MMO GrimWorld: Reincarnation of the Overlord

Arcane Realm's Overlord was killed, slayed by the top powerhouses of Arcane Realm, or so they thought. But Arlan, the Overlord of Death, didn't die. Instead, he managed to reincarnate in the modern world into the body of a young man with the same name. And on the same day, that young man was looking forward to playing the mysterious MMO, GrimWorld Online, as it was the launch day. However, he was killed by an assassin who worked for money that his close friend hired. Arlan revived, but he was not the same. In his body lived the other Arlan, the Overlord! Death was his Domain. Life was his plaything. And creating Horrors was his favorite activity.

Mayhem of Death (1/2)

"There was no need to kill the boss for this Gravity Rune, humph. Anyway, since we got it, then let's hurry to their location," Kengi said with a snort, unduly eager to see Arlan getting beaten up and dying by her grandmother.

"What are you getting antsy about, lass?" A middle-aged woman with a hot figure patted Kengi's head with a smile.

"Grandma June, you must not kill him easily but painfully," Kengi said as she turned to the woman who looked like she was in her forties, with big melons on her chest, lush-long black hair, and a beautiful face.

June didn't look like a Grandma at all, but that was common in the Astral Community as she kept her prime, hot appearance despite being over seventy years old. Even the top powerhouses looked in their middle ages despite being hundreds of years old, but there were some exceptions as some chose to keep their appearance slightly older.

However, there was a limit, as they couldn't make themselves look too much younger. Their body wouldn't change structures to their twenties, teens, or even thirties after passing a certain age limit.

Looking in the forties was the checked limit, which was why Luna and others were surprised to know Arlan was that strong despite his young appearance.

"We only saw the map once at the start. What if they already changed their location?" William asked with a frown. "Not everyone needs to go there."

[ William: Half of you, come with us at their last spotted location, while the other half can scatter.]

[ Luna: No need. ]

William and Kengi confusedly turned to Luna.

Luna's expression was dark as she cleared their confusion, "That bastard just messaged me and told me that he and his guild members are still at their previous known location and even sent me a photo of them together."

"Elder June, It's up to you," Luna said as she turned to the hot woman floating in the air.

The only elder with them was June, but she was middle echelon in power and more powerful than the regular elders of the clan.

Luna was confident Elder June could show Arlan his place and defeat him.

[ Luna: Everyone! Follow us! ]

The one thousand players of UmbraFall Guild moved towards the last shown location of their enemies on the map.

Their speed was quick because of the Gravity Rune, so it didn't take long to arrive there as they saw Arlan floating in the sky and others standing on top of the green hill before them.

Elder June narrowed her eyes as she inspected Arlan. Naturally, she couldn't see full stats but used her soul sense to gauge his power.

But she was unable to gauge his power, causing her to frown. 'It seems that he has good control over his aura.'

"Welcome, my dear enemies." Arlan smiled at them, his voice echoing far and wide as a section of stream screens in every town plaza focused on him.

The players saw Arlan stretching his right arm upward, his hand's index finger open, and the rest clutched into fists as a faint white-grayish aura burst out of him.

June crossed her arms below her ample bosom and floated upward at the same level as Arlan.

She didn't say nor did anything, as she wanted to see Arlan's attack first and measure his power.

'His magic power is weak… but that,' June's eyes slowly widened as she saw Arlan oozing out a malevolent aura.

A gloomy and dreadful atmosphere suddenly descended in the area as Arlan consumed his soul force and flashily showed his move for all to see.

[ A new soul skill detected…]

A demonic white skull appeared the size of a watermelon, and a deathly black flamy aura covered it.

And then another same skull manifested beside it.

In but just five seconds, a total of five hundred such skulls appeared as they menacingly floated above him; their empty eye sockets with black wisps caused everyone's skin to crawl.

"Five hundred of you will die first. Get ready," Arlan said, his face still with the same devilish grin.

At that, he descended his arm and pointed it at the group of thousand players at the foot of the hill.

*clak…clak…clak…*

All the skulls started making sounds as they constantly smacked their jaws together, creating disturbing scenery.

The spectacle that Arlan displayed caused a worldwide uproar among players, and more players slowly rushed toward Town Plaza after hearing news from their friends and chats.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck…."

"What in the literal hell is that?!!"

"I want that frigging skill!!"

"I am sure he is an NPC. Yes, I am sure. There's no way…"

On the other hand, the Guild Members of UmbraFall guild were shell-shocked.

June's expression turned somber because her senses were demented when she tried to gauge Arlan's powers.

From the skulls, she focused her attention back on Arlan, only to see him staring right at her, his gaze involuntarily sending her shivers.

"You will be the last. So, obediently stand and watch," Arlan said as he blinked once, forcefully applying his raw soul pressure on her to suppress her before finally unleashing the barrage of five hundred skulls.

Those terrifying skulls shot forward like fire-cracker rockets, all chaotically moving as if alive towards the UmbraFall guild members below!

Luna, William, Kengi, and other upper-echelon guild members had dread in their eyes because the skull's power indicated that they wouldn't be able to block the incoming barrage of crazy skulls!

The rest of the members quickly utilized their various defensive skills in haste.

"Elder June," Luna said as she turned to Elder June in the sky; Kengi and William also looked up to her as they needed her power to block this attack. But to their shock, pale white mists had locked Elder June's limbs while her expression was painful and her eyes barely opened.

"T-This… Why?!" Kengi shouted with wide eyes as she turned to Luna, "Sister Luna. Why is he so powerful?!"

"I-I don't know…." Luna stammered as her eyes reflected the incoming skulls that were getting closer.

"What do we do?" William asked while using his skill to create a black prism barrier around him.

All Blackwood clan members had darkness or wood or both affinity because of the Astral Art, Blackwood Astral Method, so most of the barriers and shields were similar.

For a short moment, the players who were watching felt they could defend against the incoming skulls.

That was… until the skulls arrived, ripped apart their barriers just by their auras touching them, and started brutally killing members of UmbraFall.

Arlan deliberately spared Luna, Kengi, and Williams as he ignored five hundred players because he wanted to kill them with a different flashy move.

The screen in the town plaza showed the rugged scenery of those skulls biting off players' heads and giving them a cruel death to their bodies as if their cells and organs died of rapid old age before vanishing into motes.

Each skull only killed one player as per Arlan's control, and in just ten seconds, the UmbraFall guild was five hundred players short.

At the moment, the outside world was buzzing on the internet because this battle was also streaming in top streaming sites due to players having connected it to their channels.

"I am not dreaming, right?"

"HOLY SHIT!"

"This is so fucking cool! And friend above that I can't see anymore, you are not dreaming!"

"You all are fucking dreaming in the gaming capsule. Wake up. This is all fake. Game developers are fucking controlling everything, I bet!"

"We have an idiot here."

"Wait for tomorrow's news; you will understand everything."

"Ready for round 2?" Arlan said with a smile. However, his smile was no less than a devil's in other people's eyes as he raised his right arm again, preparing another move. But this time, he was going to use one enormous flashy skill.

'Death Lord's Descent.'
