"What are you saying? Have you lost it?" Ruby exclaimed, her eyes widened in disbelief. Then, she caught Sheryl whispering Hamlyn's name with tears streaming down her face.
"Hey, calm down, both of you," Ruby intervened, her voice steady but filled with worry. "Rurina, please explain what's happening.”
"Today, the boys were supposed to accompany Hamlyn to his doctor's appointment," Rurina spoke slowly, seeming dazed. "But now, I received a call from an unknown person who told me about a terrible car accident involving four boys. He found my number on one of their phones and confirmed it was Hamond's car by the licence plate.”
Overcome with sorrow, Sheryl clasped her hands over her mouth, took a staggering step backward, and crumpled onto the sofa. Memories of Hamlyn rushed back, flooding her mind and stirring uncontrollable sobs. As tears cascaded down her face, Rurina also sank to her knees, overwhelmed by sorrow.
