Hidden Dungeon (2)

I observed the 5 kobolds that were glaring at me.

[Maniacal Kobold lvl 15]

"Damn," I cursed as I looked at the [Maniacal Kobold]. In the hands of the maniacal kobold was a spear. Not only that the maniacal kobold was bigger and more muscular than the regular kobolds. 

Its fur was different from the regular kobolds as well which had brown fur rather its fur was a crimson red that matched its eyes. 

Suddenly one of the feral kobolds charged toward me. Reacting instantly I used a magic barrier which caused a light blue tinted barrier to appear in front of me.

The barrier blocked the kobold's claws, allowing me to raise my staff quickly.

*BOOM*

This caused the other Kobolds to attack causing me to curse again. 

I then started to run forward taking advantage of my boots. I quickly maneuvered around one activated flameforge and slashed downward.

I then activated Magic Barrier allowing me to block a few more attacks.

Suddenly small orbs of light appeared around the 3 other kobolds. 

*BOOM*

Suddenly more explosions happened causing the cavern to fill with smoke. However, noticing that I didn't receive any notifications I activated the magic barrier. A second later a few attacks were blocked by the barrier causing me to let out a cold breath.

I then activated [Flame Arrow] causing an arrow made of flames to appear. I pulled the arrow back on the magic string of the staff and launched an arrow to where one of the attacks had come from.

Clicking my tongue the smoke quickly dispersed allowing me to charge at the remaining feral kobold. Running toward it I had raised my staff toward the manicale kobold. 3 balls of light appeared followed by an explosion. 

Activating Flameforgde I sliced the Kobold in half

Just as I was about to celebrate I quickly activated a magic barrier blocking the spear aimed at my head.

But I quickly dispelled the barrier and moved to the side. I stepped to the side allowing the maniacal kobold's momentum to take over. At the same time, I activated flameforged.

As the kobold was running I swung my flame-covered staff down beheading it.

I slumped to the floor while drinking the mana and health recovery potions. 

This shouldn't have been as hard as it was. This was due to my [Dash] skill which made things a lot harder for enemies to hit me. However, I decided not to use it in this dungeon but this also confirmed my fear. 

"I've already become rusty," I muttered 

Even though it had already been around an hour since I had gained the dash skill I had grown to rely on it almost forgetting some of my moves. But then again I lacked the thing that made mages special and that was mana. 

Or to be specific I lacked a large pool of mana. But then my attention turned to my boots.

"I should upgrade this soon," 

I then got up and continued into the dungeon. After I walked for a bit I encountered a group of 10 kobolds. As the many pairs of crimson eyes landed on me a bitter smile appeared on my face "Yea I'm totally fucked,"

'I guess that's why that guy took an entire party'

In the previous timeline, the player took his entire party and said that it was easy after completing the dungeon. But I suppose being level 18 to 20 was overboard for this dungeon however, I was level 11!

'I guess this is what I get for being overconfident'

-Howl!

"Grrr,"

"Grara!"

"Raaa,"

After the biggest among them the level 17 Frenzied Kobold howled the others started to run toward me. With a breath, I aimed my staff ahead of me causing a bunch of small bright orbs to appear. 

*BOOOOM*

A sudden loud explosion rocked the dungeon however, I didn't pay attention to that rather I looked at my skill which had finally leveled up again. 

[Skill [Fire Blast] has leveled up!]

[Lvl 4 > Lvl 5] 

Smirking I then raised my staff again and repeated the same thing. But immediately stopped as soon as my mana reached half. 

I quickly drank another mana potion and looked at the messages that appeared in front of me.

Letting out a breath I quickly activated my magic barrier blocking a spear that was aimed at my chest. Raising my staff I quickly activated [Fire Arrow] and aimed at the distance in the smoke.

*Howl-!*

Once I heard a howl I let go of the arrow and I then heard a whimper before a message appeared in front of me. 

[You're skill [Flame Arrow] has given the [Burn] effect to [Frenzied Kobold Pack Leader lvl 17]!]

[The [Frenzied Kobold Pack Leader]'s HP will drip by 1 every 10 seconds!]

Smiling I then activated [Flameforgde] and swung my staff at the Maniacal Kobold however, it was able to dodge. But I quickly aimed my staff behind me before I activated [Fireblast]. 

*BOOM*

I was then sent flying toward the Frenzied Kobold and activated [Flameforgde] mid-air. I then swung down my staff near the Frenzied Kobold however, it quickly jumped back causing me to hit nothing. 

I then charged toward it swinging and thrusting my staff however, it was able to dodge it well but then the message that I waited for appeared. 

[-1 Damage]

This caused the Frenzied Kobold to freeze momentarily allowing me to swing my staff. But just as my attack was about to connect it moved back. However, I was able to graze it a little leaving a black line over its chest. Pointing my staff at it again I quickly used [Fire Blast] to launch myself back. 

When I landed in the center of the pack of Kobolds. However, as the Kobolds were charging toward me I used [Fireblast] again causing small orbs of light to appear around me before there was a giant explosion. 

*BOOOM*

Looking around I saw the giant kobolds lying around me. 

"Seriously not dead?" Drinking a magic potion I then cast [Fireblast] again causing small orbs of light to appear above them before they exploded.

Grabbing a mana potion I drank it and looked at the [Frenzied Kobold Pack Leader] who was still alive. 

"RAAAAAA!" 

Picking up a sword from his feet it roared. 

"Hey wait! Where did you get the fucking sword!?" 

It then charged toward me and I then used [Fire Arrow] and launched the arrow it. However, it merely dodged by tilting its body to the left. 

I decided not to use [Fireblast] right now as it probably would use too much mana. So I used Flameforge instead. 

I charged toward it and swung down the staff however, the blade merely collided with the staff. Smiling I then activated [Fireblast].

A small ball of light appeared in front of the Kobold causing its eyes to widen. 

*BOOM*

"Yea suck that you piece of shit," however, I then slumped on the floor

"God, how the hell am I this out of shape?" 

Before the VR pod was released the helmets were popular. However, one thing that wasn't widely known was that the more fit you are the better the experience. 

Getting up from the floor and drinking a Mana Potion I looked at the remaining ones and let out a sigh. 

"I can't wait to get 'that' skill after this quest," I mumbled 

I continued to walk and thankfully there weren't many Kobolds but then I made it to a door. I then pointed my staff to the door before I cast [Fireblast] "Explode,"

The door then exploded open. 

In the center of the room was a very muscular man with 2 huge blades beside him. Not only that there were many Kobolds in the room. However, my jaw dropped as I looked at the name tag above the man in the center.

So like…I'm totally fucked, right?
