*Roar*
A huge roar was released from the tiger-like beast in front of the students. It was white in color with light blue stripes randomly appearing from time to time on its body. It also had a blue orb in its forehead.
The beast itself wasn't actually that big, it was actually only 2 meters tall and 3 meters long, which was a lot smaller than the magic beast the boys had seen before. But, that still didn't stop their hair from standing on their ends after hearing that terrifying roar.
Instructor Rustica was just calmly standing opposite to the tiger as she was explaining to the class. Whilst doing that, she created chains of unknown material that wrapped itself around the beast's legs.
"Can any one of you tell me what rank the beast is?" She turned around, completely ignoring the struggling beast behind her.
"It is a Benitoite rank magic beast, ma'am." One of the students replied to her question.
"Good answer. As you all know there are 8 ranks with which we rank all of the beasts. We do that according to the color of that orb, which is located in the middle of its forehead, as you can see. Now, the Benitoite rank is only the second lowest rank that exists, meaning it is still very weak." She explained.
She then snapped her fingers and the chains that were holding the beast in one place started digging into its flesh all throughout its body. It made for a pretty gruesome scene, making it looks like worms wriggling under the skin, until the chains suddenly tightened and squeezed the body of the beast, making the already fast-flowing blood splatter everywhere. It actually almost splashed on the students.
The more "inexperienced" students started throwing up whilst some just looked sideways, not wanting to look at the gut-wrenching scene.
Instructor Rustica looked at some of the students throwing up and realized her mistake. She actually didn't do this on purpose. Obviously, as a teacher, she was supposed to know that these young kids haven't really seen blood, not to mention those organs that were squashed into meat paste.
"Oh, I apologize for doing this. I forgot that we were having a lesson for a moment." She said with a sheepish smile, which quickly turned solemn. "But, you have to remember that you will get to see this scene many more times. The entire reason you are in the academy is to participate in the war right?"
The students just nodded and didn't answer verbally.
"You have to get used to it. When you go to war, to save your homeland, you will have to watch as your comrades are killed right in front of your eyes. At that moment, you will fell so powerless." She clenched her hand.
Looks like she has some experience with this, the boys thought.
Not like they can do anything about this.
It would be a lie to say that they weren't affected by such a situation, but just remembering the scene of a giant lion being dismembered by a bunch of birds was way worse than this, which was increased by the fact that the pressure then and right now differed so much.
Instructor Rustica waited for the students to calm down and she spoke up.
"Let us get to the point of this trip then," Her gaze turned stiffer. "We will be staying in this forest for a week. The reason is to gain necessary experience to battle magic beasts, now, with that in mind, let us set up camp."
After she finished her speech, she lay down on the grassy land and closed her eyes.
The students just looked at her, confused. What were they supposed to do now?
"What? Why are you just staring at me so dumbly? Get to work! Make a nice camp so we can get some sleep today!" Instructor Rustica opened one eye to look at the students.
The students got to work right after they were woken up from their daze.
But, another problem soon followed.
Chaos was happening as some of the students tried to do everything, some did nothing, and some argued about what they were doing.
Instructor Rustica was just silently watching them with her eyes closed.
An unorganized team.
It was the worst thing that could happen in a war. They didn't know yet, but in the upcoming war, the students would be divided into squads of 25, which would be the classes that were created from all the students who graduated.
This training was supposed to help them work together.
And there was one more thing…
"Hey!" One of the students shouted. It was actually the human boy, who tried to help the girl get her engagement broken.
The students looked at him in confusion. What is this dude's problem?
"We need to calm down, we are being way too unorganized. We have to work together to get things done!" He exclaimed.
"And who do you think you are?" One of the dark elves, Jack Stultus, the young master guy, yelled at him.
"Huh? Oh, I guess I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Lucas Smith." He said.
"No, I wasn't asking that, you idiot. I was asking who gave you the permission to act like a leader." Jack was bewildered at the stupidity of this guy.
"Well, I mean, we can vote for who we want to be the leader if you disagree,"
The students thought about this for a little while and came to a conclusion that this is indeed a good idea. But, the problem was, they didn't know their classmates that well yet. After all, the school only started a month ago.
"Or, we can just split into teams and decide who does what." Jack finished his sentence.
Most of the students agreed with this arrangement, as everybody had this group of people they hung out with the most.
Of course, this wasn't to Instructor Rustica's liking, so, she had to make some little alterations to their arrangement and add something into the mix.
Okay, so this is the last chapter that i wrote. There will be more coming, i just have to rethink my ideas. I don't really want to write nonsesical trash. Hopefully, i will think of something interesting really soon. I also wanted to add more action into the upcoming chapters, since the last few have mostly been info dumps that are really boring most of the time. I never really wrote a action packed chapter, so if you have some tips, don't hesitate to tell me, i would really appreciate that!
