Yuan yuan left her workplace in haste after she had texted Jin the address of the place to meet her. She had hurried home to change into a black short leather skirt and a sleeveless hand mini top.
She applied a lot of makeup, trying to enhance her features. However, she always paled in comparison to her friend Stacy, who seemed to effortlessly radiate beauty.
When she arrived at the designated meeting spot, she texted Jin to know where he was. He told her he was by the left side where the other bar was located. As she approached him, she put on an angry face. When Jin tried to hug her, she slightly pushed him away.
"Leave me alone, you only want her," she said as she sat opposite him.
Jin smiled at her jealousy, finding it endearing. "You look beautiful when you're jealous," he remarked. Yuan yuan stared daggers at him, her eyes filled with a mix of anger and insecurity.
She was beginning to doubt his love for her and feel insecure seeing that Stacy was back.
"You know I love you. Don't worry, just give me a little bit of time, okay?".
Jin said, as he stretched his hand and caressed her cheeks before placing a warm kiss on her lips. A smile crept onto Yuan yuan's face, but she pulled away.
"Fine, just a little time. I don't know how much I can take," she replied, her voice laced with uncertainty.
Jin stood up and dragged her to the dance floor. As soon as they got there, he was still holding Yuan yuan's hand when he heard a very familiar voice calling his name.
When he turned to see the person his face turned pale, He froze in his spot when he turned and saw Stacy. He couldn't have imagined in his wildest dream she would be here, this was bad really bad.
He immediately left Yuan yuan's hand, leaving her shocked and angry. She too had not expected Stacy to be here, she was rather angry and jealous.
"What are you both doing here?" she tried to ask, looking at both of them. She couldn't understand what was going on. Why were they here together? She hoped it wasn't what she was thinking.
She couldn't take it so she prayed they were not doing anything here together. She knew that Yuan yuan had a thing for Jin but she wouldn't do such a thing to her right?.
Jin was silent, speechless. He tried to muster words, but his brain seemed to go blank as he stared at Stacy with a nervous look.
However, Yuan yuan cut in with a smile, desperately trying to deceive Stacy. "I just arrived with my colleagues for a little party and I ran into Jin just now," she said, hoping this explanation would be enough.
Yuan yuan was tense, her heart pounding in her chest. This was not how she had hoped the evening would go.
Jin finally loosened up and smiled, trying to play along. "Yes, yes, I just met her," he said, his smile betraying his nervousness. Stacy felt something was wrong, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
She turned to Jin, her eyes searching for answers. "I thought you said you would be working late?" she asked, her voice filled with suspicion.
Jin tensed up again, struggling to come up with a plausible explanation. "Uhh... umm, I came with my employees for a time out. They have been requesting me to take them out," he stammered.
Stacy looked at both of them, her intuition telling her that something was amiss. However, she decided to let it go for now. "That's good. Since we're all here, let's celebrate then", she said, holding Jin's hand as she dragged him towards an empty seat. Yuan yuan was fuming with anger, but she tried to mask it, not wanting to ruin the evening.
As they all sat down, Stacy sat close to Jin, resting her head on his shoulder. "So Stacy, what did you want to tell me about earlier this afternoon?" Yuan yuan asked, her irritation and anger seeping through her words.
Stacy, oblivious to the tension in the air, replied with excitement, "Oh yeah, Dad finally agreed to let me work at the hospital!"
Yuan yuan forced a smile on her face, trying to hide her true emotions. "Wow, I'm so happy for you," she said, her voice lacking genuine enthusiasm.
The night continued with drinking and chatting, the atmosphere growing more strained with each passing moment.
As the clock struck midnight, Stacy was already drunk, having surpassed her limit. She couldn't walk properly, staggering as she held onto Jin for support.
In her drunken state, she mumbled, "You... both of you seem to be hiding something from me."
Jin and Yuan yuan tensed up, their hearts pounding in their chests. Before they could respond, Stacy continued, her words slurred but filled with trust, "I trust you both. You won't do anything to hurt me." She said.
