CHAPTER 27
The deafening sound of the wind, the non-stop pouring of the rain, the screeching wheels, the falling stones hitting the roof, and the voices of men screaming my name were slowly fading away as the carriage falls farther downward.
It happened so fast that I didn't have time to react. I lost my senses for a minute before realizing the situation I am in.
But I was too late, for my body was limp, and I can no longer move it, or even lift a single finger. My hearing was fading, and I can feel a warm fluid running from my head.
-Am I going to die?-
Countless scenes flashed through my head. Memories I have remembered before this wrenching demise of mine.
The old man's advice, Lexus' childishness, the troublesome yet faithful prince, my hardwork and stupidity, but most of all, my faults and failures flashed before my eyes.
The last thing that I remembered was that naïve and innocent face of that man I met years ago. I can't believe I still remember that face of his after all these years.
-I guess this is my end.- I thought and lost consciousness. Then, the non-stop crying rain continues to sob, and the violent wind continues to howl.
...…
Years before the present…
Fire was everywhere. Men fighting to death. Their screams, clashing of weapons and its deafening sound was all over the place.
Among those men is a girl riding a horse and wearing an armor with a spear in hand, fought the barbarians bravely. The battle lasts for hours before the enemies retreated.
The brave girl watched the men carrying their allies. Many were dead and some were wounded. The battlefield was filed with unknown bodies, may be it an enemies, or their allies.
They fought with different reasons, yet together, they died side-by-side.
-Maybe death is what makes men come to an agreement.-
The place was washed by blood and consumed by fire. All what's left was ashes, slowly being carried by the slight wind.
Cries, screams and shouts were everywhere. The gladness of victory, the tears of sadness, and the helplessness, accompanied the soldier's heart one by one.
The brave girl looks up to the sky and her hair was blown by the calming wind, along with the ashes and leaves.
For five years, these scenes came into view always to the brave girl, but she was still bothered by it, as she can't get use to the sickening images.
For five years, she fought bravely until the end. Hoping to end the battle early, so she can rest and calm her mind and heart.
But when she saw blood scattered like red petal roses on a wedding day, she can't help herself going crazy for wanting bloodshed. It made her insane, her consciousness was drifting away that only wanted more blood. No matter how much she loath for blood, she can't help but follow her mind and body.
The curse is slowly consuming her whole physique, her mind and heart. Only half of her body was still cursed-free, she only had a small amount of time to cure her curse.
So, after the five years of battle, she hurriedly went home, not minding the harsh weather, not knowing what kind of *lily would bloom from the mud and blood* that awaits her up ahead.
{Means, suffering from one tragic fate leads you through a beautiful one}
…..
Back to present…
An unconscious girl laying on the muddy ground was slowly being carried away by the rising water. Due to the non-stop pouring of rain, a river was made.
With the help of the rain, the girl was drifting through the water current successfully. The huge trunk of trees, the leaves and some objects accompanied her.
Up on the cliff, a desperate man shouting the girl's name can be seen.
"Lily!"
"FIND HER!" He shouted to the frozen soldiers.
-Master hung in there, please, be safe.-
Many soldiers and knights were searching for the girl who fell on a high cliff along with the carriage.
The water was so muddy and brown that serves as the girl's camouflage, making the soldiers in finding her difficult.
If they have been a lot early, then they would have found her, but they were too shock to move. If not for Lexus calling her name and urging them to move, they would have been there standing and gasping in shock all day.
"MASTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR…"
....
Dandelion's POV
One usual lonely morning, not expecting a twist of my life was going to happen, I went to the river leisurely. There's no point hurrying as no one would be in there too, only myself.
When I arrived there, I'm devastated.
"Umm... looks like it rained a lot last night. The river is so muddy and casted things and parts of trees were everywhere."
Carrying a basket of laundry, I sighed and was about to go back when I spotted something unusual on one of the tree branches.
"What is that?" I put down the basket gently.
-A cloak? So strange-
I went closer and saw the unique designs imprinted in it, it made me awe. It's one of a kind, it was so beautiful.
-This must have been very expensive. The designs are nice and unique. How about its texture?-
Because I was so curious, I went closer to it, with the thought of taking it for myself. Who wouldn't actually, it was so beautiful.
I crunch down and touch the cloak with a smile. I tried pulling it from the water, but stopped when I notice that it was too heavy.
Because it was heavy, I stood up and pulled it again. My efforts were no use, for it didn't even move a little.
I inspected the cloak and found a hand connected to it. "Ahh! What? I didn't see that before."
Clutching my chest, I slowly took the hood off the person. "It's really a human. Why didn't I think about it before? Now this explains why the cloak was heavy."
The person's face and hand, or more like the whole body, was covered with mud, making it as a camouflage.
"Geez, I almost had a heart attack." I examine the person's pulse, and found, it was still beating. "This person was alive?"
-Wow, such a desperate person.-
"What should I do with this man?"
I have examined the person and found he was wearing a man's clothing, so literally the person was a man.
"Should I help him first, or call someone for help?" I shake my head at my thoughts.
-I can't do that, besides, the houses were far away from here, so maybe I should just help him and then find help.-
"Hmm… now that settles, where first?" I was baffled to where I must pull him. I don't know if he had an injury, a broken bone or a wound, the mud covered him after all.
"Let's start pulling his arms."
I bend my waist and hold the stranger's hand, and, "Okay, one, two, three, pull…"
