8.New Beginnings

Lillian's POV

We arrived at the school at exactly 5:30pm and I knew the exact time because I was so nervous I had been focusing on the time all the way from the airport. When we stepped down from the car almost everyone turned turned to stare , which heightened my nervousness and I think Mrs. Renee noticed it and told me to calm down.

Larry , who was the Chauffeur carried my bags ahead of me to where all the students and parents were gathered while they were assigned houses and dormitories. The school had 10 houses , which was quite a lot but also cool. They were Airlie, Barry, Butler, Campbell , Cloister, Pitt , Rubens, Shelburne, Wendover and Clarence and amazingly each house had their color. I was assigned to house Barry , whose color was sky blue and I loved it because blue was one of my favorite colors.

About two hours later we were all settled into our dormitories , with the girls on one side of the school and the boys on the other side. I carried my bags to the room given to me to be shared with eleven other girls which was going to be quite tough considering I hadn't really had friends before so it was going to be quite an experience.

I retired to bed early even with all the noise of people getting to know each other and seniors questioning fresher's and friends reuniting , knowing that a new chapter in my life had began already. The following day began orientation week and even though i was nervous I was also excited to be a path to realizing my dreams of a medical doctor.

We were awaken and told to get ready by 10 and assemble on the school grounds to begin the orientation. Since it was a very prestigious school, they had cleaners and workers so we basically didn't do anything. We were grouped into our various houses and led by our housemasters and mistress . The tour began with the history of the houses , how they were founded and all that , then we moved on the academic overview of the institution.

At 1pm we were seated for lunch and told that the orientation was over for the day and would be continued the next day. I found my self seated next to a red haired girl , very white skinned and very pretty but quite short but only because I was taller than her .

I didn't realize i was staring at her until she introduced herself.

''Hi , my name is Jenna and I am from Queensland , Australia. Can we be friends?''

And to say the the question took me by surprise would be an understatement but it was nice and moreover no one had asked to be my friend so i decided to give this a chance.

So I said, '' Yes , of course,''

'' I am Lilian, from New York , USA''.

'' Wow , that's really cool'', I have always wanted to visit the US'', she said.

As we continued eating , I realized she was very hyperactive and smiling so much

''So which house are you, ?''

''I was given House Clarence'', she answered.

''What of you ,''.

'' I am House Barry''.

''So that means you are on the second floor , right?''

''Yeah''.

After lunch , we cleared out of the dining hall and went outside to walk around the school, while talking and getting to know each other and if i must say we ended up having a lot of things in common which made me really happy.

We spoke and laughed and joked around and even got some weird looks which we didn't care about.

''Lilian , stop already '' she said while laughing and clutching her stomach .

''What did I do , '' i asked pretending to not know what was happening and also laughing. About some hours later we were asked to retire to our rooms and get ready for supper. We stepped into the hallway and climbed the stairs leading to our various dormitories and luckily for both of us ,Jenna was on the third floor so we weren't far apart.

''See you at supper '', she shouted while parting ways, and there I could feel that this friendship would be a very wonderful one.

Xavier's POV.

Making friends was a very strange concept to me , simply because I had never had one before so I was lost. I made my first friend and the only best friend I would ever have who would also became like a brother I never had. I was on my way to supper after our first day of orientation. As I was walking deep in thought about how I was going to cope with everything , he walked up to me and started talking as though that was the most usual thing to do.

''You know I am so nervous , its like I don't know anyone here and i don't even know who to talk to .''

''Do you even know me, '' ?I asked

''No, but you seem like a nice person ''

'' I raised an eyebrow at him, you just met me for heaven's sake. But i didn't tell him that.

I just went along with him and we continued chatting.

''I 'm Robert by the way , just call me Robby, from Denmark''.

And surprisingly i wasn't surprised, cos his features said it all.

He was blonde, or more like white and very lanky, nowhere near my muscular frame .

''Name's Jayden, from Belgravia''.

We continued chatting and made our way to the dining hall. Every table was according to houses and since we had 10 houses there were supposed to be ten tables but the tables were about 20 because one table could only take 40 students and each house had about 80 students.

Robert was in Wendover House and that was cool cos we were not really far from each other but it wasn't as though I cared .

After our supper we were allowed an hour of communication before retiring to our dormitories. After a very stressful week orientation came to an end and we had the weekend to rest and prepare for the following week when learning would begin
