When Martin searched for Emily, he could not find her among their friends. Then he noticed Steven coming in his direction.

"Do you know where Emily is?" Martin inquired, his voice tinged with concern.

Steven gave a small smile and replied, "She's in the guest room on the second floor."

"Thank you," Martin said, nodding in appreciation.

He made his way up the stairs, his mind racing with thoughts of the day's events and the conversation he needed to have with Emily. As he reached the second floor, he found the door to the guest room slightly ajar. He knocked gently before pushing it open.

Emily was sitting on the edge of the bed, her hands clasped in her lap. She looked up as he entered, her eyes reflecting a mixture of relief and apprehension.

"Hey," Martin said softly, stepping into the room and closing the door behind him. "Steven told me you were here. I wanted to check on you."
