032. A Chance To Get Stronger For Alice and Zaltar

Black silhouettes and yellow lightning were seen chasing each other at a speed equivalent to the half of the speed of lightning itself.

What could be seen by the ordinary human eye was just a pitch-black line and a fiery yellow line chasing each other. Each time the two collided with each other, a huge crash was created followed by sparks of yellow lightning that spread out in all directions.

The two fast-moving lines were none other than Ethan and the demon attacking each other. 

The two slashed at each other, parried at each other, dodged at each other, in appearance that could only be described as two lightning bolts crashing into each other.

Alice and Zaltar were amazed for a moment and then rushed to help the knights. 

For each knight present, 2 little demons attacked. Each knight tried desperately to fight the demons. Although they were weaker than the main demons, their strength and speed were incredible and their sheer numbers were disturbing.

3 little demons came to surround Alice, 2 little demons came to surround Zaltar. 

"Absolute Foresight!" Alice shouted and changed her entire view. 

The speed of the little demons was slightly faster than Alice's, but she could see their future shadows. 

Alice dodged them and slashed out with one fatal blow then changed places and dodged again. 

It is impossible to stay still when fighting a fast-moving opponent, Alice tried her best to keep moving because the moment she stood still, that was the moment she would be clawed. 

One little demon jumped at Alice's face, but she managed to dodge at the last moment. Yet another little demon was already waiting where Alice dodged.

Alice managed to see the future even if only for a split second. She managed to cut the demon in half and immediately jumped away because the other 2 demons immediately attacked her the moment she managed to do the slash. 

Alice's feet continued to move and her eyes kept watching the remaining 2 little demons.

Elsewhere, Zaltar just stood still and bent his knees and waited for the 2 little demons to attack him. When the demons were within 3 feet of his body, he made a quick slash and managed to knock the little demons away. 

The two little demons looked at their slashed wrists. The two little demons managed to dodge and only received minor injuries. Both of them laughed while looking at the sweaty Zaltar.

Ethan and the main demon were still slashing at each other and it looked like they were evenly matched in terms of speed and strength. 

The demon had a quick glance at Alice and Zaltar. The demon sharpened its fingers and stabbed towards Ethan's shoulder. 

*Jrash!

The demon's hand was cut off, but that was exactly what the demon wanted. The moment after Ethan managed to cut him down, there was a split moment when Ethan's defenses was opened a bit. 

In that brief moment, the demon opened its mouth and pointed its jaws at Ethan's face. 

A row of pitch-black fangs that continued to close in on Ethan's face. 

*ZZZZZTTTTTZZZZ!!!

A pool of lightning suddenly appeared and enveloped Ethan's entire body. The lightning spread like porcupine quills piercing in all directions, including piercing towards the demon's face. 

A non-fatal but paralyzing attack for half a second. More than enough time for Ethan to deliver his slash at the demon's face.

"Tsk, he dodged," said Ethan who only managed to scratch the face of the demon who jumped away from him.

The demon laughed and immediately pressed his hands together and stabbed towards Ethan quickly like a drill. 

Ethan managed to dodge even though his armor was slightly eroded. 

The demon smiled and moved straight towards Alice and Zaltar. 

Ethan's eyes widened instantly. "Alice! Zaltar!"

Alice and Zaltar managed to defeat the small demons that attacked them, but when they heard Ethan's shout, they immediately turned towards Ethan and saw the main demon preparing to claw them. 

Zaltar and Alice instantly raised their swords. Both managed to parry the attacks, but the intense pressure threw them away.

The demon chuckled and moved towards the two people who couldn't even withstand his attack. 

The demon moved quickly towards Alice and Zaltar for the finishing blow, but Ethan made it just in time to intercept.

Ethan and the demon chased and attacked each other, leaving Alice and Zaltar who only lay down, looking at the sky. 

Everything happened so fast that both of them could only widen their eyes and think the same thing. 

'I'm not strong enough.'

The clash between Ethan's and the demon could be heard echoing throughout the battlefield and all the knights were still busy fighting the little demons.

Alice and Zaltar still lay facing the sky.

Alice looked at her sword, 'How can I fight someone who is faster than me?'

Zaltar looked at his scimitar, 'How can I counterattack if I can't even create an opening for a counterattack?'

'Am I going to be a burden?' Alice thought. 

'Is this my limit?' thought Zaltar. 

Both of them grasped their weapons.

'No! I refuse to lose here!' Alice and Zaltar shouted in their minds.

Both of them stood up with growing determination. 

Meanwhile, Ethan and the demon were attacking and parrying each other. 

"I'm glad you brought them here," said the demon starting the conversation while exchanging attacks. 

"What do you mean?" asked Ethan as he continued to parry high-speed attacks.

The demon immediately jumped back away and shouted. Several small demons who had been busy fighting with the knights, immediately jumped up and hugged Ethan.

Those bunch of little demons restraining Ethan's movement and making him stay in place. Ethan immediately panicked and looked at Alice and Zaltar. 

"GET OUT! RUN!" Ethan shouted. 

The main demon moved towards Zaltar and Alice while laughing.

"HAHAHAHA! I'M GLAD YOU BROUGHT THE SACRIFICE!" The demon shouted. 

Zaltar jumped in front of Alice, bent his knees and crouched down. Holding his Scimitar in a reverse grip. 

'If I can't make an opening, I'll force him to make one!' Zaltar shouted in his mind.

The demon clawed at Zaltar, but it get parry successfully. Despite its powerful attack, Zaltar was not knocked away due to his strong stance.

Zaltar let the demon's attack slide in the direction of his scimitar directed to and let the demon continue to get closer.

Zaltar immediately changed his grip to a normal grip and immediately slashed towards the demon's neck. 

*Jrash! 

A scratch was made, but not deep enough as the demon managed to jump back at the very last moment. 

Quickly, the demon attacked Zaltar who was still not ready for the follow-up attack, but Alice was ready for that. 

'I may not be able to read my opponent's attacks, but I can read my own!' Alice shouted in her mind as she raised her sword upwards. 

Alice performed an extremely powerful vertical slash towards the head and forced the demon to dodge at maximum speed.

The demon disappeared from sight and Alice instantly slashed horizontally to the back.

Alice successfully slashed through the demon's chest. 

Without being able to sense the demon's presence or see the demon's movements, Alice slashed the demon using only instinct and calculation.

Blood spread out and the demon was thrown back. 

By the time the demon wanted to attack Alice and Zaltar, the 6 knights of Eleindal had surrounded and pointed their swords at the demon. 

All six knights slashed at the demon, but the demon jumped high up. 

The perfect position where Ethan was waiting. Floating in the air, ready to make the finishing slash.

"YELLOW SUN!" Ethan shouted.
