Lady Kaliyah tilted her head, her crimson eyes gleaming with amusement. “Can we have that dragon?” she asked casually, as if requesting a favor. “It’s really important we get it before the day runs out.”
Lady Kaliyah really is something; imagine asking someone who’s taking their dog for a walk, “Can I have your dog? For good? Come back for it, and I’ll sue you, you know.”
And she genuinely expected them to comply.
The sun had fully set now, and a shimmering full moon hung high in the sky, casting its silvery ray over the blood-soaked ground.
"What do you need him for?" Miss ponytail lady asked.
"We need his blood for a ritual..." Lady Kaliyah replied, her tone so casual as if she were asking to buy veggies from a super market.
