"Liz wasn't fault." Alex said.
"When I don't understand." I looked at him questioningly. He sighed.
"It was Liz's birthday that day. She really wanted us to be together, but Marissa had to left due to a negotiation. Liz appeared in a doorway when I spoke with Marissa and she wanted to spoke with her mother. I gave her a phone and she told Marissa to stay there in the hotel because she saw in the news that there was a terrible storm in London. After she gave me back the phone, I told her that Marissa brought the gift for her. I spoke into the phone to get on the plane calmly nothing will go wrong. Five hours later we got a phone call saying one of the engines stopped due to the storm, so the plane crashed, and no one survived. Liz therefore blames me mainly because I told her mom to get on the plane. That day she went into the bath and ate about six eye sleeping pills and I found her next to the tub. Fortunately, they washed her stomach in the hospital and she survived. Then, after the incident, she promised she won't do it again." He paused and looked at the mug.
"Did she keep her promise?" He took a deep breath.
"She tried it again on her birthday last year." He whispered. I started to tear and wiped my eyes.
"I have since processed what happened. They are here for me. Although they aren't my own children." There were a few minutes of silence between us. It can be awful to grow up without a real family member, but they are very lucky that someone cares about them. "I'm rude. Do you want some tea?" He asked. I shook my head.
"I'd rather go back to the living room." When I almost got out, I heard a sniff and pounding footsteps hurrying towards the second floor. I turned back into the doorway.
"I really would have one more question." He raised his eyebrow. "What will happen tomorrow?" He smiled.
"Liz and Noel always get up at six thirty on a weekday. The school start at eight o'clock. Every day I will take you by car and bring you home. You are a foreign exchange student who actually came from Spain. The headmaster and deputy headmaster only know who you really are. You have to lie to the teachers and the students. You should study properly like the other students because your results are returned to the castle. It is suitable for you?" He asked.
"Yes, it is. What do I need?" I asked.
"I thought you brought booklets so you can take notes in them, but you can ask your classmates or teachers beforehand. Also, you need a pencil case and false documents are also needed. I give them to you tomorrow." He said.
"Why is this necessary?"
"Just in case. I don't think you want to fail." I shook my head. "Any other question?" He smiled.
"No, I haven't." I said.
"Go and pack things in one of your bags!" I did what he said and since I had no better thing to do afterwards, I sat down on the couch and I watched a movie.
"Let's go to eat dinner!" Noel appeared on the doorway. I went after him, but I stopped in the kitchen doorway when I saw Liz sitting in her place. She looked at me hostilely.
"Can't I eat later?" I asked in surprised.
"Then me too." Noel said.
"Don't make you feel uncomfortable because of me! I'd rather go up. My appetite is gone anyway." Liz said and looked at me scornfully. She got up, bypassed me, and went up the stairs. I bowed my head and started staring at the floor.
"She has to stay thin anyway." Noel said and sat down his chair.
"Why?" I asked.
"Cheerleaders are prescribed a strict diet. There must be a certain weight to be able to lift her. However, she isn't a fatty type, so she doesn't have to strictly follow a diet. She is too strict for herself." Alex sighed. "I tried to get her to eat more a long time ago, but she refuses."
"Good as long as she eats isn't it?" I asked.
"She has eaten much less in recent weeks than usual. I'm afraid that if this goes like this something will happen with her." He said.
"Something?" I asked. He looked at Noel who already eat.
"Irreversible." He whispered. I could barely hear him, but when it reached my consciousness, I looked at him in shock. He put his index finger in front of his mouth, and he looked at Noel, who tasted his burger. I sat down to eat my burger too and I stood up after ten minutes.
"It reminds me now." Alex touched his forehead. "Jason called me about an hour ago and asked for your phone number. Is it okay to I give it to him?" I nodded with a smile on my face.
"Uuu. Who is this Jason?" Noel looked at me with a wide grin. "Your boyfriend?" I rolled my eyes.
"He is my friend." I said.
"Then why did you blush?" He tilted his head to the right side.
"It's not true!" I said indignantly, and I really blushed.
"You don't believe that either." He said.
"Bye!" I said offended and went into the room.
I found my phone which was on the table and looked at it. An unknown number called me three times. The last call was two minutes ago. Since there was no phone number there, I put it on the table but as soon as I did it, it started to rang and I picked it up.
"Hallo?" I asked.
"Hello Amanda." Jason greeted me in a cheerful voice.
"There is no way to shake you off?" I asked with a smile on my face and he interrupted the line. I looked at the cell phone in confusion and I was already starting to feel bad when it rang again.
"Hallo?" I asked again.
"My answer is no." He laughed.
"Sorry." I said contritely.
"No problem. But if you still want to stay my friend you can't say like that." He said.
"Ok." I said.
"Oh my god! What happened with you? You are so obedient. I like it but it scares me."
