Kidnap

It took him approximately 25 minutes to make Lin Xiaohong reveal the whereabouts of her and Xiao Meiying's residence. He figured it would be tough to make her talk, but it turned out quite easy, he just had to break some fingers, and she started talking, forgetting every voe she made to Xiao Meiying the day before.

Lin Xiaohong lay on the ground, blood on her face, her fingers and one arm broken. She gritted her teeth and weakly said, "You were so kind yesterday. What changed?"

"Nothing's different. I was like this yesterday too; you just didn't notice. I'm just revealing more of my real self now," Feng Lou said, with deathly qi still swirling in the depths of his eyes like a vortex.

"You bastard! Miss trusted you," Lin Xiaohong said angrily.

"Of course, she should trust me. I only want to protect her," Feng Lou replied.

Right after saying that, Feng Lou knocked Lin Xiaohong out, hoisted her onto his shoulder, and vanished from the school's roof.

.....

Xiao Meiying sat in class, repeatedly glancing towards the door as if expecting someone. People kept entering, but her disappointment grew each time. Eventually, the teacher arrived, and the class began.

Thirty minutes passed, and Xiao Meiying remained agitated, a mix of anger and worry swirling inside her. She couldn't focus properly on the lesson the teacher was delivering. Suddenly, a guy entered the class—it was Feng Lou.

The teacher and the class turned their attention to him. Feng Lou swiftly explained, "Sorry, there was an accident on the road, and my bus got delayed." The teacher promptly instructed him to take his seat, and Feng Lou hurriedly made his way to his desk and sat down.

Xiao Meiying looked at him and quietly whispered, "Where were you, I was waiting for you,"

"Oh, were you waiting for me? How cute," Feng Lou remarked. "I had something to take care of. Don't worry, I won't be late again."

Upon hearing Feng Lou's first sentence, Xiao Meiying felt a bit shy, but then she retorted with a huff, "I was just joking. Who would wait for you anyway?"

Feng Lou chuckled and advised her to concentrate on the lesson.

Soon, the classes ended, and the school day came to a close.

Xiao Meiying remarked to Feng Lou, "It was a peaceful day, no attacks or anything stressful. I liked it."

Feng Lou replied with a hint of humor, "Don't say that; you might jinx the day."

Upon hearing Feng Lou's words, Xiao Meiying chuckled and responded, "You would protect me, even if something happened, right?"

"If that's what you want," Feng Lou replied with a smile.

Hearing that, Xiao Meiying's mood lifted slightly, but she retorted, "Hmph, who needs protection? I'll learn some martial arts and protect myself."

"Then I won't protect you, if that's what you want," Feng Lou replied with a sad face.

"No!" Xiao Meiying quickly interjected. "I liked it when you protected me."

Right after she said that, Xiao Meiying realized her words might have been ambiguous. Before Feng Lou could even ask anything, she quickly said, "I'm going home. I have something to do," and then she ran out.

Seeing her rush out, Feng Lou's eyes once again gleamed with death qi. Without anyone noticing, he vanished from the class and reappeared on the school's rooftop.

He waited for a few minutes and saw Xiao Meiying coming out of the school, and got into her car.

Right as the car left, he disappeared from the roof too.

After a while, the car finally stopped at Xiao Meiying's house, which was on the outskirts of the city. Xiao Meiying got out of the car and entered the house.

Xiao Meiying's house, despite her wealth, appeared far from affluent. The exterior showed signs of neglect, with peeling paint and overgrown bushes obscuring the path to the front door.

As she entered, the foyer was dimly lit, casting eerie shadows across the worn-out furniture. The air was thick with a musty smell, indicating something weird had happened inside. This kind of atmosphere was making her nervous, and thinking something bad happened she quickly entered the house without calling the police or someone else for security.

As she entered the hallway she saw bloodstains marred the floor, evidence of recent violence. In one corner, scattered candles illuminated a makeshift altar adorned with occult symbols and relics. Sinister artifacts, like ancient tomes and twisted idols, were clustered around the room.

In the center of the hall stood Feng Lou, His expression was unreadable, but the glint of deathly energy in his eyes betrayed an underlying intensity.

"Feng Lou! What are you doing here, and how did you find my house?" Xiao Meiying asked, her voice tinged with fear. Suddenly, a dreadful possibility struck her, and she exclaimed, "No, was Lin Xiaohong right? Are you part of the MO sect?"

Feng Lou remained silent, his movements deliberate as he advanced toward her. Xiao Meiying began to back away slowly, her heart pounding with fear. She spoke weakly, "What's with all the blood? It's not my housekeeper, is it? Where is Lin Xiaohong?"

Xiao Meiying's mind buzzed with questions and disbelief. Just yesterday, Feng Lou had saved her, yet here he was in her house, seemingly having killed her housekeeper and now threatening her own life. It was a whirlwind of confusion and betrayal, leaving her unable to comprehend anything.

Thinking of the worst possibilities, she rushed towards the exit, but before she could open it to escape, Feng Lou appeared in front of her, blocking her path. His words echoed in the tense air, "I am doing this to save you. Forgive me."

Right as he said those words, he moved to attack Xiao Meiying's neck in an attempt to render her unconscious. However, to her astonishment, as he lunged forward, Xiao Meiying's eyes suddenly glowed red, and she dodged his attack.

Feng Lou launched another attack, this time without Xiao Meiying's eyes glowing, and his strike landed successfully, causing her to faint in his arms. Afterward, he thought to himself, "Interesting! Is that red glow the reason why the way of heaven in this world wants me to protect Xiao Meiying?"

"I should look more into that, but first, I need to become a witch adept as soon as possible," Feng Lou thought to himself. And with that thought, he and Xiao Meiying on his shoulder disappeared from the house with a whoosh.
