CH-9 Weak Monke

Jin's POV

"Okay let me get this straight, you saw my soul drifting around the edges of your Universe's boundary and felt the System trying to create a new body for me."

"Yes." The Monkey King ate another peach while sitting on the branch of a peach tree which was the size of a 2-floor building.

"So you came to see what was happening in person and dropped some of your blood which was absorbed by the system and helped me in creating this body"

"Yup. That's everything I know as I'm not that good at handling the soul but I'm pretty great at sensing energy and that felt like the best choice as you would most probably die due to your soul processing itself to make your body. Here eat this peach and feel happy! At least you now get a body full of untapped potential waiting for you to unleash it and a healthy soul too."

I raised my right arm and caught the peach, taking a bite unconsciously as my mind was trying to process all the information I got right now.

Wow, this is good. Like I could eat this forever good. How would the Peach Ice tea made from these taste? I should make some when I get my hands on these someday.

Hmmmmm, I'm feeling really dizzy right now. let me just take a 10 minutes power nap.

6 hours later -

Did someone switch on the fan, too much noise! Just let me sleep for a goddamn second.

I opened half of my eyes in a dizzy manner before looking downwards and finding myself flying on a cloud at a really high altitude while I could see The Monkey King sitting ahead of me.

I stretched my arms and legs a little before going near him and sitting beside him.

"What exactly was in the peach? and where are we going?" The island looks really beautiful from up here. I need to make sure to remember this place as a Honeymoon spot.

"What you ate was the Peach of Immortality which gives a normal Human being around 1000 years of vitality, As for you, I needed to make sure you don't die while I train you. and for your second question we are going to an empty mountain to train."

Huh.

Did the Monkey King just take me in as his disciple? Why?

"You should call me Master now, And as you are my first and last disciple don't expect any leniency while training. You are only leaving this Island after you learn all that I know and create your own set of martial arts. I won't ask for you to reach my level as that won't be possible just by training. But remember after you leave, the next time we meet, I want you to beat me."

"Ok master!" To be completely honest, I was scared of what the training might have but the excitement and the thirst to get strong overpowered it.

"Out of all the versions I've met of myself Jin, you are the weakest."

Ouch. I mean I did just get the power recently, So it makes sense, but it still hurts my pride a little.

"I'm not talking about the power, potential, or skills. It's your mindset, willpower, and determination that make you the weakest. I can see in your eyes that you haven't had any real setbacks or suffering but that still doesn't give you the excuse to have such a weak will."

"If you want to reach the level where I am and higher, it will impossible for the current you, So we're training your mind first. Change into these."

I took the dark grey robes and black pants from him while thinking about his words seriously. That was the bitter truth. My biggest weaknesses were the limits I put on myself. I used my nonchalant attitude to run away and avoid things rather than face and overcome them. Let's try and change things now. It's better late than never and I don't want to waste my second chance at being someone great staying inside my comfort zone.

After changing my clothes and wearing the robes, I walked towards my master and kneeled near his feet. "Please teach me, Master!"

With a wide smile on his face, he patted my shoulder, and said, "Good! You see the peak of that mountain Jin?" he spoke as he made a line of light that showed the directions to the peak.

I don't think I like where this is going.

"That's exactly 300 KM from here. Now jump and run without stopping for a single second. If you even stop for a single moment I'll know and you'll have no food or water for a week."

This demon. How can you even say things like that with such a smile on your face?

"Can I back out now?"

"Sorry too late! Now go jump, I'll only lower the cloud once, If you don't jump you better find a way to get down by yourself and then start running. I'll meet you at the top."

Fuck.

(A/N) - The True Monke training begins!.. We'll have a big time skip in the next chapter, As I've got different preparations for the training arc chapters....This was the last chapter for today....
