This wasn't some kind of great love story.
Lucian didn't bring Valentina here to spend the rest of their lives together because he fell in love with her.
Or at least that's what he thought.
It felt almost like an addiction.
"I think…I think I would like you to drink more of my blood," she said after they ran inside.
Lucian looked at Valentina, surprised by her words. He could see the earnestness in her eyes, her wings still faintly shimmering as they slowly retracted. His heart skipped a beat at her request, and he hesitated, unsure of how to respond.
"Valentina…" he began, his voice uncertain. "Are you sure?"
Valentina nodded, her expression unwavering. "I do. I want to help you, Lucian. I want you to feel the sunlight with me."
Lucian's eyes flicked back to hers, and he felt something shift inside him.
