Chapter 11: Call in Distress (2)

Liu Yan blocked the woman before she could get closer to Aidan. He did this more for her benefit than for his best friend, knowing that more problems would arise if he hadn't intervened.

Sadly, the woman did not appreciate his effort to save face. She scowled at him and pouted her lips seductively. "Mr. Liu, what are you doing? Isn't that the friend you were waiting for?"

"What's his name?" the woman added, winking at Aidan, who continued to ignore her and stare at Liu Yan.

Feeling the situation turning from bad to worse, Liu Yan stepped away from the woman and gulped. He said, "Miss Anne, please go back to your seat." He turned to the men inside the room and added, "The two of us will head back first."

One man inside the room tried to stop them. "Hey, where are you going? You just got in here!"

However, Liu Yan turned a deaf ear and pulled Aidan, whose expression was darkening, outside of the room.

Once they came out of the club, Liu Yan panted and said, "Don't get angry. Calm down first."

With an almost indifferent tone, Aidan, who had been quiet this whole time, finally spoke up, "I'm not angry."

Not angry? Liu Yan didn't believe him. Aidan's face earlier was too frightening; it was like seeing his grandfather from the military telling him to come to the frontline and face a group of killing machines.

"I'm disappointed." Liu Yan was slightly taken aback when he heard him say this. Aidan continued, "Did you fool around like this while I was away?"

Liu Yan shook his head immediately. "Where could I find the time to do that when I'm busy in the military?"

Because of his family's military background, Liu Yan had to join the army right after graduating from senior high school. Since then, he hadn't been able to have some fun. He couldn't even find a girlfriend because he was always in the company of sweaty men.

Liu Yan scratched his head. "Tch… if it weren't because I was afraid of you, I would have made some action tonight."

Aidan asked, "So you have intentions of fooling around?"

Liu Yan: "..."

He was about to defend himself, but then he saw Aidan look down at his phone.

The next moment, Liu Yan saw Aidan pick up the call, and he heard a nervous voice from the speaker on the phone. But the voice did not speak to Aidan..

Liu Yan and Aidan exchanged a glance.

Stepping forward to get better coverage of the voice, Liu Yan asked, "Who is that? Is that the woman from the hospital?"

Aidan didn't reply, but he nodded his head at him.

Around the same time.

Avery didn't know if Aidan understood why she called him so late in the evening. However, her relief came when he answered her call!

Now, she only needed him to call the police and have them come save her.

Wait!

Did she turn on her GPS? She couldn't remember.

She hadn't even told him where she was and the room number she was in. Would he even be able to inform the police of her exact location?

The uncertainty of her situation made the panic she felt continue to rise. Had she been wrong to contact him rather than her agent, Su Tang?

The man looked Avery up and down. He grumbled: "Sh*t! I was going to be gentle with you, but you just have to be so damn annoying! You even ruined my shoes!"

At first, Avery couldn't figure out what he was talking about. After a moment's pause, she finally understood.

F*ck. Were his shoes even more important now?

"Well, it doesn't matter anymore." Suddenly, the man regained his composure.

He wickedly grinned at her. "I'm sure I'll find a way for you to compensate me for dirtying my shoes."

Avery backed away from him.

'Pak!'

A black shadow flew at her at the speed of light.

Before she could react, a hand struck her, causing her head to collide with the wall.

And the last thing she saw before an abyss of darkness devoured her vision was a pair of Nikko shoes closing in towards her.

Aidan gripped the steering wheel in his hand. The black car he was in was speeding through the middle of the road like a black panther in full pursuit of its target.

Gripping the grab handle, Liu Yan gulped nervously. He didn't know how many years he lost in his life after this, but he knew too well not to complain to his friend.

Still, Liu Yan couldn't help but wonder why Aidan was going feral?

The moment he received a call from that woman they met at the hospital, the aura around Aidan changed instantly. He almost looked murderous.

Every single cell in his body tingled in fear when he saw Aidan like this.

In Liu Yan's mind, he thought he had already gained some immunity towards Aidan's wrath. But when he saw it for the first time in years, behind those pair of intimidating eyes, he knew he could never get used to this side of his friend in an instant.

"Don't worry, the military police will be there before anything happens," Liu Yan reassuringly told him.

It was fortunate that they found out the location of the woman they met at the hospital quickly. And it was just a couple of minutes away from the club. Liu Yan wondered if this was fate.

Aidan didn't respond to him.

Liu Yan reminded him before it was too late, "When we arrive there, don't kill him."

Aidan coldly replied, "Got it."
