048. Duality of Zhen's Light and Dark Side.

"You really are a good girl."

Zhen's reaction made no sense at all. If he really liked Alice he should have been sad when he was rejected, not happy.

"How can you be happy? Doesn't your heart hurt? Did you lie about l... Li... Liking me?" Asked Alice who continued to stare at Zhen.

Zhen was still smiling cheerfully. "I'm not lying, I am indeed a little interested in you, and I'm grateful that you rejected me."

Once again, what was wrong with Zhen's friendly smile? It didn't make sense, it really didn't make sense. Alice thought that the elf must be lying but why would he need to lie? What's in it for him? And if he wasn't lying, why was he grateful to be rejected? He should have been more upset, put in more effort.

All those thoughts filling Alice's head, she continued to stare at Zhen who was full of contradictions.
