016. Nala The Crimson Chain

"Abyss transmutation magic, so, they did this to you?" asked Nala slowly keeping her distance. 

"Woah, as expected of a genius. You even know things like this. But unfortunately no, those old people have nothing to do at all," said Skar chattered as he walked around in circles leisurely while Nala continued to back away slowly.

"In that case, I congratulate you on your achievement."

"Thank you. It's an honor for you to say that. And one more thing," Skar stopped moving and looked at Nala sharply, "Isn't this distance far enough?"

Nala just smiled and immediately bit her finger until it was cut and bleed. Skar dashing forward while Nala made a magic circle quickly over her palm with her blood.

A magic circle with a downward-facing triangular symbol in the left hand, and a magic circle with an upward-facing triangular symbol in the right hand. 

By the time Nala had completed the magic circle, Skar was already in front of her and preparing to stab her with his hardened right hand and sharp fingertips.

Nala managed to avoid the fatal blow at the last moment and was only stabbed in the left shoulder. She smiled and clapped her hands. Making a magic circle in the palm of her left hand and right hand merge together. 

"Catena Valkyrie," Nala said followed by the appearance of two bright crimson-colored magic chains with sharp drill tips.

The two chains attacked Skar and forced him to jump back as one of the chains managed to pierce through his right arm until it was perforated and emitted smoke.

After looking at his own wound, Skar immediately gazed at Nala and his eyes widened instantly.

 "Hmn... I seem to understand where you know about abyss transmutation magic from." Skar corrected his posture and stood up straight. 

Nala's tunic was torn and left only a few bandages wrapped around and covering her chest. Revealing her curvy belly, collarbone, smooth armpit and basically all of her upper body except for the bandaged chest. 

It wasn't Skar's attack that tore off her clothes, but rather the movement of 4 magic chains that moved uncontrollably. 

The magic chains could be seen emerging from a crimson-colored diamond on her back. A crimson diamond about the size of two fists was located an inch below the rows of bandages. 

2 chains wrapped around Nala's upper body from below the navel to the neck and each chain separated to Nala's right and left arms. They wrapped from the shoulder to the palm of the hand.

After covering her entire upper body, the chain in Nala's left hand swirls like a tornado then docks and forms a circular shield with the tip of the chain as the center of the shield. 

The chains on Nala's right hand swirled from a large circle to a small circle and then docked to form a drill with the end of the chain as the drill bit. 

The remaining 2 chains wrapped around Nala's lower body and covered her left and right legs.

Skar smiled widely, "Abyss magic integration. I didn't think those old guys were serious about perfecting it. Hahahaha! Let's dance! Nala the crimson chain!"

"Ara... Ara... I'm really flattered that someone would want to dance with an old woman like me." Nala raised her chain drill and pointed her shield forward. "In that case, I will gladly accept."

Nala lunged forward quickly and jabbed at Skar repeatedly, but the half-mutated man managed to dodge each attack with ease. 

Skar dodged as he waited for an opening, and when it happened, he drove his right hand straight into Nala's stomach like a swiftly piercing spear. 

Skar's hand stalled, his mutated hand unable to penetrate Nala's chain armor. Right after that, there was a hissing sound and white smoke emerged from the tip of his hand that was in contact with Nala's armor. 

Nala wanted to stab Skar in the head but the man managed to jump back. 

"That's what it looks like, it's not just any magic chain." Skar looked at his mutation's blistered hand and then looked at Nala who bathed in sweat. 

Skar smiled widely. "So that's the risk of your abyss magic? Interesting!"

The half-mutant dashing forward and launched a relentless attack that Nala could only ward off with her chain shield. 

"It's over, Nala!" Skar shouted as he prepared for the final blow. 

Skar tightened his fingers and made them straight like a spear. His entire right hand hardened and continued to harden until it formed a solid, sharp spearhead. 

The moment before the attack struck Nala's shield, the shield glowed brightly, emitted a lot of smoke, and hissed. The shield immediately spun around very quickly.

When Skar's attack touched the shield, his hand was instantly eroded followed by a puff of white smoke and a very loud hissing sound. 

Skar withdrew his hand immediately. Nala stabbed at the panicked man's face but was unfortunately dodged at the last moment.

He smiled, and unfortunately she smiled also and put the man on alert. 

The chain drill in Nala's right hand instantly became loose and extended, piercing through Skar's right hand. The end of the chain immediately bloomed and formed an anchor. The chain then snapped back to form the drill and forced Skar to come closer.

Before Skar could react, Nala drove the rapidly rotating edge of her shield into Skar's hand, scraping the hard hand like a chainsaw cutting through a tree trunk. 

Skar cried out in pain and wanted to jump back but his left leg was bound by the chain that had previously covered Nala's right leg. 

*Jrash! 

The hand was severed and blood sprayed profusely. Skar could not move away and the chain shield came close to the man's face.

*Zzzzzzzzzttttttttt!!!! 

A loud hissing sound made Skar scream out loud. He forced his legs to retreat until they were severed and Skar was finally able to move away. 

Left leg severed, right hand severed, face blistered. Skar knelt down while breathing heavily.

Nala's face was covered in sweat and she also began to breathe heavily. "Thanks for the dance, let's end this!"

Nala jumped at Skar but the man chuckled and surprised Nala. 

Skar's back split into two vertically and a green figure emerged like a butterfly out of a cocoon.

The shiny green body was like an emerald stone. The head was still in the shape of a human head only without hair and there were two horns sticking out of his forehead.

Skar quickly choked Nala.

Nala swiftly launched her drill attack but was caught by Skar with his other hand. 

Skar strengthened her choke and made Nala unable to lift her hand. 

Nala opened her mouth and a purple dagger-tipped magic chain came out of her throat and pierced through Skar's right eye.

He screamed and released the choke. Nala immediately jumped back and swallowed the purple chain.

Nala suddenly fell to her knees and breathed heavily. Her tongue was burned, her lips were blistered and she held her painful stomach with both hands.

"Hahaha! Too bad it missed. But what an interesting magic. An impenetrable chain of heat that burns the user." Skar held his perforated eye and dripped a lot of blood. 

From the slit in Nala's chain armor, blood flowed slowly. 

"What an interesting magic, if your stamina and endurance were higher, it would be bad." Skar lifted his hand from his hollow eye.

Now, Skar's eyes and head had fully regenerated as if he had never been injured at all. 

"Look, my regeneration ability -"

Skar suddenly fell to his knees and coughed up blood. His vision swayed slightly and Nala laughed at him. 

"I think we're in the same boat," Nala said with a laugh.

Skar laughed as well. "It looks like this will be a battle of stamina and endurance."

"The first one to get tired and lose focus will die. Fair enough."

Skar and Nala immediately stood up straight, forcing themselves to straighten up. 

Skar shaped his hand like a shiny sword. Nala made her shield and drill spin rapidly to release a lot of white smoke. 

Both blitzing forward to each other.
