Fangs and Spears

Mauzarella and Maple make it to a small valley, which is where the vast majority of the screams were coming from. They start looking around, when out of nowhere, a warrior flies over their heads and falls behind them.

Mauzarella quickly checks on the mouse, while Maple finally figures out what's going on.

Maple: Eh… Mauzarella? Are you seeing this?

The mouse turns and sees the creature that was about to attack the village. It was something very similar to a white dinosaur, twice the size of any of the natives.

Mauzarella: NUTMEG!

There were several desperate warriors, trying to push back the beast, which constantly defended itself, ripping the spears off the mice and then attacking directly.

Chief Yoink: WHO LET YOU OUT!

Mauzarella: We're here to help, Chief! Please let us do our job.

Chief Yoink: SOMEONE TAKE AWAY THE PRISONERS!

Maple: Ugh… You fools, STAND ASIDE!

Maple picks up a spear that's lying next to a fallen warrior and throws it at the dinosaur, sticking it under the creature's jaw, which takes a couple of steps, lets out a shriek, and falls limp to the ground.

Maple: There's your "Great Furious."

For a moment Chief Yoink is left completely speechless, and then addresses the Rangers.

Chief Yoink: That's not "The Great Furious"! That's a "Little Furious"! They always come first and we usually can handle them.

Maple: It means that… There's a bigger one?

Chief Yoink: And you just got his attention!

Just then, a great roar is heard in the distance, and a huge head pokes out from behind the rocks. It was a dinosaur twice the size of the one on the floor, extremely corpulent, and unlike the little one, it had two large horns on its forehead.

Maple: Is that "The Great Furious"?

Dr. Braun and Hazel arrive at the scene and see the Little Furious on the floor and the Big Furious approaching.

Dr. Braun: This is incredible, "The Great Furious" is a horned primal saurischian, I thought there were none left in this galaxy.

Hazel: That thing is… HUGE!

Along with the largest dinosaur, some others appear, just like the one that Maple defeated.

Maple: We need our gear...

Mauzarella turns to the Chief to try to convince him one more time.

Mauzarella: Please "Great Chief Yoink", let us help you defend your people. We know how to do it.

Chief Yoink just watches the Ranger speak.

Mauzarella: If for some reason we fail, the first to die would be us, and thus we would fulfill the sacrifice.

Chief Yoink: Fine, but if you manage to stop it, you'll still be sacrificed.

Mauzarella: I can work with that. Can you give us our things?

Chief Yoink: I ordered my warriors to bury your stuff, so you'll have to use what we have.

Mauzarella: That complicates things a bit, but ok, no problem.

Mauzarella joins her crew to come up with a plan.

Mauzarella: Doc, you and Hazel coordinate the evacuation; Get everyone to a safe place.

Dr. Braun: Very well.

Hazel: I like that..

Mauzarella: Maple, you take care of the little ones, and I'll take care of the big one.

Maple: Are you sure you can handle him?

Mauzarella: I don't know, but I have to try.

The group breaks the huddle. The Doctor and Hazel run to where the natives are. Maple takes all the spears she can carry and gives one to Mauzarella.

Maple: Don't die.

Mauzarella: You more.

The first to arrive are the Little Furious, three dinosaurs that Maple tries to round up by making a lot of noise from the top of some rocks.

Maple: HEY BIRD BRAINS! I'M RIGHT HERE!

The three dinos ignore the Ranger and continue on their way. Maple then throws a spear through the head of one of them, making it fall flat on the spot, enraging the other two.

Maple: That's more like it. Come and get me!

The remaining two foes begin to clumsily climb the rocks, trying to reach Maple.

Maple: GOOD LUCK MAUZARELLA!

Mauzarella stands right in the path of the Great Furious to prevent him from reaching the village. The footsteps of the beast make the ground rumble with each step.

Armed only with a spear, the mouse faces the creature.

Mauzarella: You sure are a big one.

The dinosaur stops in front of Mauzarella and lets out a loud roar.

ROOOOOOAAAAAR!!

Mauzarella: Alright, let's get this over with...

Meanwhile, Maple is chased by the dinosaurs as she moves between the rocks looking for a good place to fight, with two spears strapped to her back and one in her hand.

Suddenly, the Ranger finds herself facing three large stone walls that form a dead end, where the only exit was now blocked by the two Little Furious who had just arrived at the site.

Maple: Oh No! This is not good.

With no choice but to fight, Maple turns around and faces the dinosaurs, who are already upon her.

First she throws a spear at one of them but misses because the dino dodges the attack easily.

Maple: Wow, looks like you're not that dumb after all.

She then draws another spear and puts it facing forward to prevent the beasts from approaching.

Maple: Who wants to be first?

One of the dinosaurs approaches her, while the other remains in its place.

Maple steps forward and attacks head-on in a quick move, but the experienced dinosaur, bites the spear from the side and rips it out of her hands.

Maple: HEY! THAT'S MINE!

The beast throws the spear to the ground and steps on it, snapping it in two, to then roar in the squirrel's direction.

Maple: Okay, okay, just saying...

Maple takes the spear she has left and prepares to defend herself.

The Little Furious first tries to hit the Ranger with one of his paws, and she deflects the claw with her weapon.

The dino immediately tries to bite Maple, who nimbly rolls to the side, to make a quick stab at the foes' head.

The beast takes two steps to the right, stumbling against the stone wall. The Ranger gets up and adopts a defensive position once more.

Maple: HAHA, Did you like that!? One of you is no match for… Wait! Where's the other one?

Maple turns to find that the other Furious was behind her about to land a deadly bite, so she deftly throws herself backwards to the ground, raising her spear which passes through the creature's palate and ends up piercing its head.

The dinosaur collapses immediately.

Maple: Nice try, but I'm the clever girl here.

Seeing what had happened, the remaining Furious turns around and runs away.

Maple: WHERE ARE YOU GOING? WE ARE NOT DONE YET!

Maple notices that the creature is heading towards the village.

Maple: Oh no you won't.

The Ranger runs after the creature, grabbing the spear that she threw earlier from the floor.
