," he said shortly and her expression changed to a confused one. "Uhm... I mean sure I'll help you," he said, she handed the files in her hand over to him but he didn't take them.

She sighed and shook her head slightly, she knew just how much how brother loved her hair. He loved to fiddle and play with it, even going as far as styling it and it came out perfectly well. She had to admit that he was very good at it, even way better than her.

They looked intensely at each other's green eyes, but no one was willing to give up. Ivy stretched out her hand full of files in hopes that he'll take it this time but he didn't.

She let out a deep sigh and turned around letting him do what he knows best.

He professionally tied her voluminous, thick lengthy-long hair into a cute bun with no effort at all as if he was playing with a feather in less than ten seconds. He let a few strands fall gracefully on her beautiful face and a huge grin was plastered on his face full of pride.

She walked along the hallway and turned to the side to look at the gold-framed mirror hanging majestically on the wall.

This brother of hers never ceased a moment to surprise her with his skills, be it cooking, hair, or anything else. He always came up with new things she never knew about. Well, what do you expect from a creative man, who is a real estate manager and an architect?

She looked nothing less than an ethereal creature. She slowly ran her hands around her hair admiring herself.

He came forward to approach her and leaned in to meet her height, gently placing his hands on her shoulders with her eyes still glued to the mirror.

"Breathtaking," he simply whispered into her ears, craning his neck to rest his chin on her shoulder with his eyes also on the mirror.

"Thank you," she said in a soft voice and Ivan was shocked for a minute. When did this sister of his become courteous? he blinked. Isn't she supposed to be... cocky, narcissistic, and proud right now? Who is this woman? she's definitely not my sister. Different thoughts went through his mind.

Ivy was still busy admiring her hair as if it was some type of masterpiece before he called her out of her trance.

"You should get going, you're getting late for work."

She turned around and smiled before she spoke.

"Brother, I'm a queen, a goddess. Are any of these people ever late, do they even care whether they're late or not. I'm a born queen, I always knew from the start, besides a queen is never late, it's the people that decide to come early," she said twirling her finger around a strand of her hair.

Ivan was stunned at her remark and at the same time expected that from her.

'I thought this lady hates people that are late and punishes them but anyways that's my sister, the sister I know,' he said inwardly rolling his eyes.

She went downstairs leaving him to reason what she had just said.

He regained himself after a while and walked passed the hallway to the grand stairs, and rushed downstairs but it still looked elegant.

When he came downstairs, he was greeted with the sight of his sister eating the pancakes he had made earlier without a care in the world.

Her back was now facing him, he approached her and decided to speak, but before he could do that she spoke as if she already knew he was there.

"I want you to drop me off, brother," she said going through her phone with a fork in her other hand.

"Why?" he asked simply coming forward, he was now standing beside her with his arms folded.

"Cause I said so."

He shook his head before he finally spoke. "You can drive, if you're that lazy, ask your driver, that's why he's hired," he plainly said workout any emotion. "Besides, look at me, do I look fit for going out?"

Ivy turned to her side and scanned her brother from his disheveled hair from sleep that still look sexy, to his fitted white shirt, which accentuated his perfectly toned, muscular chest and torso, down to his baggy grey pants to his footwear

"So?"

"I'm not prepared," he smacked his head frustratedly as if he was explaining something easy to a child that didn't look like she was understanding anything.

"You do know that even if you're dressed in rags, all the girls will drool over you or even hover around you like a fly on a corpse. So nice excuse, but I'm getting late," she said putting a large piece of pancake in her mouth, standing up before heading for the door.

'Didn't this girl just say that she's a queen and they never get late so...' Ivan thought confused. She didn't even want to think further on it or he might just get a migraine, he just shook his head and went after her after grabbing his keys.
