My Enemy’s Daughter

Rhett didn't know how he got home but he found himself taking the stairs and going to his room completely forgetting he was avoiding Genevieve. He stumbled down the hall and paused when he saw two guards standing outside his bedroom door.

"What are you doing here?" He asked in a low and quiet tone.

The men looked at each other before one answered his question, "You asked us to stay here boss,"

Rhett frowned, he could not remember telling them this.

"Alright, you can leave," he dismissed them and walked into the room.

He knew it was late and nobody should be up at this time not even his wife but he was surprised when he walked into the room and found someone awake, sitting on the bed.

"You're home," the female voice said causing his frown to deepen.

He frowned when he realized who the person was,

"You are still up?" He asked as he walked fully into the room.
