**Kian's POV:**
I was waiting with Owen and Emma for Athena to arrive. She was playing with Sylph and Rudeus. It has been a few months since that incident.
During this time, I always accompanied her whenever she played with them, but today I had to leave a bit earlier to make sure she wouldn't find out about anything. It would be awful to spoil the surprise since we can only do this every five years.
Then, I heard footsteps approaching the door, and soon after, Athena innocently opened the door, unaware of anything.
"Mom, Dad, brother, I'm home," she said loudly as she opened the door.
"Surprise!" we shouted loudly at that moment.
"Thank you." She paused for a second, processing everything, and ran towards us for a family hug.
After spending some time having a family moment, I clapped my hands, and everyone looked in my direction.
"It's time for presents," I said with a smile in her direction. Judging by her anticipatory expression, I think she was expecting this too.
My mother then left to fetch the present. She soon arrived with a box in her hands, which she placed on the table.
"You can open it, dear," Emma said encouragingly.
"It's beautiful," Athena exclaimed upon opening the box and seeing a beautiful purple dress with many detailed stitches.
It was indeed beautiful since I helped my mother get it when she had the idea of giving a dress as a present. I'm glad she liked it.
After my mother, it was Owen's turn. He had a much smaller, well-crafted wooden box. It seems he put a lot of effort into it.
Athena then carefully placed her new dress back in the box and opened Owen's present. Inside, she found a beautifully crafted silver bracelet with precious stones. Wow, I knew my father was good at making tools, but I never knew he was also a good jeweler. Maybe he should invest more in this.
"Dad, it's amazing. Did you make this for me?" she asked expectantly.
"Yes, dear, it just took me a little while," he replied, averting his eyes at the last phrase. He certainly didn't take just a little while. I think I learned how to lie so badly from him. I used to be an excellent liar; I hope I don't make that obvious expression when I lie.
"Wow, can you put it on me, Daddy?" Athena asked after smiling even more happily, knowing that Owen made this present by hand.
It seems that if I hadn't cheated with magic for my present, his would have won first place for today's favorite presents. Too bad I'm here, I thought, smiling as I took two books I had hidden under the table, placing them on the table with a thud from their weight.
"So, it looks like it's my turn. Here is my present, a magic grimoire, as I said you could learn magic when you turned five." I said confidently about my present, sure she would like it. This was one of my five biggest projects, along with the star pendant she wears. Speaking of which, that metal I found so many years ago was really good material. Even after so many improvements over the years, it still held up.
"But brother Kian, there are two books on the table," Athena asked with a confused expression. Of course, she would be since I made twin grimoires. I wouldn't let go of my childhood dream of having a magic book in hand.
"That's because they are twin grimoires, one for you and one for me, so we match, and you can also talk to me wherever you are in the Kingdom of Asura." I said to her, and after picking up the magic pen that comes with the Red Grimoire, I wrote the word "hi" on it, causing the other Blue Grimoire to glow slightly in response. When she opened the Grimoire on the first page, it said "hi."
"See? Now you can talk to your brother whenever you want," I said while watching her start to turn the pages, seeing them blank.
"But brother, there's no magic written here," she said sadly, not finding anything.
"Here, let me show you how it works." I said and quickly took the magic pen from the Blue Grimoire.
"Which magic do you want to learn first?" I asked her after pausing.
"Hm... I think the one that makes it snow," Athena replied after placing a hand on her chin, striking a deep thinking pose.
Then, writing in the Grimoire "tell me about ice magic," the pages filled with words about how to use ice magic, its history, its enchantments, and even the greatest ice mages ever recorded, at least as far as the database goes.
I think it's enough for Athena for now, but I'll need to negotiate access to some of the big libraries, either through the front door or the back.
She then closed the book after taking a look at the things now written in it.
"Thank you, brother, I loved your present. Now I can brag to Rudeus and Sylph about my book that has any magic I want to know," she said and jumped on me, hugging me tightly.
Well, I wouldn't say it has any magic she wants to know, at least not yet. It only has some Saint rank spells at most. I still haven't found any King rank spells to add, but I did add my originals that I copied, like the [Rasenshuriken] and the [Chidori] along with their variations. They are now both King rank spells of the wind and water elements, respectively, which in this case would be lightning.
Besides that, I put all my theory on the uses and manipulation of mana along with my knowledge of training and the human body.
I may not have put any ready-made Fuinjutsu Seal knowledge inside for her to learn yet, but I did put the simplified theory there to see if she would be interested and try to create some original.
While thinking about all this, I put Athena on the ground after the hug.
"I'm glad you liked it," I said with a smile on my face, lightly touching her forehead with my index and middle fingers together.
While we were eating and having fun, it finally came time to go to bed.
After taking Athena to bed, I went to my room, and after closing the door, I entered the basement through the hidden door. Inside, I saw the familiar shelves and the table I use to make my items. In the corner of the table was a giant scroll. Getting closer, I picked it up and tied it to my waist, grabbing a black cloak with a white and red fan on the back. I put the cloak over me and took the Tanto and the black pouch on the table, which were side by side. I placed the Tanto on my back under the cloak, and the black pouch I tied to my right leg.
Checking if nothing was missing, I finally went to the middle of the room and concentrated. I had to avoid fainting from mana exhaustion.
[Shadow Clone]
Saying the incantation and using exactly 99% of all my mana, a clone appeared in front of me. Now with everything ready, I went up to the room with the clone and stopped for a moment in front of the window.
"I don't even need to say what your priorities are if any unforeseen events happen since you are me." I said, turning to the clone that would stay in my place while I headed towards my next objective of becoming an adventurer.
"Of course not. Our priorities have always been clear." He replied right after.
Then, jumping out the window of my room, I started running under the cloak of darkness towards the City of Roa, where I would register as an Adventurer.