"If you could." I sighed and sat down on the couch."
"Tell it to the best person ever." He said.
"For Alex?" I asked.
"No!" He said in a whimpering voice. I smiled.
"Let's see!" I pretended to think, but he couldn't see that. "For James?" He growled. I laughed.
"You finally laugh." I smiled.
"Thanks to the best man." I thought he smile smugly. I bit my mouth so I wouldn't laugh.
"Thanks to Felipe." I laughed.
"Don't even mention him!" He sighed.
"Something happened with him?" I asked.
"No, I just want to forget what happened. You should tell me something. I can't hear in your voice that you would be too hilarious." He said.
"Can't we talk about something else?" I asked shyly.
"Don't divert the topic! Who was that?" He asked.
"Who?" I asked with a frown.
"Who made you like that. You can't fool me!" He said in a raised voice.
"Are you spying on me?" I asked.
"I guessed right?" He asked.
"Yeah." I sighed.
"Ten points for Gryffindor. I'm sorry. You don't…" He started but I interrupted him.
"Are you a Harry Potter fan?" I asked with a smile.
"Yes, I am. How do you know this movie?" He asked with sincere curiosity in his voice.
"TV." I rolled my eyes.
"Tell me what happened!" He said.
"I thought you forgot." I said sadly.
"You were almost successful. Harry Potter is my weak point. So?" I sighed and tell him everything. While I was talking, he didn't say anything. He made some sound, so I know he is still here and I'm not talking to the wall.
"Not bad. Wow! Did Liz do that? Is Alex lying? Doesn't Noel know the truth?" He asked.
"Yeah. Approx." I said.
"This is rough! I still have to process this mass of information." There was little silence at the far end of the line.
"Amanda?" I heard Alex voice and turned to him. "You can go to the bath here, I brought you a shower gel and shampoo."
"Thank you, Alex." I said and he walked out the room.
"Give the phone for him." I heard Jason's voice.
"Why?" I asked.
"Just do it!" I went after Alex, he was on the third stair.
"Jason would like to speak with you." He turned around and took over the phone from my hand with a smile on his face.
"Hi, bro. What's…" He became silent.
"Jason I can't do that." Break. "No!" Break. "This is her punishment." Break. "I won't speak with him. You need to speak with him." Break. "I thought. What the hell is wrong with you?" Break. "Jason!" Break. "Jason?" He lifted it from his ear.
"What's up?" I asked.
"He would like to ask me that I take you home." I pulled my mouth away. "What did you say to him?" He asked.
"The truth." He sighed and gave back my phone.
"Come! I show you how to pull out the couch and back."
After he showed it, I went to take a shower. As long as they need to share a bath above luckily, this is just mine. When I was done with everything I went back to the room and tried to sleep. I was out of my mind today and I was nervous about tomorrow. I hope don't everyone similar like Liz and I can make friends. I thought about it so much that I felt I needed to go the toilet. As I approached it, I saw light coming out over the glass of the kitchen's door. I opened it slowly. Someone was leaning toward the fridge, but I could only see the person's feet. I quickly grabbed the first thing that got my hands on it. It was a wooden spoon. Not bad, but it doesn't protect me. I slowly approached the fridge with the wooden spoon which I was holding in front of me. I saw Liz's hair. I lowered my hand. I sighed. She turned in fright. She had cheese in her hand.
"What are you doing?" We asked at the same time.
"What does it look like? I would like to eat." She said. I smiled. "Why is so funny?" I shrugged. "Do you want to cook or what?" I looked at the spoon.
"I thought you were a burglar." I said.
"You are the only burglar." Then we heard a knock. We looked at the door in frightened.
"Shit!" Alex said in a muffled voice. She looked at me in fright and she pressed the cheese into my hand. She hid behind the kitchen counter as fast as she can. Someone turned on the lights. I squinted and turned to the person.
"What are you doing?" Alex asked.
"Hmm." I looked down at the cheese. "Am I eating a cheese?" I asked.
"Now?" He asked in surprised.
"I'm hungry." I shrugged.
"What about the wooden spoon?" He looked at my other hand.
"If they attack." I said.
"Who?" He asked.
"The cheese eater monsters. Haven't you heard of them? They come down at night and take away all the cheese and nothing is left in the morning." I said seriously. I glanced behind the counter where Liz was trying to contain her laughter.
"Other times feel free to say you're still hungry. You are our guest." I nodded. "When you are done, turn off the lights. Good night!" He said and walked away.
"Good night!" When we didn't hear his footsteps anymore, Liz stood up and took the cheese out of my hand and started to walk to the door.
"Thank you or something?" I asked in disbelief. She turned back in the doorway, smiled faintly, and disappeared from my sight.
"What a diabolical creature!" I shook my head. I closed the refrigerator door, turned off the lights and finally went into the toilet. I went to the living room and I finally fell asleep.
