CHAPTER THREE
SPECIAL, HE IS
Arthur got back to his chamber and sighed, he turned to olive, his servant and he saw him staring away from his direction he knew he was mad at him
"Mm…" he was trying to say when Olive shot him, you will never listen look, he swallowed his words knowing olive was angry, this is the time he needs his stubborn sister, apart from Williams, olive was his friend though he was older than him, and he hates him getting mad at him, all he needs now is Anne his twin sister that will help him beg the furious olive. Everywhere was silent and Arthur was feeling awkward with the silence until the maid came in with his cloth, He quickly stood up ready to wash up. He stares at the furious Olive before he left for the washroom.
Hours later, Anne banged inside Arthur's chamber,
" Did you swallow your manner? Why can't you knock?"
" If I swallow it, will you give me your own?" Anne asked and Arthur chuckled.
Anne sat on his bed.
" Hey I heard you cause trouble and I found it hard to believe that because you don't always cause trouble but who knows? You are my twin brother, anyway, you may have become like me" Anne said and smirked.
"Should I?" Arthur asked in a mockery tone
" Don't be it won't suit you," she said and Arthur chuckled again
" I don't cause trouble I just state what I saw, it's a dream and I told him"
"What did you dream of?" Anne asked and Arthur told her everything and how he went to the king's chamber and how he had promised to grant what he said. After narrating, he suddenly looks at his sister,
" but how did you know?" Arthur asked, confused.
" What did you think of your sister? My spy is here" Anne said proudly,
" Ohh". Arthur nodded and look at his proud sister. Then he remembered something,
" I need your favor"
"What?"
" Mum will come to my chamber today because of what happened and Mona sent a letter, her mother is sick, and she needs me to be there". Arthur said, and look at his sister. Anne sighed and look at his brother.
" what if they are..." Anne was saying
"Anne" he interrupted, knowing no one will visit her chamber,
" mother will be here. You missed her, don't you?" He stares at her sister, whose tears filled her eyes.
" Anne, she will be here. Use that chance" Arthur said, staring at the tears in her sister's eyes, he knew that was her only weakness. Their mother never visits her chamber.
Anne exhaled through her mouth.
" Okay, let's do that," she said, fake smiling.
Arthur smiled and they both changed into each other clothes. He rolled down his packed-up hair and do it just like Anne's own. Anne, on the other hand, rolled up her hair like that of Arthur's own. She helps him with the makeup.
Arthur smiled at his sister.
" Thank you, Anne" then she smiled and Arthur made the move to leave when Anne called.
" Arthur, tell her your feelings and tell her you are a prince"
" I don't think I have the confidence to say that now, but I will try," Arthur said
"Anne" Arthur called
" what? I am Arthur and you are Anne" she said and they both giggled
" take care Arthur," Arthur said and leave. Leaving his chamber. He bumped into Olive. He bit down his lip. Furthermore, he bowed trying to act like his sister, but olive turned to him
" where are you going this time your Highness?"
Arthur bit down his lip again and signed
" Did you want to tag along"
olive smiled" how I wish I do that"
Then he turned to him and shot him a dreadful look
" but who will take care of her Highness?"
"Ahh right"
"Then I will get going," Olive said sounding mean but with a warm face. He left
" aww, he loves nagging," he said irritated, and left.
Inside Arthur's chamber, Anne was weeping silently, and then she remembered the dream she had this morning.
........ She was weeping... She was scared..... Not only that, but she doesn't know what she feared. Furthermore, she called for help, she was weak and tired... Then she saw the silver eye. She sighed, relieved.
" I'm going to save you because you are MY PREY." she heard the silver eyed said
' my prey, my prey, my prey' it echoed in her ear as if it will make her deaf.
He picked her up. She started at him, but she could only see the silver eyes. She then closed her eyes, feeling safe in his arms...
Anne shook her head, snapping out of her thought,
" Am I crazy? I'm his prey, how can I still feel safe? " She sighed, feeling confused then she looked around immediately, having the feeling that someone is looking at her but found nothing then, she remembers the silver eyes..... As she was thinking, she heard Olive announce the arrival of their mother. She gulped feeling nervous then their mother came in looking worried, she stares at her mother as she held her hand gently thinking she was her twin brother. Tears blinded her; how she yearned for her touch, she missed her, and she wished she could come to her chamber even for a minute. She quickly wiped her tears and bowed down
" what brings you here your Highness," she said sounding like her brother.
" your Highness I heard what you did today" she touched her hand and rub it gently.
" I am your mother, you should have told me first, telling the king isn't the right thing. It is risky. You know why? Because you are special". Anne looked up at her mother,
' what? Arthur is special? Is that why her mother treats them so differently' Tears blurred her vision as her mother rubbed her hands with care thinking she was her twin brother.
" Don't tell anyone that you are special, huh?"
Anne looked at her, suppressing her tears
" Even my twin sister?" she asked and watched the expression on her mother
" Never! Don't ever tell her, " Anne watched as her mother said with disgust.
" I will never tell her, your Highness," Anne said, bowing.
" you will have to stay prepared. The rain ritual is a few days to come".
Anne clenched her fists and bowed.
"your Highness, why... Did… You …. Never… Visit … Anne's chamber… Not even once?". Anne said, swallowing hard, Feeling Nervous, yeah she had wished to know the truth for years she was sad, and she just wanted to know the truth
She saw her mother turn to her having a disgusted look on her face.
" Did she tell you to ask me that?"
"No, I just noticed". Anne said, Sad and disappointed.
" I will come back to check on you" with this, she stood up and left and Anne bowed. Tears blurred her vision. And after she swept out of Arthur's chamber, she collapsed to the floor and wept silently. Olive sighed, already knowing what was going on.....
Outside the palace, Arthur has changed into another cloth; dressing like a child from the Noble house. He bought the drugs that were prescribed for Mona's mother, and it was used for her. Both of them went out, giving her time to rest. Both of them were quiet, making the atmosphere awkward.
Mona cleared her voice,
" Thank you, my lord. I'm appreciative" she said and Arthur smiled
"it's okay" He smiled and all of a sudden, Anne, he remembered what Anne said 'tell her your feelings and tell her you are a prince'. He shook his head and look at Mona who was looking adorable at that time and his heart skipped a bit. He clenched his fist hard and hold his cloth feeling Nervous,
" Mona,… I… Have feelings for you". Arthur finally split out, he expected to see a mix of confused and disappointed expressions on her face but instead, she smiled, blushing. Arthur smiled, knowing her answer means yes but... .. He signed,
" But... Mona… I… I'm a prince. My father is prince Eul, the second prince". He said, willing to see a happy expression on her face, but a dazed and unbelievable expression appeared on her face. Arthur was sad, he had expected this, but the expression on her face squeezed his heart, and it was unbearable for him. He stood up, knowing he will soon explode.
" I will come back later," He said, his back facing her. Then he suddenly hear her stand up,
" Don't come back. Your Highness, please don't come again, I thank you for all You've done I will make sure to repay it" she said and rushed away. Arthur's leg became numb, and he held the tree for support. He was trying to suppress his tears. He was holding it in, but his leg became weak and he fell down, bursting into tears...
